  1. I didn't say that Blu was Specialty. Just said if they liked the service, it would be up to them whether or not to give something extra. And no, does not cover drinks thru room service.
  2. Keep checking for sales on the Celebrity site..Go to your booking. Go to manage your bookings, scroll down to specialty dining, and watch for sales. Got lucky as I book far in advance, and caught the unlimited specialty dining package at big savings, for the second leg of both of our btb's.. Good luck
  3. I'm not sure about the pooling of cash either. I think it would be too hard to track, and prove how much was given to an individual. I work my butt off cleaning up after you, you hand me a cash tip, IT'S MINE. I have heard that they pool tips in Specialty restaurants, but not 100% sure.
  4. Your beverage package works wherever you go. No extra anywhere, unless your drink goes above your package limit price per drink. If you enjoy your service in Blu, an additional gratuity is entirely up to you, but not required.
  5. Go to any of the Specialty restaurants, as soon as you can, and someone should be there to assist you with that...No need to go to the others. Try to have a plan of which one and the time you want before you get there, and they will TRY to accommodate your requests.
  6. Can't tell you because we thought it was absurd, just like you. It's Very nice, and very clean. We used the swim up bar pool, and the beach....
  7. Right..Good variety...And to be honest, and probably goin to get flak from this, but the pretty girl from the Philippines singing Sweet Home Alabama, is just not cutting it at a loud volume.
  8. Celebrity needs to train their music staff. Train them to play music in accordance with the time of day. Nobody wants anything loud first thing in the morning, nor after 8pm, unless at a venue. Some nice track walking music might be suitable before 11am. Then you can amp it up with a little Bob Marley etc. Work the crowd from there. Lunchtime to 3pm, a bit louder, as the crowd has a few cocktails in them, and should have loosened up some by then. Most important would be to teach them to choose song selections, by looking around and seeing the age group of the current cruisers. When school is in session, and only a few young kids onboard, they need not play loud rapp music, or puh puh poker face, etc. Adjust accordingly. Our trips are mainly when kids are in school, for the most part, but we enjoy most music...BUT not overly loud, as a couple Royal trips have been in the past.
  9. Exactly, all bases are covered. Bottoms Up.
  10. Pretty funny right. Suite paying guests carrying water bottles, and rushing to the breakfast n happy hour...Hmmm
  11. Where do you fill the water bottles you bring onboard? I'm guessing the machines at the buffet. Anywhere else?
  12. Grab one of those bosses walking around with the button down shirts, and they will get you some, unless they have zero onboard. Ask the crew member who is working that station...Don't be shy...
  13. Well, I kinda don't have a real point..I was reading, and the amount of folks posting about how they work their daily drinks out, just amazed me. And I understand the scrimping part. But if you have to scrimp like some are willing to do, it just ain't happening for me. That's all. Just saying that we will not play the game, and for us the package is it. Covers every beverage from taking meds in the morning till bedtime, and even our during the night sip or two of water. Mind you, we never drink at home. So it's not about getting a package to get bombed..It's a matter of having it when you want it, whether it is 2 or 10 drinks, because we are on vacation. No asking what we can and can't have, and not being upset when the cheap wine stinks. Or when they pour cheap rack booze into my glass instead of the good stuff, because what I drink is not available on a very limited, drink menu between 5-7.
  14. We aren't wine drinkers, so that idea is a bust for us. I like the Yeti idea, but when you have the package, the drinks are always cold..
  15. Ok so let's change that...It's your choice would be better. I admonish or insult nobody. That's your interpretation..
  16. Tried to change to a Sunset Veranda..Was told no more available. I'm willing to pay any difference if any. I've been calling periodically to see if there was any cancellations. None they tell me. Yet after final payment is made, I will receive the move up offer with some available. Don't understand, other then it must be to their advantage monetarily...
  17. I'm not sure I really had a point. Just personally feel that doing all these things, and limiting yourself while on vacation, is silly. Kind of defeats the whole idea of luxury, relaxing vacation. Again, to each his own.
  18. I understand that prices are higher than in the past. The world is changing, yet people still cruising, regardless of rising cost. I'm not saying any of you are wrong, and what you do is your business, but after reading post after post, it just amazes me how far people are willing to go, and what they are willing to do, to avoid paying for a beverage package of any type, especially Elite n Elite+ cruisers..All the money that has been spent on cruises to get to that level, and this has become a major issue. ..Who luggage tags cases of bottled water. Who carries 2 bottles in their carryon bag to embarkation. Who fills their pockets with water bottles. Who brings a giant yeti. Who carries a big tote to load up at Happy hour. Who hits 8 different bars during HH, to fill the room fridge. Who is smuggling drinks out of Elite breakfast and HH. Who has a friend get them a drink off their package. Who goes to the breakfast first for the freebies, then hits Oceanview. Who plans their day around how they can skirt the system. I'm sure there are other things done. Some say it's fun, but really. Last thing I'm doing, is any of those things. And definitely Not worrying about it months in advance, and surely not when onboard. While free, the limited choices are pretty much a joke, during those times for us personally. So we pay. Save in advance. Never think about it again.
  19. Has nothing to do with OBC...Strictly using the casino as the cash cow...It gets put directly on your room charge..Then your charge card, if you don't want to settle your acct before you leave. I do it each time, instead of carrying a wad of cash around, thru the airport etc. Then I pay CC in full when I get home..
  20. Currently running at $200 per nt, per person on Celebrity..That's the older ships..Newer ships are quite higher..Doesn't matter how many nights, or time of year. As far as your question, all cruise lines are recouping from pandemic. Better deals, lower prices, are extremely hard to find. I book as far ahead as possible, as soon as they post the new sailings. Well over a year ago. 2 BTBS, and a 7nt, this year. The difference between when I booked, and now, is substantially higher. If I were to try to book now, I may not be able to swing the cost for the trips I booked.
  21. Don't pay the fee...Go to the casino, insert your room card in any slot machine, set up an account, then withdraw the amount you want. The amount you take will be put on the machine as credits. Then just hit the cashout button. Then go to the cashier in the casino with the cashout ticket. They will then give you cash. The amount you take gets put on your room charge, which will be put on your credit card on file, if you don't want to settle your account before you disembark at end of cruise.
  22. I believe its a bit far away to book...In the event you are able to book soon, only those booking full price individual bookings, are able to book. Those who purchase a multiple night specialty dining package, whether discounted or not, must wait to get onboard to book their location, day, and time.
  23. Unless she has changed dramatically, she is a very nice person, that will take the time to chat, take pics, and has a wonderful attitude. We will look fwd to seeing her on BTB Beyond in April.. We took pics with her on her first cruise as a Captain, and will look to do the same on these cruises. Don't let what others say affect you. Part of her job is to promote Celebrity. When you meet her, you can make your own opinions...Enjoy your trip
  24. Gotcha...Last trip our attendant was actually sweating trying to keep up with his increased workload.... But she does run a tight ship...
