  1. Agree. That's why I'm going back and forth on it. Basically giovanni's kitchen, chops, Wonderland, hibachi/Izumi sushi and to your point, playmakers doesn't make sense to use any. The kicker is right now the 3 and 5 night have the 18% gratuity added but the 10 night doesn't add it which makes it a better value.
  2. For those who have done transatlantics before.. Do you do any of the dining packages? We'll be on the 15 night Odyssey in October and debating if we want to do a 3 night package at $266 for two with gratuity included, the 5 night for $410 with gratuity included, or the 10 nighter for $590 total price, or no dining package at all. There is no unlimited and hasn't been so far. We generally do the unlimited dining for most of our week long cruises, but I keep going back and forth on if we want any sort of a package for this long cruise. The 10 nighter seems like the best deal but it's so much food..
  3. Majority of the time, the bottles of water sit on the counter at most bars so they're room temp when you order them.
  4. Otherwise just getting a duplicate room key will also work, correct?
  5. So I'm likely to have a similar situation. Myself and a friend in cabin 1, my wife and friend in cabin 2. Obviously myself and wife will share a cabin and then friend 1 and 2. I just need to go to gs and ask them to make new room key for my wife so she can get into my room and friend 1 a new room key to access their room? Then each would have their sea pass card to charge stuff and a basic room key, or am I not understanding correctly?
  6. Maybe a dumb question.. I currently have a room booked for my wife and I. We're potentially adding a 2nd cabin with two additional people. Is there a charge to remove my wife from the current cabin and put her in the new cabin? And then essentially add passenger 3 to my cabin and passenger 4 to my wife's cabin? And then is it as simple as getting different room cards once onboard? Thanks.
  7. I wonder if my prime discount would work for one day.
  8. Can I buy just a single day at the end of the cruise?
  9. Next month we have our first ever 3 day cruise. My plan is to use my diamond internet day when we set sail, then use my wife's the next 24 hours, leaving us only missing one day of internet. Dumb question, but I've always bought the internet ahead of time, for that one day, basically the last day of the cruise, how do I purchase the one day of internet and use my diamond/prime status discount for the $20 or whatever it is per day?
  10. I wouldn't spend 20k on a suite but have I dropped 20k in the casino over a week? Absolutely. To each their own.
  11. Didn't even realize I was going to be onboard a ship for Easter until this thread. Guess that shows how interested in Easter I am 😂
  12. Easter bunny is afraid of cruise ships. He'll get you next year, don't worry.
  13. As of right now, we have the drink package booked. Thinking we'll keep it since it's only $550. If we lose money on it, so be it I suppose. Challenge accepted 😎
  14. We've made it for a 10:30 FLL flight before with plenty of time to spare. You just can't experience any delays in getting off the ship or anything. Actually have another 10:30 am flight booked coming up.
  15. On an upcoming 3 night Liberty sailing, we're in a free balcony room for a casino comp. The Royal suite is a actually still available, which got me thinking. If it were you, would you pay the price to upgrade? I've never seen the price within reach before, which is the only reason I'm considering it.. Cost to upgrade for the two of us would be about $2700 total. Would you do it? Only a 3 night sailing but just to experience it? Toss up for me.
  16. The interesting part is I've been on Odyssey twice now within the last year, and I've had some of my best weeks in the casino on both of those trips. Just all depends on the luck of the person at the time, nothing to do with ship specific. Newer games are more volitale than older ones, so with Odyssey having mostly newer machines, yes you'll see less smaller payouts but all averages out in the end.
  17. Agreed. Going from a "free" Suite to paying for an interior or oceanview, not a fan. We specifically picked this 4 day because it's Royals like only 4 day cruise that doesn't leave on a Monday, and good Friday saved a day a pto. Sigh.
  18. Never done celebrity so it'd be a first for us. I have my fingers crossed our free cruise happens as that's by far the best option and cheapest.
  19. Agree. Every time I think of having to pay over $1500 for an interior room when we're in a free junior suite right now, it makes it a tough pill to swallow.
  20. Hi all. My wife and I are scheduled to get on Mariner April 6th for 4 nights. With them canceling the April 1st sailing, and being the planner, having back up plans in mind in the event they cancel our sailing as well. Due to pto constraints, we need it to be around the weekend. We're already booked on a 3 dayer next month on Indy. Currently, we're in a junior suite on a mostly comped casino cruise. We paid to upgrade to the junior suite, so a few hundred bucks. If they cancel, our options are really limited with it being so close and many cruises sold out.. Here's the different options as of right now.. 3 nighter on Indy, even though we're doing it the next month. The only room left is interior, and assuming Royal offers what they did for the April 1 sailing, we'd have to pay the difference, so since our cruise is "free", the 3 night interior would cost us an extra roughly $1900 for two people. Next option is Adventure 5 nighter out of Galveston. Flights can be changed and cost is about the same. Only room left on it is an oceanview and we'd have to pay an extra roughly $1800. Option 3 is fly to FLL, stay at the hard rock for two days (comped) and enjoy their pool area and then drive up to Orlando and do Disney for a day or two before flying home. This option, factoring out any gambling, I estimate out of pocket being $1500-2k. Virgin cruises has a 4 nighter that we can get a balcony for about $2500 total. Celebrity has summit doing a 5 nighter in a balcony for roughly $2,000. Not super crazy about any option since we're currently in a junior suite for essentially pennies with free diamond drinks for the whole cruise and free prime drinks. With the 8 points we'd get for the cruise, we'd be hitting Diamond plus by end of year. Without it, won't hit it until a cruise in January. Thoughts? Obviously prefer it not be canceled but I want to have a backup.
  21. If they expected it to go into additional sailings, do they usually cancel multiple at once or play it week by week? I can't remember what they've done in situations like this prior.
  22. I'm guessing I'll find out next week if the April 6th cruise is a go or not.
  23. Anyone know if you get anything as far as future cruise credit or transfer to another sailing on a comped casino cruise?
