  1. Thanks for sharing the food options…after 5 meals at Catch you have researched the menu quite well. 😊 Have a great cruise…ours was one of our favorite cruises! 😃
  2. True..however me & others do not have the drink package so it’s a valid point for us.
  3. If like me you drink wine it includes “vino rosso”…for me the meal with wine at $45 is a good deal. While the Caymus Winemakers dinner has more upscale food & wine it also comes with a $140 fee plus 18% tip which is now added to specialty dining.
  4. Thanks for sharing your well cruised opinion about The Catch & we’re eager to enjoy dining there next month. I’ve read posts from those who cruise on luxury lines who rave that The Catch was as good or even better. Any particular recommendations? Reading about dining changes since Rudi moved over from HAL, I’m encourage for more improved dining experiences. Since Alfredo Marzi retired I’ve been disappointed in some of the dining changes even pre-pandemic but it appears that Rudi is improving dining. We have no plans to sail on Sun/Star however some of the new dining options could result in trying those ships in the future. Checking Majestic’s April cruises you might be sailing Australia & the South Pacific…in 2009 we greatly enjoyed sailing 30 days from Sydney to LA on Star. Next March we’ll circumnavigate Oz & cruise back from Auckland. Have a great cruise on Majestic! 😊
  5. You’re very welcome…’cruisedoctor’ provides great details & Butcher’s Block appears to be a wonderful meal at $45 including a glass of wine. Being a pop up location in the aft area of the buffet’s seating area the location might not be the best & hope it’ll be available on other ships. The Catch by Rudi is the other pop up restaurant on Sun which is available as a stand alone restaurant in the Piazza on a few ships. That is getting rave reviews & I’m looking forward to dining there on Discovery next month & even pre-purchased it to ensure our preferred date & time. 😋
  6. On the primary Sun Princess thread Butcher Block is being discussed with helpful info from ‘cruisedoctor’.
  7. Skagway - Embarkation Lunch.pdf
  8. I happened to see an answer posted earlier in this lengthy thread…yes except for as I recall at most table games. It was stated that there are still people who will sit in front of a machine to smoke without playing them.
  9. You’re welcome…we bring our Purex 3-in-1 sheets for washing delicates that we don’t want to send to the ship’s laundry which we receive for free as an elite level benefit.
  10. Agree & on Royal-class ships the midship DW/BW balconies are categorized as “obstructed” yet when looking out from the blue glass there is no obstruction & only when looking downward…like those cabins you expressed your opinion about. And the obstruction on the DW/BW balconies are a deck below & not merely a few feet away.
  11. There is a fee for washer & dryer ($3.50 each?) in addition to purchasing detergent.
  12. My first ones were Mondavi but more recently Silverado…as you wrote same idea & we enjoyed both versions.
  13. This is from their current dining list on their website which doesn’t necessarily mean it accurately reflects onboard availability & pricing.
  14. I’ve greatly enjoyed many of the Silverado versions which were in the 12 person Wine Cellars located in both midship MDRs.
  15. For me losing the walk-in closet for a couch is a good exchange.
  16. For our 50th nothing was provided for free so the free dinner must be a perk from your booking source & as others have recommended check with them because that is not a Princess perk for celebrating an anniversary.
  17. Based on reports from those who have experienced the Caymus version, it’s $140 (plus now 18% tip) and the CG was closed for the evening for that dinner.
  18. Thanks for the correction…with no recent reports of the Silverado version (shows $45 on the current dining options list) wonder what they’re using the Wine Cellar areas for in the 2 midship MDRs.
  19. Thanks…wow…closed the CG for a dinner for 12. 😳 That’s bizarre when they have two midship Wine Cellars that were used for the Silverado version.
  20. We’ll see you in only 5 weeks after immediately booking 20 months in advance. This will be our first Princess cruise since Discovery’s inaugural cruises in Spring 2022. We’ve been spreading our sails trying new cruise lines…Celebrity & Oceania. Next Spring we have 50 days booked on Princess around Oz & back to LA. 😃
  21. You usually have faster fingers than me by providing great helpful info. 👍😊
  22. Our exclusive "Aloha Spirit" program brings the sights and sounds of Hawaii to life on board with a wide variety of island-infused entertainment and enrichment programs, including: Hawaiian Ambassadors on board every sailing Lei-making workshops Ukulele playing, and Hula dance lessons Polynesian language classes A special Grand Hawaiian Farewell Luau, where guests show off their new Hawaii-inspired talents The Halau Hula Olana Folkloric Show — a Princess guest favorite Hawaiian musicians, naturalists, and entertainers The historic King Kamehameha Festival celebrated on board, as part of our Festivals of the World program https://www.princess.com/en-us/cruise-destinations/hawaii-cruises
  23. Thanks for sharing your opinions about the Caymus WMD…was it in one of the midship dining room’s Wine Cellars like the Silverado WMD on the Royal-class ships? I had no plans to go to the Caymus version at more than triple the cost of the Silverado version & your experience confirms my opinion about another expensive Princess experience.
