  1. Yes, a few of us are staying on to San Diego. Many who boarded in SD are leaving in Miami. We’re so glad we’ll have one more segment to enjoy this wonderful experience.
  2. Waterside is open for lunch on sea days and closed on port days. It will be open on a port day only if you arrive in port later in the day. And I’ve only seen it open on embarkation day once, and that was when we boarded in San Diego. Tastes is the only option for table service at lunch, but the menu is limited.
  3. I am currently on the world cruise. Most men are wearing sport coats, with or without ties; a much lower number are wearing tuxes or white dinner jackets. Personally, I think someone not wearing a jacket would feel underdressed for formal night. However, I have seen one or two men on occasion wearing only a long sleeve shirt and they’ve never been refused entry any where on the ship. We’re all having too good of a time to care much.

    Casino?

Yes, they are. This was confirmed by Fernando on the WC, but no timeframe out yet.
  5. We are currently in an Aquamarine Classic on the Serenity, and there is a European outlet between the mattress and the night stand on the side closest to the veranda. I’m using it to charge three devices with the adapter.
  6. We received our package today, as well. We could do with one more boarding luggage tag, as we don’t need to ship any luggage, but I will make a copy of a tag and put it in a clear plastic holder. We can’t believe that it’s just about here🥳.
  7. As we are going to be on the WC, we would definitely stay on board, as well. Yes, it would be a lot of sea days, but it would be a lot better than being at home doing our own cooking and clean up and making our own beds. My husband is a good butler, but he hasn’t had the expert training that Crystal’s butlers have had🤣.
  8. This has been such a great thread to follow, as we will board Serenity in just a little over two weeks. Does the ship have Press Reader? Not that the news is anything I want to be subjected to on my cruise, but my husband does like his sports pages.
  9. Oh, this isn’t good for world cruisers, is it?
  10. That osso buco looks amazing. Does Crystal provide marrow forks?
  11. What time are the snacks brought around, or can you choose a time?
  12. At least The Bistro and Marketplace have sneeze guards. Not the best prevention of illness but better than nothing.
  13. I agree with you. We were recently on a Regent cruise; and two days after a Grand Buffet norovirus was going around the ship. It got so bad that dining tables were no longer set until we were seated. Fortunately, we had avoided the buffet, as well as the virus.
  14. Thanks everyone for your responses. I’ll be sure to avoid class time, definitely not my thing. History&Wine, I’m sure our paths will cross, especially at one of the WC events. Den and I are looking forward to meeting you.
  15. I’m embarrassed to admit that in my decades of cruising I’ve never used the fitness center on any ship, or pretty much anywhere else. On the WC I might be inclined to use a stationary bike. What is the protocol for using the fitness center? Will I need to check in, wear gym clothes or can I wear casual daytime clothes? If the bikes are all in use, is there a sign-in sheet for use? Are the seats easy to adjust? I’m such a newbie for being so old.

    Athens Hotel

I second the Hotel Grand Bretagne. We were there in November and loved it. Both restaurants at the hotel, rooftop and lobby level, are outstanding.
  17. Keith, is there some where that tells us how many cruise credits we earn for voyages of varying lengths? Thank you. Have a wonderful cruise. We can’t wait to start our first World Cruise February 3. Bags will be packed soon.
  18. Aw, Jim, I wish you were staying on board until Papeete. We board in San Diego for our start of the World Cruise.
  19. Thanks, Phyllis; I’m happy to learn this.
  20. For those of you who have been sailing recently, are the gentlemen adhering to the tux or dark suit requirement, or has there also been a mix of sport coats and dress slacks? Anyone being denied entry in the dining room or other public rooms? Thanks for your input.
  21. My vote for essentials on the new builds would be Umi Uma, full promenade deck, and an open Starlite lounge.
  22. Three times on the Harmony: 1992, 2002, 2004.
  23. Can someone please tell me where the 110v. electrical outlets are located in the Classic Aquamarine stateroom on Serenity? Thank you so much.
