  1. Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your excursions in the Norwegian ports as well as the provided links. Of great help to others.
  2. Yes, ‘Chip and PIN’ cards are contactless - and most terminals are contactless. I do not know if US credit cards are different but if I use my contactless card for an amount above $55 I’m asked to enter my PIN code - the same if I make three contactless transaction within a certain time. I assume for transaction where a pin is required the terminal will be able to print a receipt for signature approval. Using Apple Pay doesn’t require pin.
  3. Might be This October fest Otherwise please tell when you’re i Copenhagen.
  4. September is basically before the autumnal equinox - sunrise around 7 am and sunset after 7 pm. Somewhat longer daylight at the beginning of the month. Yes, you will have separate bookings but if you have a reasonable time buffer it should not be a problem - The transport is very reliable. You must be on the upper deck before sunrise and at sunset to enjoy cruising the deep fjords.
  5. Also use Dewa for pick up at the airport and to the Cruise pier.

  7. If you are looking for October parties, I think you have gone to the wrong cities - there are, however, many beer events - here are examples in Copenhagen - If you are looking for something specific, it would be a good idea to provide more details and dates.
  8. Agree with @janetcbl If this is your first visit to Copenhagen, I would suggest that you spend the time in Copenhagen - significantly more interesting than a trip across the Øresund Bridge. If you want to travel by train, you can take the train from Østerport to Hyllie Station in Sweden and back - it takes 36 minutes and costs DKK 94 each way. Remember Passport.
  9. I’m aware of the shuttle but from the cruise pier to Skagen center operated by the harbor, but who is operating the bus from Skagen to Grenen (if any). I haven’t found any information on that bus for 2023. Important that visitors post here if visited Skagen after June 25, 2023. Previously there was a public bus service from Skagen to Grenen. According to the information I have, the city bus does not run after 25 June 2023. Hopefully there will be an alternative bus service to Grenen.
  10. My favorite ports are Flåm and Geritanger in the iconic deep Norwegian fjords - beautiful scenic sailing through the fjords into the harbors and breathtaking viewpoints or a trip on the Flåm railway. It is soon the last call as 'Zero Emission Zones' are introduced in the UNESCO world heritage fjords to Flåm and Geiranger from 2026. The possibility of visiting these fjords and ports by cruise ship will then be severely limited.
  11. There is absolutely nothing to see in Benoa - there are taxis available that you can take to Kuta for example - but I would recommend a private driver who can tailor a tour to suit your interests. Dewa, as mentioned in the previous post, is a very good choice - I used him several times during a longer stay. Please note that Dewa is a very common name - many call their first born Dewa.
  12. You might get more replies in the Western Europe Forum. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/148-british-isleswestern-europe/
  13. I have not used cash in Norway in many years. However I recommend a credit card with chip and pin - most shops, restaurants and taxis will accept approval with signature but if you plan to use credit card with small business, kiosks or vending machines you might not have that option. Also ApplePay is widely accepted.
  14. Most attractions in the area around Kongens Nytorv, but in general Copenhagen is very urban, very walkable and short distances away. Meny has mentioned Hotel Bethel in Nyhavn. There is hotel inspiration in this topic:
  15. you’re right. There used to be a public bus but the route is closed - I am not aware of public transport alternatives. I don't know if renting a bike is an option.
  16. Thank you. I'm happy to be able to give something back - I've used CC myself with great success when planning my own cruises.
  17. August 10 is also Jekteviksterminalen 2
  18. NCL Prima Will Dock at Jekteviksterminalen 2 at 07:00 - departure already 16:00 Jekteviksterminalen 2 Is the yellow and shortest route. On your way you’ll pass by the Bryggen Wharf.
  19. NCL Prima calls at both terminals - size does not matter. Post date if you want to know the resting terminal.
  20. Part of ‘icon of the Seas’ deck plan - ‘Family Infinite Ocean View Balcony’ at deck 9, 10 and 11 (up to 6 guests).
  21. It is easy to wander through Bergen and at the same time get a good impression of the city - also visit Bryggen wharf and the fish market. Tickets can be bought at the Fløibanen funicular but there can be a long queue - if possible buy tickets online or use their App when you know what the weather will be like.
  22. It is absolutely possible to walk. Depending on which terminal it is 1.2 or 1.8 km (15 to 20 minute walk). Best time depends on weather and temperature. Decide on the time of day.
  23. Yes, the Sea Zero initiative is specifically designed for operation along the coast of Norway. There is not that far between ports so it will also be possible to charge ships - they expect that charging can take place at half of the ports on the route between Bergen and Kirkenes.
  24. Check RCCL ‘Icon of the Seas’ - They ate introducing Family Staterooms. maiden voyage January 27, 2024.
  25. The date of travel is of course important, but to the best of my knowledge the best route is with Air France from PTP via CDG to LHR.
