  1. That’s interesting! I wonder how that works if someone is on a world cruise?
  2. My cc shows the medallion shipping charge posted on 6/16 but still shows not shipped. 🤞 tomorrow will be shipping day!
  3. I will update. We live in the US and have received our medallions at home for overseas sailings pre-pandemic.
  4. Gift them with one of the following: 1) dinner at the specialty restaurant of their choice 2) ultimate balcony dinner 3) chef’s table 4) couples massage 5) request the cruise director announce it on the Wake show 6) have them do the Marriage Match game show
  5. I’m so glad you asked this and so glad to learn we will in fact receive the discount upon boarding!
  6. Noooo, I kept hoping it would go away. I’m so sorry for those who had their trip ruined by it! Sounds like it’s way past time for a deep clean and enhanced protocols to nip it.
  7. We kept our carry-ons with us on the tour bus.
  8. During the day, it’s normal attire. On formal nights, yes, people tend to be more into dressing up because of Christmas and New Year’s. On Christmas day, you’ll see lots of festive clothing, but it’s mainly casual like Christmas themed sweaters and dresses and shirts and pajamas and the string light necklaces and headbands and Santa hats. It’s very fun.
  9. For me, on one it was, and one it wasn’t. They say it’s due to Vancouver regulations, but that doesn’t make sense when it’s open on some and not on others.
  10. I prefer Princess’s food to Celebrity’s. My most recent Princess cruise was last December, and my most recent Celebrity cruise was last March. That Celebrity cruise did have better food than the one we did years ago at least, but it’s just mediocre compared to Princess. My friend who also sails Princess felt the same way. Celebrity did have good steak, awesome eggs Benedict, and delicious gelato, though. Now Princess’s food has changed in some ways…the fettuccini Alfredo was a shell of its former self, there were hardly any good desserts in the Pastry Shop, and some of the flavors weren’t up to snuff, although we did have very new crew I found out after. Ok the flip side, we had the best lobster I’ve ever had on a ship and plenty of yummy food for over 2 weeks. The overall best food we’ve ever had on Princess was on our Med cruises. The ingredients are just plain superior. We are going on our next one in July, and I sure hope that holds true.
  11. My in-laws absolutely loved Catch, and my mother-in-law is extremely hard to please.
  12. That sucks, and that’s exactly what I am worried is gonna happen for us. Princess really has no excuse sending it so late, especially now that they’re passing the cost on to pax now.
  13. Enjoyed your review; thank you. It’s good to know about a firsthand experience with FreeNow and the current taxi situation in Barcelona. We never had trouble getting a taxi last time and assumed it would be the same this time. Hopefully the extenuating circumstances you described were just that and not the new norm there.
  14. Ok, that’s good news! Our cruise is 2 days after yours.
  15. Thank you for sharing your experience. Ours is in 18 days.
  16. Ok, that’s good it hasn’t added a lot of time to pick it up.
  17. Were those 3 cruises all in 2023? Ours in December of 2022 is the one I was talking about.
  18. I sure hope they haven’t downgraded to USPS from FedEx. Our last Medallions shipped 18 days in advance and arrived 2 days later via FedEx. I know we can pick them up at the terminal, but I’m a planner who likes efficiency, so I like to have my Medallions in our wristbands on our wrists when we head to the port.
  19. In the past, we’ve received our medallions a few weeks in advance where I didn’t really feel nervous about the timing. This time, I’m a bit on edge with the timing. This is for a Europe cruise, and so many of us go there early. I’d think Princess would recognize this. Also, you’d think now that passengers are paying for shipping, they could ship them out a month early to play it safe. How far out have you recent cruisers been receiving your Medallions?
  20. That was a wonderful trip report; thank you! I appreciated the food allergy info too as some family will need it when they cruise.
  21. I am soooooo excited for the rollglider and slides!! I am not, however, excited about the multitude of kids who will now be sailing on Princess.
  22. Thank you! I agree that it’s cheaper and better to just take a taxi. My friend likes the transfers, though.
