  1. Yes amazing how experiences can be so different...I sometimes wonder if I was on the same ship as the others, after reading the reviews...I will bet that everyone noticed how hot it was inside of the elevators...Don't know why, but warmest elevators I've ever been in, whether empty or full...
  2. Just got off yesterday after 15 nts. ABC'S first 8, Nassau, St Thomas, Antigua, next 7....Easily on ship in less then 15 mins, as long as you have your sea pass, etc..11131 IV Concierge for both trips..YES there was some creaking, and almost sounds like the room walls being twisted at times, if that makes sense at all. Not super loud but noticeable. Did not keep us awake..We liked the seemingly larger room because of this new IV balcony concept..I had my concerns after reading many reviews, but it ended up being just fine..Ship is new, clean, stunning, and probably the nicest ship I've ever been on..Regular crew were very very friendly and helpful, while a few of the white shirts should learn from them. Twice a day room service. 4 boxes of tissues, 6 rolls of toilet paper, blow dryer, in drawer in bathroom. Enough storage between the drawers, and the closet. Never had to ask for anything. Robes, umbrella, basic binoculars, but no fake slippers, in closet. Really big shower, but too close to toilet if you are a larger person..Luckily everything worked just fine for us...First 8 nts we ate in MDR, and chose Normandie, and Cyprus..Both were very good food and server wise, but expect to be sitting there for awhile. Noticed a few complain about the wait, but not a real big deal to us..Next 7 nts we had caught the flash sale discount, and did the Unlimited Specialty Dining which was excellent. Only problem was we had to cut down to 2 meals a day, in order to enjoy what we paid extra for...Fine Cut, Rooftop, Eden, Raw on 5, Le petit, in that order, with Fine Cut leading the way, and La Petit/ Bistro, at the bottom..Just our opinion...Huge ice cream sundae at Fine Cut if you can squeeze it in, after eating your appetizers, and entree..Oceanview was good, but got wore out with chicken drumsticks of every flavor...Many choices otherwise at each meal, with the ice cream area having the longest line on ship..Mast grill burgers, dogs, and fries was forever busy...Saw all the shows, which were good...Get there early for a seat at the 7:30 or forget it. Expect to meet a few unpleasant folks during this time..The saving of the prime center section of theater seats on deck 4 for suite guests, was not making the MANY fellow steerage passengers happy at all. Always a line at Cafe El Bacio, but they get it done..Bar service was good throughout ship, with pool bar busiest first and last days and on sea days..Many servers walking around nonetheless. High end stores are not for us, but had people shopping in them...Not the biggest casino...More of a CHILL OUT Ship, then anything else..Many many places to sit wherever you wandered....Low volume music most of day, with the afternoon/evening live music by martini bar, which attracted the before and after dinner crowd....Again after reading many reviews on here, I snooped a bit and watched if people were tipping after their meals, during lunch and dinner. We had pre paid for both trips but still give the little extra to each waiter. Majority of folks do not....90% do not, according to what I saw, especially in Specialty where they hit you for 20% automatically..Again your choice....Now for the bad...The ship was packed with handicapped, elderly folks. I've said this before. Celebrity needs to do something about port shuttles...The walk from ship to port is ridiculous in some of these places. Nassau seems like 10 miles from the far dock. And that's not the only port with a super long walk....Terrible...You can have a wheelchair but you need a pusher...So the 80yr old woman should push her 80yr old husband to buy a tee shirt for the grandchild, and have a stroke trying. Finally, we saw Captain Kate several times. We've sailed with her before in her early Summit days...She is assaulted for pics as soon as she shows herself anywhere onboard...Life of a Celebrity Celebrity I guess...She is gracious and never says no, even when she just wants a cup of coffee like everyone else...Bingo, Deal or No deal, attracted quite a few....Pickleball was always busy even on the 30 knot windy day....We truly enjoyed the ship, but price may prove to be the decision maker in future...We were lucky on these 2 trips. We were supposed to be on Reflection, but they changed ships, and gave us Beyond for same price, and deal as we had with Reflection etc, so we were thankful...
