Thanks for posting these. It's been very hard to find examples of the real-life menu's post-rollout! You don't show the dessert costs - were they still $3 each?

Will check tomorrow but I think they are.   The apple pie thingy and tiramisu.  We had left

over truffles from the vines charcuterie plate so did not pay attention.

Not cool at all.  And this is the first I am hearing of a Sommelier on Princess, so I do question if that was really his job title.  I would not have accepted what they did and would have asked for a different wine if they couldn't give me what I wanted.  No way I would have paid for inferior wine.  A guest should be able to order any wine from the full list in a SD and not just the couple of examples they print in the SD menu.

He introduced himself as the Sommelier.   One sip of the substitute wine we new it was not what we ordered.  We definitely ordered a different varietal.   This is not the only issue with vines.   Last night we ordered a red and it was served in a blazing hot stemmed glass out of the dishwasher.  Needless to say we refused and they iced a glass, knew it was wrong.   Having issues with keeping Riedel glasses in stock as guests are taking them to other venues.

$44 per person seems pretty chintzy when you had COVID for 1.5 days--and you actually did the right thing by reporting it!

The FCC is based on the cruise price divided by the cruise days.  It excludes taxes, port fees, etc.

We've sailed Princess 4 times post-pandemic, and while the wine situation was very bad in the early days of the restart, with lots of OOS, we have noticed it getting progressively better with each successive trip. Although we're not wine snobs by any measure, we prefer to stretch the limits of our Plus or Premier package and order the most $$$ wines by the glass. On our last trip, in Feb on the Sky, there was not a single "sorry, we don't have that one any more" to be heard though I'm sure they occasionally run out of a few items. On a related note, I noticed how the wine lists in the MDRs were always far more expansive than in the SDRs. In the CG, Sabatini's or La Mer, the wine list was little more than a page or two, while the list in the MDR was many pages long and included the very $$$ bottles as well.  And on Celebrity this past June, we were treated to the ever-present sommeliers in all the dining venues. Sure never had to wait for a re-fill unlike P.

Crown Grill on the Sky has a Sommelier.   Very helpful as he should be, but very limited selection.   Most bars onboard have extremely limited wines, including vines.   Ordered a Shiraz the other night and they substituted, without informing us, for the cheapo wine.   When they did not have the wine we ordered they made a decision to substitute, but charged for the wine we requested.

You mixed up a couple of numbers.  For a minute there I was beginning to wonder if pricing was going to vary by ship.  But, no.  Menu photo confirms pizza a la carte is $8.50 and the specialty ones are $12. 🙂

I do think it will be a challenge for them to figure out enforcing no sharing in some circumstaces.  Of course anything a la carte is shareable.

    Sorry, thanks for correcting.

  6. We are in Alfredo’s last night and it was relatively busy.  There are two price points for alacarte pizza, $8.00 for your basics and $12.50 for specialty.   Shared pizza and salad, $17.50.   Server reinforced there is no sharing of the fixed price items.

I have included photos of the menus, sorry not the greatest quality.

Hopefully not on the Sky as the current coffee  in buffet, dining room and International cafe is disgusting, weak and not drinkable anywhere.  Never experienced this quality on any of our cruises.  I am not alone in my experience.

Thankfully they have kettles in cabins.  Purchased instant coffee in port to make a half way decent cup.

Definitely not on the Sky.  Walked past Princess Live as the barista was refilling the grinder.   A no-name Italian brand.
Trying a decaf Americano in the IC, weak.  Ordered an Expresso, also weak.

Not if you have  Plus or Premier.

From experience onboard the Sky.  If you are Elite and call for the afternoon tea there is no charge.   Still listed as complimentary.   Has nothing to do with which package you are on.  No charge on our account after 3 days.

I have to wonder how many people actually use the "shoe polishing" perk. I'm sure some do but can't imagine it's widely used. Perhaps I should give it a try.

DH has utilized the service.   Great job.

Will we be able to arrive at Carribean Princess in Quebec city on Oct. 19th at 10:30 pm and board?

We're arriving on a late flight.

I doubt very much.  There will be limited staff in the terminal, mainly security for those returning from visiting Quebec.   Definitely no one to handle bags.

We embarked last year in Quebec to Fll and boarding was slow to open,  arrived at terminal around 11:00am.  Bags took 5 hours to arrive.

Don't know as I did not get pricing for a full suite.

But I do not remember any obvious mentions of limiting the sale to certain categories.

Definitely not restricted by cabin categories as the both of the staff we spoke to quoted is multiple categories before we booked.
Yesterday when we booked the LA-Buenos Aires cruise for our grandsons to join us on this cruise they jokingly suggested we stay on for the entire season as it was available.   The boys fare was 50% less than what we paid or the balcony cabin next door.

     And:

o Trans-Atlantics and Trans-Pacifics though the end of the year

o South America cruises into next year

o Cruises out of Galveston for the coming season except for holiday cruises

As well as some Mexico out of San Pedro.

Thanks for the information, I will have to watch those screens now.😊

I would suggest stopping by the Future Cruise desk and checking.   Currently on the Sky.  Our minimal sea days has 3 staff available 8-8, shore days 8-12 and 2-8.  Stopped by this morning with absolutely no wait.  One and done.

Thanks for posting about your experiences - love seeing it from someone else's view!

Great to hear that the port has sorted out a new system to counteract the lack of arrival times.

This is this first cruise where the new casual dining changes have been rolled out on Sky Princess so would be interested to see if there is an updated Alfredo's menu if you take your family there!

Currently onboard the Sky and will stop by sometime and scan the menu.   Walked by this afternoon around 4:00pm, 2 guests, six staff.
Stopped by GS yesterday to see where we stood with the changes.   What we see in our Travel Summary is what we get.  Was offered the $10 upgrade to the new plus package.  No thank you.   Will use our OBC to visit Alfredo’s if we desire.   Other changes are irrelevant.
With regard to arrival times.   We had Princess transfer from LHR to ship.  Took just over 3 hours, left LHR at 10:06am, arrived QEII terminal around 1:00pm. After leaving the bus we were constantly on the move.  We had Medallions, QR code, Green Lane, Elite.   The guide did not question QR code, acknowledged medallions and off we went.   Stop at the counter with check in was maybe 2 minutes.   Scanned QR code, checked passports, off we went.  Extremely efficient.  Secret is, do not go at the crack of dawn.   Take your time, relax and then board early afternoon.Happy camper on the Sky.

  14. The 50% off cruises are a good deal if you know you are definitely going to travel.   Cannot use FCD as deposit, deposit is non-refundable non-transferable.    Yesterday on board the Sky booked our grandkids to travel with us to Antarctica in December 2023.   Fare was definitely 50% lower than what we paid for our booking (they are in the balcony next door).

Limited itineraries, can only be booked onboard.   Does not hurt to ask.

We are sailing Discovery Princess next year. We booked the transfer from ship to airport before selecting flights. Because of flight times, we are not flying out of Seattle until early the following morning. We plan to stay at a hotel close to the airport. I’m just curious…..Has anyone used the transfer without having a flight on debarkation day?

Absolutely you can buy a transfer from Princess leaving the Pier to the Airport.    You do not need to fly out the same day.   You would need to get yourself from the airport to the hotel.
