  1. Silvija says hi. Sergio pulled some strings and we got assigned Alvin and Roel again.
  2. October (Columbus Day weekend). I was smart enough not to work that day either. Our SFPD guys had to call two on duty patrol units to “escort” them (we bring our personal cars to work the port) off the Embarcadero
  3. They have opened the public restrooms closer to the street. They closed them for years due to the homeless abusing them. Might be the new port manager’s call.
  4. And that’s why I don’t work full turns at Pier 35!
  5. Instead of keeping the Royal here in San Francisco, they give us the Crown. We, too, love the Royal. Of course, they'd rather give SoCal the nicer newer ships (Discovery).
  6. So Silvija took over for Jackson? If you recall, was Roshawn one of the servers?
  7. Alvin and Roel have the table waiting for you. Hahaha
  8. There's a juice bar that I missed on the last two cruises?
  9. I wish I had known too. I was with my brother and our mom - the table for 3 next to you. If I recall, you had a fifth person one night. We'll be on Royal again in April. Have fun on the Diamond. We sailed her during her inaugural season. See you on the next one. And you know I always post on the cruises that I'm working.
  10. You can see where I'm going.... we were the table next to you in Concerto!
  11. Earlier this month, the maitre d on the Royal gifted us one night in any specialty restaurant. Cruise Raider: it was from Daniele
  12. Yep. That was certainly a surprise. Catch you on the next cruise. We probably saw each other on board without realizing it.
  13. I worked traffic control for the cruise prior to ours (we're sailing Jan 6th too - I think you mean 2023 not 2022). I was expecting the worst since they are at near capacity. It went surprisingly well. A little before 11am, they were already calling elite and suites to begin boarding. About 15 minutes later, the next group (platinum maybe? I didn't hear the announcement) was allowed to board. (Yes, I snuck into the terminal to get warm - it was freezing outside). Then again, the prior cruise was at around 50% capacity, so probably a quicker turnaround.
  14. Sure. Why not? Give your luggage to the porters, and instead of waiting in line to get into the terminal, go and explore the area and return later.
  15. It's hidden. Under Travel Checklist, Click Personal Information & Documents Once it loads, underneath Required Information, you'll see Suggested. Click on Arrivals. Click your cruise date. Once that loads, at the bottom, you'll see Arrival Group. Click that and you'll get to what you're looking for. Took me quite a few tries to figure it out.
  16. It's now chili on the first night. At least it is for the seven day cruises.
  17. Thanks everyone. I finally gave in and downloaded the app onto my phone. I am now able to finish checking in. Just wish the October booking would have shown up on the web version so I wouldn't have to use the tiny buttons on my phone. I knew my friends on cruisecritic would show me the way!
