  1. BTB starting tomorrow. Will let you know when we get back, as wife will surely have me attend all shows etc. We move around during the day, so should see and hear, any daytime music. ...
  2. No refillable cups. Can go to any bar, or bar service staff, walking around, will get you a soda.
  3. It's all about trying to make up, for what they lost. The minimum bid may never again come down to where it makes it easy to jump up and make a bid
  4. My first comment if you read it, was that I was just surprised at how much of an issue, noise was. Simply that. The reply to me was a bit nasty..As was the next. So you get what you give. If you further read, you would see that I'm severely handicapped, so my time is here. Very few respect that either on most ships. Manners are nowhere. But I deal with it, and adapt, without looking for special treatment, or crew to fix the problem. And will never look for any sympathy.
  5. When I'm on a ship, I fully expect there to be loud music, alot of people singing, occasional cheering, a few kids running around, and people enjoying themselves. Throw in Cabin crawls, slot pulls, Zumba, and karaoke..25 cruises btwn Celebrity, and Royal. 60 yrs old with severe osteoporosis..Cane in my hand. I go knowing what I'm gonna be up against. I plan for any possible scenario, that may affect me. I don't expect any special treatment because of it. I adapt as things happen. I continue to remember that I'm on a luxury cruise ship with over 3000 people having a great time. I personally would not do anything, that may cause me pain, or anxiety. Whether on land or sea. And I most certainly would not expect them to lower the music, because of a few who don't like it.
  6. Or join you in your closet with your earplugs. I'm sorry but having an issue like this, would not deter me from going on a cruise. But if I had this, I would figure a way to deal with it, if it was that important to go. A cruise ship loaded with guests having a great time, might not be my first choice. Especially with the distress, and anxiety, that this causes, as per google.
  7. I have heard of this. Which makes me wonder. Maybe those who have this hearing issue, should try a library or a funeral home for a vacation, instead of an active cruise ship...
  8. Never realized that noise was such an issue for so many folks. A few times only, and probably from a few too many cocktails, have we heard a bit of excessive noise.
  9. Right...Bottled waters alone, add up. Bottom line is, it's all part of the cost of the trip. I considered the justification thing once, and never again. BTB Summit for us also, in a few weeks. See you by the pool bar....
  10. Looking for freebies on a cruise. Nowadays? And alcohol to boot? Call up and see. Maybe you could try and book a reduced rate room thru the casino...Casino will save you money on the cruise fare. Then you would have the saved cruise fare money, to buy the drink package pre cruise, at an additional savings.
  11. The dispensers don't weigh much. Have Mr. B lift it up and carry it to guest services. I'm sure they will fill it quickly.
  12. I think you may have had a one time bad experience. We sail majority Celebrity, with several RC Oasis class, under our belts. On a few occasions, we have seen witnessed a person who needed an assist to walk back to their cabin. But no harm, just a bit too much fun.
  13. We have done this. The whole Island. It was a great time. If sun is out, you will burn the side of your body that sticks out of cart. So you will need to switch drivers to equal out the burn. Suntan lotion a good idea in any event. Bring a beverage to start out your journey..Doing it again end of April. Already reserved.....
  14. $20 with tip for 2 one way. Just did it
  15. Symphony was twice a day as of the last 2 weeks.
  16. Aside from making extra cash, that is probably the reason. Honestly have to say that people were not really concerned about the messes they were leaving around the ship. Staff tried very hard to keep up with the scattered glasses, spilled drinks, half full stacked up plates of wasted food on tables, and food on floor in buffet. So yes, This would seem to be a major reason.