  3. Just got off after 15 nts, and actually thought it was rather quiet overall, especially on the pool deck where they could've turned up the volume a bit for my liking. I kinda thought that was because the age group of our fellow passengers, was age 60 plus, for the most part. Might've been the most canes, walkers, braces, scooters, that I've ever seen, on any class ship in the fleet. Agree about the small bar areas you mentioned..Eden entrance was interesting but not a good idea with the darkness, and things hanging head high as you walk thru...Somebody has had to have hit their head in there by now...Plenty of seats all around the ship, except in those bars, where it was definitely not enough seating. Eclipse in 20 days, hoping for best..Silhouette emerging as our new favorite, booked on her 4x next yr...
  4. Ty have read many...Trying the infinite for first time. Last time on edge was sunset veranda ...hoping for the no creaking zone
  5. Excited to say the least..BTB Beyond....We did Edge after covid, and was not the best timing, staff issues etc....Our hopes are high, and a review will follow our trips...Anyone having sailed on her, have any last minute ideas, tips, shortcuts, etc, they may want to share??
  6. I will have my first one with Kraken on Saturday, on Beyond....After 15 nts, Lord only knows what will be in my glass....
  7. Banana daiquiri with Meyers rum only. Then a floater of the same on top....
  8. Well enough said about this whole experience...I cancelled our 2/25 Summit...Been a great ship 8X, with great crews, but time to let her go...I'm sure they will figure it all out, but aside from the glaring issues by several posters, options are appearing now to be much better in S Class, for us...Replaced with a BTB Silhouette.....BETTER
  9. Reflection is doing 3 and 4 nt , Key West , Bimini, a coco cay, a Nassau here and there, from may - aug of 2025. FT Lauderdale
  10. Ok sounds like it was a good session, but I've personally had conversations with several crew over the years about this topic. Several we have sailed with a dozen times, and have a great rapport.. I've been told they are picked in advance, and move accordingly when able. Not ALL the best people, but many who have shown their workmanship to be above others. While some take it as almost a promotion, while others do not like going to the new ones, because of superior high expectations. I'm not always believing all that they say at theses sessions, although interesting to listen....They also say there are no cutbacks....Just a few tweeks, trials, which we all know to be untrue...
  11. I'm actually not too happy about hearing this...Have sailed this ship 8x, and have another booked on her in feb of next yr. The ship is having some other pretty serious issues according to other posts, sewage, engine power, decay, amongst others. I'm actually starting to think to look for another trip, as aside from these things, the options on the newer ships, are more appealing for what we like. Zenith was great, she got old. That was our first cruise .Now this favorite is having elderly issues, and quickly becoming not worth the big dollars to go on her. The towel thing would drive me nuts too, and cleanliness is most important...The little things we let slide, are adding up for sure...Beyond BTB in a couple weeks...Hoping for good things, and wish you better days
  12. Seems each ship is different...With the price we pay, you should be able to get pretty much what you want. Not always the case.. Not ever gonna pay $19 for a small lobster tail..We have the best in the Northeast...While I enjoy a real lobster, I also agree that this whole lobster dilemma, is overrated...
