  1. The OP made it clear that they told the TA to cancel the booking and the TA followed those instructions. In the UK the situation described would be classified as "disinclination to travel" against which there is no insurance, no credit card refund and if you have booked with a non refundable fare, no refund. The lesson is to always discuss/research the options before you go for the "nuclear option" of cancelling.
  2. we changed to a B2B 48 hours before the start of the second cruise and the credit was approved within 24 hours and showed on our OB Account from the first day of the second cruise. Often the credit doesn't show until day 2.
  3. your free drinks start much earlier. The Elite breakfast includes: Bloody Mary's, Mimosas and "champagne", plus speciality coffees and smoothies
  4. the saving is good but not as good as your figures imply unless of course you really don't pay the auto grats.
  5. In our experience disabled also get priority. If it applies and it's not shown just ask.
  6. nothing to do with X. The staff a the ports are employed by the port not by X. Some ports enforce the times e.g. Southampton others don't. Since Covid we have found the check in's amazingly fast
  7. OBC the amount varies depending on the length of the cruise. You need 100 shares to get the benefit having extra doesn't get you extra. Only one claim per cabin per cruise
  8. Different doesn’t but not necessarily better. In our case, as we don't drink alcohol, X's system is way better. As Diamond + we would get 5 drinks a day. As Elite+ we get unlimited non alcoholic speciality coffees (hot and iced), specialty teas and hot chocolate. Enough free bottled water between 5 and 7 to last the next day, plus sodas (ginger ale, tonics etc ) and fruit juices to take into dinner (picked up in the Passport Bar) and a Latte with dessert.
  9. on the days when the Elite and above Cocktail Lounge operates you can still get Elite drinks at all the other bars i.e the Cocktail Lounge is an extra.
  10. Did you ask them direct I,e.contacted the assistance department? Every ship/cruise line we have been on has been different with each resulting in different issues. A few examples: Sky Princess: corridors and cabin doors are narrower than on S line ships meaning my wife has to fold her walker to pass the stewards trolleys and to get in and out of the cabin. HAL has lots of cabins that only have showers over the bath which are totally impractical for passengers with mobility issues. The taps on these baths are impossible for people with arthritis to turn ( we had to get the taps changed). Princess mini suites also only have the shower over the bath configuration.
  11. Just curious how that would help? Lets look at situation. Since Covid no air is recirculated inside the ship - fresh air comes in one side and out the other. Incoming air is filtered by an enhanced system that removes impurities including viruses that are smaller than the Covid virus. The ships crew live in more confined areas than any passenger and yet few get sick. The air in your cabin is replaced up to 12 times an hour so how would a small air purifier that might work in a sealed environment cope with that volume of air?
  12. On another thread someone asked " what about cans" I thought I would hedge my bets by including both.
  13. Yes. We get 4 bottles/cans sometimes they ask for your room card. If you want more just pick them up at a different bar. We also collect Ginger Ale and Tonic (the Boss, Anita) uses the Tonic to help reduce muscle cramps - works well even when it’s gone flat).
  14. I know - Post 3 refers to both ships and I was responding to that Post. From the Jim/Ian Post I assume that, apart from in Suites, the Revolution of both M and S ships involved no changes to the electrics in any cabins.
  15. he also said on Reflection there were 2 outlets I was correcting that as there are 3. I wasn't aware that any M class ship had been upgraded. As part of the changes on S class Suites have had new power and USB outlets but no electrical changes have been made to any other class of cabin - those still have the same 3 outlets by the Vanity Unit and no USB ports.
  16. no power sockets by the bed except in suites. On Reflection there were 3 outlets at the edge of the Vanity Unit not 2 - 2 US and 1 European
  17. on the whole the Beyond the Podium programme runs on sea days - the more seas you have the greater the variety of talks on offer and the greater depth the Speaker can go into a subject. This is one reason we like Transatlantics as there are general 2 regular events every morning plus specials.
  18. we always pre book for 6.30 (arriving at 6.15)and share a table of 6. X sets aside 2 hours for the slot so never felt hurried. Generally finish by 8.15 which is perfect for a Rest Room Break before the 9.0pm show in the theatre.
  19. I believe all cabins on E class, all suites on the revitalised S class ships. Who said we were OK about it? Just the way the ships were built. If you complete the Assistance Form accurately X will go "out if their way" to provide what you need. We don't book Disabled Cabins ourselves ( my wife has mobility issues, uses a walker and can just about use the regular shower) but we have travelled with friends who do and they have all been happy. Go with an open mind and enjoy.
  20. just curious which ships are you comparing? Your list of cruises on your profile doesn't include any on Celebrity. You have also ignored the huge storage space above the beds. May only be one closet but it is very wide. Your are correct that X's standard cabins don't have a power source next to the beds which is annoying.
  21. possibly because on M class the Al Bacio is much smaller than on S Class
  22. Sorry pushed to soon. We never use the App which seems to be notoriously unreliable. We do everything through My Account on the website
  23. so you weren't charged. I would put it down to a glitch in the system. As a curtesy we always tell the check in staff if we won't be dining the next night. If you have pre booked and then book a Speciality meal that automatically cancels your Anytime Booking for that night.
  24. No cancellation fee for Select/Any Time Dining. Pre booking is not compulsory just an option - we always pre book. Just like any restaurant if it's full when you arrive you will have to wait. Wait times will vary and if its more than a few minutes you will be offered a "buzzer" enabling you to wait in a venue of your choice.
