  1. Mine took 2:20 to get to my cruise…20+ seconds to get past the logo screen & another 2 minutes to open my cruise’s info…mine is considerably slower after the update. We’re 11 days from boarding but don’t see an OceanReady boarding pass…does anyone have any experiences with these? Are these only for those in the Blue lane who need to pickup Medallions at the port which doesn’t apply to us having received them at home to be in the Green lane.
  2. If you want to sample local wines, Maui Winery is located in Upcountry’s Ulapalakua area. Across the street is a quaint old market & grill if hungry…Ulapalakua Ranch Store. 😋 https://ulupalakuaranch.com/ranch-store-grill/ The earlier you can get to Haleakala the better because the summit area can get socked in with clouds around midday.
  3. Great…if you only walk to the nearby Maui Mall would highly recommend the long time family owned Tasaka Guri Guri…a frozen tasty treat (cash only) described as a combination between sherbert and soft ice cream which comes in either strawberry or pineapple or get both like we do…ono-licious! 😋 https://onolicioushawaii.com/tasaka-guri-guri/
  4. It does replace Lahaina which I expect the situation to be for at least 5 years. There is no good places to visit within walking distance & only a few malls. There is a public bus system however think renting a car from the airport or Enterprise close to the port is a better option. If wanting to go to nice beaches would recommend going to Wailea (30 minutes) and if you have a rental car you can drive to the south end of the road to see the most recent flow from the late 1700s. Or to drive Upcountry to visit that area halfway up Haleakala (we go to the Maui Winery when guests visit us) or to continue to the top to see the cinder cones & where I’ve read the lunar astronauts trained there because it resembles the surface of the moon.
  5. Happy that the workaround was successful for you…now Princess needs to fix the glitch which prevents simply removing any item in the cart.
  6. You cannot use any device to heat water in the cabin…maybe hot water from the buffet drink stations or using the breakfast door hanger for hot water which might not be hot enough for your press.
  7. Wishing you the best of luck…you’re certainly doing your homework. 😊 Thanks…to me your destination is much mo bettah than mine. ☺️ If you dock in Kahului Maui hope you have a great day. 😎
  8. The 20% average maximum for Hawaii is between 0627 & 0757 HST (0927 & 1057 PDT) https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/in/usa/hawaii?iso=20240408 Maybe you could locate a map by searching online for approximately midway between LA & HI to find an estimated amount of obscuration…even a guess-timate is better than nothing. 😉 If you hope to see the small partial eclipse then get eye protection glasses from someplace such as Amazon. I’m on Discovery’s TSE at sea off of Mazatlan & Princess sent an email confirming that we’ll receive glasses on the ship.
  9. After updating my iPad last night the blue display with the Princess logo took longer to go to my next cruise which took 90 seconds of spinning wheel before opening my cruise’s info. This not only happened on the first usage after the bug squashing update but for subsequent openings of the Princess app.
  10. Agree…Such inconsistency fleetwide on having wine packages available is likely the reason they were unsuccessful when offered before the pandemic. They never promoted it on their website & frequently had little to no promotion onboard…their management’s policies were not how to have a successful wine package. Celebrity promotes wine packages with different number of bottle options which we purchased even from our homeport because the difference between carrying on wine to pay corkage & the package it was worthwhile for us to buy the package with a discount by purchasing in advance & as I recall could use OBC to pay for it. And when flying to a port that convenience is even more of a factor for us.
  11. I’ve also had that experience but having not used EZair since 2017 I don’t recall if it was jumbled or not.
  12. Disappointing…such inconsistency of not knowing if it’s available or not is not good when making a decision whether to purchase wine onboard or to carryon wine which I will do instead of waiting for them to decide whether to offer it or not. It appears to me that your thoughts about when a wine package is offered would be true & a way for Princess to sell excess inventory however that uncertainty is not good for their passengers.
  13. That might be required to delete an order like the procedure I found. I agree, there should be a way to remove cart items without placing the order & then canceling it…just another app IT glitch! 🙄
  14. I stumbled upon a way to delete an order in the Princess app using my Apple mobile devices. Under “Order and customize Medallion” is “Order History”. Clicking on it brings up my order history & by pressing & holding my finger down on it my order is shown. At the bottom of the page is this option but not wanting to cancel mine I went no further. This worked to cancel an existing order but don’t know if it works for deleting cart items…good luck. 🤞
  15. This was posted on the just completed Live from Sun Princess.
  16. That’s not surprising to me that you booked about 2 years in advance which is what we did for our around Australia cruise from Brisbane a year from now. We booked roundtrip from Brisbane for a couple of reasons…it was nearly a third less than from Sydney & we’ve never been to Brisbane. There were fewer cabins available from Brisbane so we needed to book ASAP which we did do.
  17. Our Medallions arrived last night…2 weeks before boarding. It took a week for the package to travel an hour to be delivered to our house. Having arrived overnight at FedEx’s Memphis hub I’d guess your Medallions will be delivered tomorrow because they’re so efficient unlike the USPS.
  18. These are a few of the examples of the incorrect info on some passengers records which continue to affect some passengers but not others. After installing that update last night, I checked the specialty dinner prices that showed $63 USD for the CG which is actually the AUD price…that bug is still running rampant & was not squashed in that update.
  19. it’s a good thing that was corrected before you boarded the ship and would be denied ordering alcohol. 😂
  20. After people on my roll call received shipping/tracking emails but none for me after a few days called Princess for a status 3 weeks before sailing. The first rep tried for 45 minutes to get a status & then transferred me to their “OceanReady” section. Within 15 minutes confirmed it would arrive about 11 days in advance (some of the time was a sales pitch to buy packages, etc). Next day received shipping/tracking email that it was in Carson, CA (4PX EXPRESS USA) & 3 days later to USPS in Carson. Then it took 48 hours to go the short distance to my house. So for this Medallion order they were delivered 14 days before our cruise For future orders would tell the first rep that no status was on my reservation & to request immediately being transferred to “OceanReady” to greatly reduce the time on the phone seeking a status.
  21. Like Thrak, I’d suggest booking early & watching for price decreases which my US based TA gets for me however your rules might be different than in the US. We booked the very popular twice yearly Princess cruise around Australia two years in advance & prices have only increased with little to no availability. We’ve also booked an Auckland to LA transpacific cruise sailing a couple of days later & had an early price reduction but nothing since then for cruises that are a year from now. I don’t know about the legalities of booking cruises for Aussies sailing outside of your country. Your UK friends might need to book from their country & have read their rules are different than when booking in the US. Good luck…hope your crystal-ball is clear to lead you to your best option.
  22. I’ve had faster FedEx delivery from Singapore than going from Carson, CA to my home an hour away. I’m on the next cruise & shipping by 4PX EXPRESS USA & the USPS it’s taking nearly a week to go the short distance to our house. Hopefully you’ll have as good of results as we did from Singapore via Honolulu for customs…all in 3 days. That’s less than half the time it’s taking for our delivery arriving from an hour away.