  13. The crew of the newest ships get picked from all the other ships...They take the cream of the crop...Seeing the room attendant or not, would not bother me, unless there was an issue..Towels are not an issue, just an oversight that is easily solved by looking for any crew out and about, near your room. 2 or 3 times same problem might be. Almost always is there an attendant or crew member of some sort, walking around. Water from your wine cooler dripping without a tray underneath, is something I would've wiped up myself, if it was flooding the area..Unclean is an issue for sure, and head of housekeeping would hear about that, if unable to address with attendant. It seems like there is not enough time for the attendants to clean the rooms from 9-11, as passengers are getting off and new ones coming on. The key at the door system lets you go to your room sooner, which we all love, but staff might not be caught up and finished. Yet we all run to dump our stuff off before we start to enjoy. Just not enough time for these workers. I have to add that folks are expecting to get every little thing that they ask for, no matter what it is, or what room class they are in. Not saying you in particular, but many have complained about some rather silly things...Things are truly not the same, as we have all noticed. I don't see it, or hear it being better on a different cruise line.. Lotta people, lotta cabins, less staff to get everyone a never melting ice bucket twice a day, and not enough time in the day. There is still a sense of recovery from covid, believe it or not...Crew left, and were off so long, that they got other jobs and never came back. Hope it gets better for you
  14. 2001 built, 2019 some refurbishment....Things break, and being out at sea does not offer all fixing options as when you are in port. Ship runs nonstop. Things are gonna fail. Not what we want, but it happens. Paint gets done on the fly when the conditions enable it. When folks smell the paint, or stain, or an area is blocked off for sanding , and staining rails, people complain.. Shabby, soiled, chair cushions, and chairs should be changed, and is a terrible appearance, warranting complaints. Sewage issues are 95% caused by fellow passengers thinking anything can go in the toilet. Which in turn leads to disaster for some unfortunate neighbors..2 engines, one for electric etc, one for propulsion..That is major and needs to be addressed immediately as possible. Pilot not docking, power losses, floating around, would make me a bit nervous too, as control of the ship is vital Summit is old, but we love it.. We go again next Feb..sorry to hear these issues and hope for better results...
  15. You purchased the Unlimited package. You must book once you are on the ship. You can't book on the planner. As soon as you get on the ship, go directly to any of the specialty restaurants. Snooze you lose. Early bird gets the worm. Usually someone will be there to assist you in picking out your restaurant, date, and time. Also, you could go to the Oceanview upon boarding, and there will be specialty dining staff standing outside the entrances, selling packages. They will also assist you...And good move getting this package..We really enjoyed going to each place, some twice. A few were open for lunch on Sea days, which was great, and part of your package..Enjoy
  16. We enjoyed it for lunch...Skipped breakfast and the morning banana daiguiri to save room...tried the fish tacos, chicken wings, lobster roll minus the roll, off the menu..Then demolished the fresh seafood tower singlehandedly...Small cutup lobster tail, 5 big scallops, 5 big prawns, cold mussels, cerviche in a bowl on top....Wife ate non seafood items and was pleased...Super fresh
  17. The Oceanview buffet has pizza most of the day, and late into the evening..
  18. Bottom line don't pack the pants till after dinner...You have time to change out of pants into shorts, before your bags go in the hallway. That is not to say I haven't seen some questionable attire in specialty rests...Not my business so whatever floats their boat...Also, I have worn shorts in the theater and never been told not to..
  19. If you book individual night specialty reservations by phone without having package, you get charged whatever the current offer is, or full price if no offer. But doing it this way allows you to book time, and restaurant choice, right then. If you have purchased a package of any type, you must wait to book when you get on the ship. Go directly to one of the specialty rests once onboard, and they will help you. They save some dates, times, and rest choices, for those who have the packages...Otherwise, Snooze you lose....good luck
  20. It appears to be hit n miss on different ships..Last 7 cruises Equinox, Summit, Silhouette, Edge, in Concierge, and Prime concierge, and never saw them or even heard about them until now....I'm thinking your room attendant could, and would get them for you if you asked...Probably better to bring your own though..
  21. You didn't mention how many in your group...If you have a large group that wants to stay together, yes it may be worth it. Otherwise, there are plenty of great spots to sit around the ship as others have said, but those have no special service, and may not have enough seats together for you....Drinks are easy to get on your own. Bar staff walks around pool deck and you have the premium, so it seems you just want a spot of your own without the chair hog/save situation..
  22. One more thing...We had footstools on balcony of Silhouette, along with all the other things.
  23. Have not seen them yet in any concierge room we've been in...Robes, umbrellas, small binoculars, shampoo, body wash, moisturizing cream, afternoon canapés, pillow selection, Celebrity key holder, better room location, but no slippers...
  24. I feel that we have already had the best of times cruising, deal wise...I have several more booked with some pretty good perks still, but past that we will have to see...
  25. I did actually read that, but thought I might ask around and see if anyone is experiencing anything better....TY
