  1. Don’t worry. As others have said, they’re typically locked only for window washing, high winds or rain. I had an IV stateroom for 15 nights on the first Edge transatlantic, and I can’t recall my IV being locked for any other reason. They were never locked very long.
  2. The cruise is over, and I doubt that I could have “converted” back to the CBP. Upgrading future CBPs is certainly in the balance. We each have our own tipping point when it comes to being frustrated with the value provided by a business. Mine is no less valid than anyone else’s.
  3. We’re patient when a couple of items on the Premium package aren’t available, but our last cruise had far too many unavailable items. I don’t care about their supply chain issues. They’re a business. They should have fallback plans. They shouldn’t market Premium packages if they can’t provide premium beverages.
  4. In my experience, the volume varies by ship, venue and sailing so it's impossible to make predictions about future cruises. With one notable exception, I've found the music and theater volume acceptable on both Edge class and Solstice class ships (including post-shutdown cruises on Edge and Equinox). The exception was on one of my sailings on Reflection, on which the canned music in the Ocean View Cafe was painfully loud, to the point that almost everyone was complaining. After first spending a couple days telling us the volume level was a "corporate decision" the staff finally turned the volume down.
  5. Unbelievable. I got the old, “we’ll have it tomorrow” too. Yup. No Decoy or Caymus. I did have the Opulence cab a couple times. Mind you, I’m not wedded to specific wines, but I do expect equivalent quality in the wines they do offer. In Murano, I gave up and ordered a bottle of Grgich Hills cab😋 The odd thing is that everything was available on Edge last October, but Equinox was poorly stocked in April. If they’ve changed suppliers they should ensure their wine quality or reduce the cost of the Premium beverage package.
  6. Oops! Meant to say Caymus Cab, which has previously been available for a small upcharge over the Premium Package.
  7. I would have to say I agree with you when I consider the Premium (and above) wine selection on my recent cruise on Equinox. I like a nice Cakebread Cab on occasion, but it was not available anywhere on my 12-night cruise. Neither were several Premium Cabs and Sauvignon Blancs. They were also unable to supply large bottles of Evian and Acqua Panna for most of the cruise. However, my DH was able to find acceptable beers (Leffe, Franziskaner, Sam Adams, Guinness) and we were both able to obtain cocktails made with Premium spirits. We barely break even on the Premium package, so I do hope Celebrity ups their wine game before our next cruise!
  8. Yes, I saw the change on the RCCL website several days ago. Many on the Celebrity forum have speculated that Celebrity will follow suit, but they’ve not yet done so. Having three b2bs booked, I myself would love to see this change. It would be nice to see the pre cruise testing discontinued (based on my recent experience on Equinox, I’d say quite a few people tested negative before boarding but became spreaders - asymptomatic or not - during the first few days of the cruise) but that will surely be the last thing to go.
  9. Yes, but so are many things that are merely speculation. Post a link to a reputable source. Until I see the update in the Celebrity website, I will assume that testing will be required between legs on my b2bs. From the Celebrity website: Back-to-Back Cruises Guests sailing on back-to-back cruises must show proof of vaccination and are required to take a COVID-19 test producing negative results between each sailing. Guests who are not fully vaccinated or are not eligible to be vaccinated, are not able to sail on back-to back-cruises.
  10. You should check the source, not social media: https://www.celebritycruises.com/health-and-safety
  11. Lol I was editing my post while you were writing this post. Sorry. I should have finished your other thread before querying you. Great view!
  12. I think we’re on the same page🙂 We prefer turning up when we’re ready, and once we find wait staff we like, we try to stick with them. Having recently experienced a Sky Suite on Edge and an Aqua cabin on Equinox, we’ve decided that future bookings will be in aft Sky Suites on S-class, and either Sky Suites or SVs on E-class. Would you say your Vista suite is similar to a Sky suite? Is the dining experience comparable (including your enjoyment of the food)? Update! Just saw your post comparing suites, so please ignore this😁 I’m not quite caught up, but I’m enjoying your review very much. Thank you!😊
  13. It’s great to see your thread! Having enjoyed your previous live reviews so much, I’ll definitely head to Princess for your live blog. My DH and I have considered Princess for the Panama Canal transit, but have had some reservations (based on reviews made by friends). Knowing we share similar tastes and preferences, your review will be extremely helpful.
