  1. To get into the legal weeds for a second… in the US (and I haven’t a clue how much of this applies to cruise ships) discrimination, even against a protected class, is both legal and generally considered morally acceptable so long as (1) you have a good reason (2) you don’t have a decent alternative way to accomplish that reason. Pregnant women are highly protected. Keeping late-stage pregnant women off cruise ships is a good thing.
  2. If you freaked out, image how your actual wife/girlfriend would feel. I wouldn’t want to have to explain this one 🙂
  3. Cruising now is better than any time in history. People complain about negative changes, but those have to be balanced against the constant change for god going on
  4. That’s one of the great things about sailing an inside cabin. You can’t be downgraded.
  5. Oh, a funny question about luggage. I thought this thread was going to be a question about funny luggage. Like, with amusing stickers or something. Don’t have an answer for the OP, but good luck.
  6. One fun thing about Disney: their ships do great horn battles when meeting.
  7. Note that cruise line sales are often bogus. This week it’s $800 per person. Next week it’s $1600 for one, second passenger free.
  8. Just me, but Alaska’s kinda cold in September. I personally wouldn’t do it.
  9. What you call alcohol, I call rheumatism medicine. And drink out of a jug marked XXX.
  10. I would have expected $0. While you always want more, $100/person plus 20% fcc ain’t bad.
  11. I can see Central Americans being confused if you try and convince them that this is legitimate currency 🙂
  12. Quick tip: if you bring less stuff, you need less “stuff that holds other stuff.”
  13. Quick tip, don’t confuse Meclizine and Mescaline. Two very different drugs. Though I suspect you wouldn’t have any seasickness issues if you took Mescaline.
  14. So, nobody is going to take the bait and post an amusing reply to the question asked?
  15. Nice review. We don’t see many Arcade reviews. Thanks.
  16. In the US at least it’s OTC. Not that expensive if you buy the name brand at a pharmacy. Dirt cheap if you buy the generic off Amazon.
  17. Meclizine. Works like a charm (for me at least).
  18. My opinion: Oh for Pete’s sake people, she’s not dangling over the water. She’s a few feet off the ground. Let’s not overreact.
  19. Don’t know. But you can always order a “vodka and soda” if that’s what you want.
  20. The trouble with the Concordia was with the corporation, the captain, senior officers and some of the crew. Now with passengers who hadn’t muster drilled yet.
  21. Oh my god, thank you. This triggered a memory I hadn’t thought about for decades. Mad crush on a girl in college. She got in big trouble because she and her roommates decided not to go out in the middle of the night when an (undoubtedly false) alarm went off in the middle of the night. Wonder what she’s doing now.
  22. Yes, although if one person in the cabin has a medical/person reason to avoid alcohol you can usually call and have them downgraded to a no alcohol package.
  23. I really enjoy having a drinks package. It’s nice on vacation to just get a drink without having to debate if I really want to spend the money on one more drink today. That said, several lines have priced their drink packages so high there’s no way I’m paying that.
  24. For someone who is skeptical about cruising, a week’s commitment is a lot to ask. While I 100% agree that it isn’t cruising at its best, it certainly a better option than not cruising.
