If you have access to a Kennedy Space Center tour

Any idea how much the fee is? Specifically for PC > MCO if that makes a difference.

Anyone use a certain luggage storage/hold location in Orlando? Our flight out of MCO isn't until 7P, and I figure we'll get to MCO around Noon (if not earlier). We can't check luggage until 4 hours before flight (Delta), and I'd rather not have to just sit with luggage piled around us for 3-5 hours. There are six of us travelling, so probably 10+ bags including carry ons. We have a private shuttle arranged to pick us up from the port and transfer us. I'm not really interested in another excursion. Ideas? Thanks!

We're flying out of CVG July 16 to board Mariner on the 17th. DW and I have already discussed it... if our flight gets canceled, we're driving to Florida! It should be a ~14 hours, it will be a crowded minivan (4 adults, two teens), but we're going to do our best to not miss the cruise. Of course, our flight is at like 4:30P, so we need to make a call around 7-8p on what we're doing.

That's exactly what I do. I'm not letting the CPAP go in checked luggage, at the airport or at the dock.

Have you not gone into SOME store, attended SOME event, been around SOME people not of your household for the last 2+ years? Do you ask THEM if they've been tested daily? I understand being concerned about getting exposed, don't blame you. BUT, you get the same chance of exposure no matter where you are (grocery store, sporting event, work, etc). It seems strange to me to focus on the Labadee vendors when you're getting ready to get on a ship with 5000+ of "your closest friends".

Any need for bottoms other than shorts?

You may want swim trunks. Or just swim in your athletic shorts with built in underwear. -
Eight of the ten Walgreens around us are offering Rapid NAAT tests.

We're six weeks from our cruise, so it's about time for me to start "worrying" over the details. We are scheduled in port from 7am-2pm on a Friday. We have a 1/2 day tour with Big Beard's that's supposed to go from 9:00-12:30p. From what I'm reading it's about 30 minutes between Christiansted (that's the cruise ship port, correct) and Frederiksted. My questions: 1) Assuming we're done at Big Beard's at 12:30 (heck, even 1p), we should have no problem getting back to the ship on time, correct? 2) Is there a "best" way to accomplish this? I'm thinking taxi, but is that the route to take? Is there a private shuttle that can be arranged in advance? 3) There are six of us, what would an estimated cost be? Anything else we need to know? TIA

How was boarding? Are they enforcing assigned times? -
Outrageous Cost of Alcohol Package

According to that, I need 6 frozen drinks each day PLUS 10 bottles of water. Yup, not for me. -
Perfect! Thank you!

This is all that's showing: So, any advice on what time to show up (which of course affects our pick up time in Orlando)? Thanks

OK, snagged an 11AM boarding time. What time should we plan on arriving at the port? There are six of us (with luggage), Port Canaveral, Mariner OTS, using a private shuttle. I'm guessing between 1030-1045 to get luggage dropped off with the porters before going to the terminal? TIA.

OK, I'll bite. How does having your own tests make you "sure" (your word) you don't infect anyone? Are you testing daily? Or just if/when you have symptoms? Can't you have (and spread) covid not only before you're symptomatic, but also before a test comes up positive? I can get a runny nose with a temperature/humidity change. Lasts maybe 30-60 minutes, then goes away. I guess I should test?

I wouldn't go that far. We dropped off our renewals at a passport facility (actually the county clerk's office). BUT, we only did that because we were there getting new passports for our kids. 🙂

Outrageous Cost of Alcohol Package

You can't do that if you don't have a drink package? Someone forces you to finish every drink? -

Totally agree. On a Sea Day, even for me, a "casual" drinker, I can easily break even. it's the PORT days that mess me up. Because those put me "behind" the curve. Let's say you need 5 drinks a day (5*15=$75) to "break even". I'm not including the coffees, juices, waters to just keep things simple. Now, how many sea days vs port days (non private island) do you have? Let's say on a 7 day cruise, you have 2 sea days, 1 private island (basically a sea day), and 4 port days. You still need 35 drinks over the course of the week. If you only get 3 on port days, you need to make up the other 8 on your sea days. I think the question of whether you WOULD normally drink that much is a good one. Take cost out of the issue, would you drink 35 drinks in a week? -
You can just mail in a renewal form. You don't need to go to an acceptance facility.

Outrageous Cost of Alcohol Package

You're both wrong. the winners are the cruise lines that I *GUARANTEE* are making money off selling the package. Maybe not off you, but from the majority of people. -
Outrageous Cost of Alcohol Package

If I had a cruise with all sea days, the DBP would "make sense" for me. Doing some rough math based on the above, looks like ~$100 (assuming "a few beers" = 3 and "a few glasses of wine" = 2). However, port days is where I lose interest. So the drinks I would normally have on board (at least 2-3 if not more), I can't take advantage of in port, so that means I need to "make them up" on other days. -

If the issue was "what you truly need", then no specialty restaurants would be on board. Take the Spa out. Demolish all the cabanas on Labadee and Coco Cay. Bye Bye to the Ship's Tour. They can get more room by taking out the arcade. Heck, shrink the cabins to a single size and put in bunk beds. If someone wants to get the drink package, more power to them. My family is getting the refreshment package. It's not a "need", we'd survive without it very easily, but it's a "want"... as is much of a vacation... anywhere. -
