Hi Cooler here today, and about 17 drops of rain. Nothing significant forecast at least until the end of the month. I guess it’s likely to be a wet winter. Generally, I try to keep to the old adage of “Least said, soonest mended”. Might work here? Have a good day all

There was a super programme on Channel 4 this week, which had two 77 year olds who were the result of wartime liaisons with black GIs. Both traced their stateside families eventually and it was obvious the affect it had on them. Good luck with your search

That’s a shame This thread has been such a boon, during the bad times, and has covered pretty much everything under the sun. Some topics have been fascinating, some of no interest to me at all, but it’s really ever so easy just to scroll by, without comment. No harm done. It feels a bit ironic for folk on a cruise forum to come up with potential proscribed topics because times are (undoubtedly and disgracefully - but that’s politics and we don’t do politics) tough and going to get tougher for many.

I’d agree with everything written Just an idea you might want to mull over - would he enjoy wearing a waistcoat, plain or fancy? If so, it would add an element of “dress up”, to go with the formal occasion But don’t worry - formal is a thing that seems a big thing before you cruise but which soon becomes much less of a troublesome thing and just a nice thing

Gran Canaria - Las Canetas beach; huge and lovely. Easy walk Walk across the plaza & through a shady shopping street which opens onto the ‘esplanade’. If you’re early in the day turn right, to get the morning sun. Plenty of child friendly food outlets Last time we were there, they had put a temporary dance floor on the sand & we’re doing dance lessons and displays
