  1. Just got an email from RCCl…our Quantum of the Seas June 12 departure is not going to Skagway, now going to Ketchikan.
  2. I don’t understand why you would be willing to tip him extra for a service that was previously provided (and with an increase of daily gratuities). I am sailing in June and will not alter daily gratuities, but survey will start at “5” for housekeeping, exceptional service will get a “6”. Also have future cruises on Celebrity and Princess…they will still get a “10”.
  3. I checked the status every couple of days. I only got 3 emails from them…they received my application, they were processing my application, and they shipped my passport.
  4. If the service is not what you expect from your cruise experience, I hope you let your concerns be known.
  5. I did an online application on January 31. I did not pay for expedited service. I received an email the same day stating routine applications were 6-9 weeks. On February 6 I received another email stating that my application was being reviewed. This email said processing is now 8-11 weeks. When I checked my status on the site it stated "in Process". April 12 the status changed to "Printed". April 13 the status changed to "Shipped". I received the passport in the mail April 14 Total time 10 weeks and 3 days for normal service.
  6. They have taken it off the app and you can no longer book excursions on that date.
  7. We are on the June 12 Quantum cruise, if true, for those of you that have never sailed to Alaska and wanted to see a Glacier you will greatly be greatly disappointed if this change is true. We have sailed 3 previous times to Alaska on Princess and the sail into the Endicott Arm and walking to the Mendenhall Glacier are the highlights of this cruise. Just hope this an IT glitch.
  8. I agree. Let them know if you are not happy with the change.
  9. If we have been accustomed to having our room serviced twice a day and now being serviced once a day, is it still a 10, or is it a 5 since your room is now not as picked up as before?
  10. Guess I wasn’t clear pin what I meant. I almost always give the steward a little extra at the end of a cruise. They work hard for the money. Now I will only have my room done once. So I am having a hard time trying to figure out how what service he/she can now provide to get an extra tip. Perhaps if they stop by to pick up old towels and refresh ice bucket. I do hope they will get most of the extra auto tips for servicing the extra cabins they are now assigned.
  11. Isn't Marriott Grande Vista a timeshare? I haven't stayed at a timeshare that provided daily maid service.
  12. We stayed at the Marriott Harbor Beach and had daily maid service.
  13. Again, I don’t think the issue is about whether we NEED our cabins serviced twice a day. The issue is that they have cut back to once a day while increasing the daily service charge. So we paying more money for half of the previous service.
  14. Just because something is not offered up front, doesn’t mean it won’t be provided if asked for nicely.
  15. Did you notice that I said "requesting", not demanding? In all of the years that I have been cruising, I can't remember a single reasonable reason being denied. In fact, for the few times I have asked for something, the crew member seems to make it work.
  16. My point is…it’s a cruise, not like staying at a hotel. We are paying an extra fee of $17.50/day per person for a level of service not included in the cruise fare. This daily fee has increased over the years to hopefully get more money to the hard working people. When you go on a cruise you expect something more than your normal everyday experience and you paid for it. You shouldn’t have to give your room steward money up front to do the job that you expect him to do. If he does a great job at the end of your cruise, hopefully you will generous with something extra. If you don’t want service more than once a day or every other day just let him know. I will be requesting a morning service and an evening quick fresh up.
  17. The big difference is that you are on a cruise, not at home.
  18. Yes, that’s where we sat. Music was good here and we could talk to each other.
  19. What did you think of the noise level in the Grand Plaza? We enjoyed the music, but couldn’t stand the noise level. My Apple Watch measured the sound at 100db. We moved up a deck and the sound level was better.
  20. Was on Apex last month. Has Starlink stream, worked great.
  21. Apex had them last month. Equinox did not have them last October. Depends on ship.
  22. I am confused about the pre cruise internet pricing. It shows a 30% discount. Can I call to get the additional Diamond internet discount applied. Just got off Celebrity Apex and was able to call pre cruise to get both discounts applied. I understand they are two separate companies but wonder if they both have the same policies for pre cruise discounts.