  17. Back to back. Arrived Miami port by taxi, and other than a little traffic, was pretty quick. Dropped bags off, walked and stood on a moving, short line, and right into checkin. Fast for us, maybe not for others, but maybe good timing. We arrived 11:45, for 12-12:30 checkin. Ship is stunning. Beautifully maintained, clean as a whistle. Crew takes pride in this ship. Captain Angel, and his staff, have it well in hand. Dined at Chops, and Central Park 150. 3 and 4 times respectively. Awesome to say the least. Great service in both. Delicious choices in both. Other 5 nights we did the buffet. Never stepped in Main dining room. That is just our choice. Couldn't comment about it. We also ate breakfast and lunch a few times in buffet. Otherwise our spot was Park Cafe, for good salads, and killer roast beef. Many chose the RB sandwich, and some had 2 or 3 on a plate. An obvious fan favorite. Wife tried the Chicken dog on the Boardwalk, was not overwhelmed. Also tried the very long line at Loco fresh, in order to get the tex mex fix. Basic but did the trick. Another favorite of the customers. Sorrentos pizza was always busy, was ok, not many choices. Didn't try any other food options, as there are many. I went off of my past experience, on Oasis and Allure, and reviews of the other options. Super active ship, with a lot of kids running around to be quite honest. Water slides, water park, Abyss non water slide, were big with kids and adults. Multiple sports activities. Really good music all day on the outer decks. Awesome, professional bar staff. Wainright best tender on ship, hands down. Abraham also gets the nod. Tried Bionic bar. Pretty cool, spills a few drops, but makes decent drink of choice. Central Park Balcony room. A lot of storage, plenty of room for us both. Peaceful balcony with birds chirping. What else. Let's see. Oh yeah. Smokey casino. Doesn't stop people. A few bad sea days for the invisible chair hogs. A lot of chairs all over the decks, but the professional hogs got up early to place their belongings, and towel clips, and then go off to do their thing. No Chair Police. They got away with it. Good shows. Only one bad thing to say. Royal needs to assist those, of any age, who can't make the mile long walks off the ship and pier to get to the terminal. No wheelchair assist at all by Royal, except in Mexico, but by local pushers on the dock, making tips, and only a few of them. Ship is big, docks are long and far from gangway to terminal. Disembarking went smooth. Plenty of taxis. First part of trip, we may not have made the early flight out of Ft Lauderdale, as the walkoffs did not get off till little after 8...Second time would have made it, as they walked off at 7:30, but we had opted to take later flight, so not to be panicked the whole time. Overall, Beautiful ship
  18. Every night the smell of fresh popped corn, would fill the air on several decks of Symphony. Right by the theater, ice rink, jazz club, etc. Like bait for a fish. People upon smelling, instantly walked right over to the popcorn machine to get some. People of all ages. And then it happened. 98% of those people did the same exact thing. They gasped, then spurted out the same thing in not always the same exact words. THEY WANT HOW MUCH? IT'S NOT FREE? NOT FREE FOR ANYBODY? ARE YOU KIDDING ME, was another common saying. YUP. $ 2.50 a small bag.. I will never forget the pained looks on those faces.
  19. Let Royal pay the people behind the scenes. You pay plenty to go on a trip these days. Tipping is an option for services rendered during your stay. Amount of tip is determined by your experience, and feelings overall, about how the trip went. We personally tip above the already taken out 18%, at Specialty restaurant. Personally hand our room attendant more then they say we should, even when having pre paid gratuities. But still have a hard time not seeing where it goes when they just take it.
  20. Once again ty Joe. And once again, had you read further, you would see that I already rebooked my flight, after the first few comments I received from others. Having not done this trip since before covid, I hoped that someone had recently had a similar situation, and could enlighten me about any types of local delays, cab issues, etc. You know, I kinda stopped coming on the site, because of experts like you. Apparently you must have the time to troll the pages and pick out the posts where you can try to make people look bad. I've been on this site, 5 yrs longer than you. Seen many like you. Now maybe you will follow my advice, and be nice to those who are not currently, as travel savvy as you. Oh, and follow the entire story line before you unleash your wisdom.
  21. Hey Joe. Maybe you missed my follow up comment, of my post. Southwest changed my flight on me outta nowhere. So thanks for your slight bashing, and remember to be kind.
  22. Not my original choice. Southwest just recently changed our flight. With all things considered, I just changed it to a later flight. TY ALL
  23. Symphony docks in Miami at 6am. How soon can we walk off for early 9:40 flight? Flight will board at 9:10 am. Anyone travel from Miami cruise terminal to Ft L airport, and any idea of how long it takes? TY in advance. It's been a while..
  24. Cruised Allure last May, so will see a comparison, and will report upon our return.
  25. Keep watching as it gets closer to your day. Booking before boarding is usually cheaper. That 160 is currently for 2 people per day. You could book now, and if it went lower, you could call for adjustment. Salute
