  1. When the real Captain's away, the crew tends to stray.....
  2. More than likely unless they built another brand new ship for her. We sailed with her on her first Summit trip, years ago..
  3. I personally do not see what the big deal is with this breakfast, as it is pretty limited..But some truly enjoy it. Keeps them from overloading at the Oceanview for sure. Another perk we just don't use. Underwhelming, when it should in fact have selections with a special twist, that are only served there for those who have achieved this level...
  4. I used to get the premium, but now we get classic included in our booking. Not worth the uncharge anymore. Rising costs are changing the game. We get a cocktail, then a bottled water or two. Repeated all day. We usually have 6-8 cocktails each, spread out thru the entire day. Throw in the specialty drinks at el bacio, and we happen to benefit from the package. We always bring waters back to the room, for our meds in the morning, and a sip during the night. Never a problem, and always get a drink when we want. No worries. No luggage tagging cases of water. No carrying a sports bottle around, looking for a sink, or water dispenser to fill it up.. Not happening. Nor will we try to figure out how we can smuggle drinks out of the dining room, or Elite HH. We have never even been to HH, as we can get a drink of our choice anywhere, and not a limited menu. Like has been said, you gotta figure what fits for you, and what you are willing to do, and not do, on your vacation.
  5. Those were the days. Glad you have good memories, cause those days are gone
  6. Get the classic package and have her switch it up for the trip, and try a nice Bay Breeze. LOL
  7. You are right. It's alot. I'm thinking that it might be a good idea for Celebrity to put out a memo to the crew, to not stand around casually, often awkwardly, waiting for a tip after the meal is over. I've seen this many times, on many Celebrity ships..It is uncomfortable for some folks....Yet, the choice is still yours..
  8. People booking a single night in advance, get to book right away. They get their choice of restaurant, time and day, if available. Those that spend a lot more, and book in advance a multi night package at usually a discount, have to wait to get onboard to book. Go figure. In that case, it's best to get onboard and work your way to one of the specialty restaurants, and book asap, for best available selections.
  9. The waitstaff fully understands that you already paid the 20%, that used to be 18%. They know many people will no longer throw them THE EXTRA, due to the increase. But I give at least a $10, most times a $20 if all goes well.. I'm usually happy with the service, as we dine regularly in Specialty. I would otherwise just waste it at roulette, or a slot most likely anyway.
  10. If there is a difference between Sunset veranda gratuities per day, and the Sky Suite per day, you would owe that difference....Enjoy your trip, we love Eclipse
  11. I believe that the concept was to build a family fun island, that has everything a sunny, hot, salty, sandy, tropical island offers. All within walking distance for most people. No hustle n bustle, no cabs, no traffic, no pushy vendors, and extremely safe. While it can be relaxing laying in a lounger, and you don't have to spend anything extra if you don't want, this doesn't seem to be for you. So no is my answer, unless you have a good sun hat, and stay on the mostly sand free walking paths to get around and see some pretty flowers.
  12. One more little thing. The water, in pool , or water park, or beaches, will most likely be chilly in the spring. We were on Allure in May, and experienced the chill. A few stiff cocktails might help with the polar bear plunge....
  13. Very nice to walk around. Swim up pool, same bartenders and waitstaff as on ship. Drink package works at any bar, the same as on ship. Swim in the pools or the homemade beaches. Burgers, hotdogs, chicken, make your own nachos or tacos, some salads, included at eateries. Also some food available at any snack stops. Then you got the not for free stuff. The water park, which was a bit much per person. The Zipline, balloon ride, kayaks, floating mats, snorkel gear, all have a fee. People had mentioned the good chicken wings at Captain Jacks, which was ala carte also. Several grass hut souvenir shops, operated separately from the cruise line. Pricey trinkets that we honestly did not need. But available for those shoppers looking for a Coco Caye item. Very clean place, clean restrooms. Food was basic bbq food. A one and done for us. Those with children, extra $$$ put aside, or a low interest charge card, might feel differently...RCCL money maker island
  14. A Very Happy New Year to all of you. Hope you all the best of health, and a great year of cruising.. Let's all make a resolution to stick together the best we can during these changing times, and continue to share our cruising experiences, and other pertinent info, whether good or bad. Enjoy
  15. I'm sure it was similar to a pack of feeding hyenas..Similar to embarkation day in Oceanview. I witnessed it on Edge...Didn't know they were having it. Happened to catch it during lunch one of the days at sea. Beautiful display that was attacked like it was the last meal on earth. Snooze you lose. First come first served.. Half full plates left on the table is not uncommon. Terrible waste of food.. Yet, I believe it's more of a money saving issue, cutback. The days of getting more for your dollar, are gonzo..
  16. Glad to hear..Sailed her twice...Will do the Bermuda trip in June. Actually loved the Oceanview for dinner, as the selection of grilled fish was awesome at the time..Hoping for a repeat....
  17. They ask you for your card when you play the tables. Slots automatically track your play. Make sure you give them your card at each table. If you are playing that much, you should ask the casino host, to track your play. I'm considered Amethyst level, and to be honest, no free rooms are being offered to us. Amethyst is like middle level..We feel that we play quite a bit, but are nowhere near the higher rollers that I've seen onboard. I've actually heard of first or second time cruisers being offered more then us after 25 cruises. Ask to be rated by host
  18. Kinda why I booked the way I did. After a few days of the first trip, I'm going to see if they will book me for the second part of trip. Being we are there already. Avoid the rush.. Or just wait till we do the BTB layover, and do it when they reboard us.
  19. I ended up booking the unlimited on the second leg of both of our BTBs...Will try the dining room and buffet on the first part of each trip. Silhouette in February, Beyond in April....Remember they add the gratuity when you book. Happy Holidays
  20. Scroll to the next page to read my post about this. It's a great deal, but there is an issue. If you buy the package at the discount, you must book onboard. Those that pay full price for a single reservation, can book beforehand. This becomes an issue with the times to dine for those with the package. Many time slots are taken before you even get on the ship. We are doing it and hoping for the best. We also booked concierge, and with that comes priority booking....Or so they say. Will see.
  21. Currently showing 8% off on planner. Until 12/27. $77.99, regularly $85
  22. Elite Plus gets 15% off Specialty Dining
  23. And just as I said I probably would earlier, I booked the second leg of our BTB Beyond....Lotta OBC on second trip..
  24. I did actually read the planner, and was skeptical, thus prompting my post, then the call to CC. Like I said, we will see onboard...That's the only way to truly know, I suppose..The ala carte $30 lunch and $50 dinner has been that way in the past, but not always held to the penny, if you do go over said amount.
