  1. I didn’t take a taxi. I took the Carnival shuttle. I did see the taxi line though, and it was a pretty long line waiting for taxis. Hopefully the line went quickly. Nancy
  2. I plan on using a proctored test from my hotel in Southampton prior to boarding the Celebration TA.
  3. I just got off the Pride last Sunday and we had to be out of our cabins by 7:15 AM, the earliest I have ever experienced. The latest I think anyone can count on being aboard is 9:30, and you’re encouraged to leave much sooner than that.
  4. That depends on whether you book refundable or non-refundable fares. If you booked refundable, you can cancel the air free up to 60 days prior to the cruise, and after that there’s a $200 fee to cancel. The non-refundable can’t be cancelled for a refund. In either case, you don’t pay for the air until final payment for the cruise.
  5. One thing I wish Bermuda would do is allow people who aren’t going to exit the ship in Bermuda not to have to go through the process. The Bermuda Travel Authority approval is needed for all passengers on the ship, whether they disembark in Bermuda or not. I would have foregone all the hassle and just stayed on the ship as I have been to Bermuda multiple times previously.
  6. I think Bermuda probably should have given consideration to relying on the cruise ship to ensure everyone met the requirements. Every passenger on our cruise was tested at the port before boarding and was fully vaccinated and had boosters if eligible. Bermuda has the same rules for all visitors and I guess they decided not to exempt cruise passengers. It seems to me that Carnival could have lobbied them to make the exception.
  7. That was my plan also, but the internet on the ship was poor and spotty, with 2 full days of no internet. I didn’t want to count on being able to proctor, so I made my appointment about a week ahead of our debarkation day. The test result came back in less than 20 minutes. I’m glad I did it that way. If you wait till the day before to make your appointment, it’s possible there won’t be any time spots that fit with your flight schedule. In that case you would have to join the long line of people without appointments. To me the 30 euros I paid to book the test was peace of mind.
  8. You don’t just pay a fee. You have to provide them with vaccination documentation, passport information, and proof of a negative covid test 2 days before the ship’s embarkation date (can be 4 days if you have a PCR test). I just got off the Pride TA, and we did stop at Bermuda. There was a lot of confusion on embarkation day because some people didn’t have their Bermuda authorization. There were Bermuda authorities in the terminal to help sort out some of the issues.
  9. I am Mary’s friend who was on the Pride TA. I had originally planned to do a proctored self-test on the ship the day before arrival into Barcelona, but because of the poor internet service I couldn’t count on that. I had the premium plan but it wasn’t good. I booked the test at BCN airport for 30 euros, and it worked well. I was only there for about 20-25 minutes total. There was a huge line at the BCN testing center for people with no appointments. They had to pay 50 euros and wait as long as two hours before they could be tested. I would highly recommend booking an appointment. My appointment was for 10:25 AM but I got there at about 9:05 and they took me right in. Nancy
