  1. The key issue to me is the devaluation of the loyalty program. At one time the loyalty program was the primary focus. It should concern most Captain’s Club members that loyalty is on a slippery slope and that over time more benefits will be cut or reduced. I really believe that this is not the best strategy in these financially challenging times.
  2. They have every right to change the program. We have the right to choose how we spend our money.
  3. Notice that Zenith benefits no longer include access to MC/Retreat. They originally said that this was temporary due to Covid., now it’s officially permanent! Loyalty means nothing! Idea: Should permit Zeniths to use MC/ Retreat on a space available basis on M&S class ships, This might cause Zeniths to book more cruises on M&S class ships.
  4. There is a stop across from Pan-Pacific. With luggage I take the taxi.
  5. Treat others with respect and it will yield large dividends. You can purchase perks, but the perks don't include class. I once met a man at the Captain's Table (when they had Captain's Tables) who was in the Penthouse. He was one of the most "classless" people I've ever met. I had a gathering in my simple veranda for the people who I met at the table. Everyone, including the Captain said that they would not attend if the man was invited. Crew are often thought of as "just the help". Treat them with respect and they will respond by treatingt you like royalty.
  6. The “ship within a ship “ is alive and well on Celebrity. It’s also alive and well on their competitors. The industry is copycat. One line starts and most copy if it working.
  7. Or, they can completely change the procedure for the Muster drill. Several lines changed during Covid. Some used the interactive TV system.
  8. Where would you put the Muster Station? They already use all available space, including the Photo Gallery on the S Class ships. There are legal requirements that can’t be avoided.
  9. Go to the Crystal board to learn about the new owners and plans. They bought Symphony, Serenity and the brand name and web site.
  10. I've cruised with Crystal on both Symphony and Serenity and they both have extra perks as you go up in cabin category. Fortunately there are new owners for Crystal and they will restart cruising in 2023 after they update the ships.
  11. The stateroom attendant also is under obligation to report any signs of illness, smoking violations or any illegal activity. It would be a large red flag if the request was made to not allow the attendant to perform their job.
  12. No different for airlines & hotels. The more you spend, the more you get and the Suite passengers do pay for their experience.
  13. They can't use key cards on the M & S Class ships since they are designated muster stations and they need to remain open in case of an emergency.
  14. They’ve eliminated the Zenith benefit to use it and restrict use to Suite passengers.Think that they could restore access on M and S Class ships when the number of Zeniths is low and then I can book Celebrity cruises.
  15. I have experienced groups of more than 20 in Blu and the experience wasn’t ideal for us. They were very noisy and acted like they owned the place. They tended to arrive together and that affected service. I would urge the group to recognize that there are others not in the group who paid a great deal for their vacation. I hope that the group has a wonderful experience.
  16. $8.75 now. Predict we will see CLL at $5.00. RCL will go down to new lows. Most people who booked at inflated prices used FCC or booked at a time when inflation was low and stock market high. That’s what I feared when Celebrity shifted its emphasis on loyalty.
  17. Haven’t cruised on Viking before, so I’ll see. My point is that the price combined with reduction in benefits prompted me to try other lines. I just loved my Crystal cruises even to the end. Celebrity is a fine product.
  18. The prices have with AI are now comparable to some cruises on other lines. For example, I'm paying less per day for a TA on Viking in a PV2 than a TA in Aqua Class on Celebrity. Viking includes excursions and Specialty Dinng. The cabin is about 1/3 larger than AQ Class.
  19. As said by others, inflation is with us and prices of travel have risen more than most items. I just wonder if Celebrity's lessening the importance of loyalty and changing their demographics will work in the long run. I'm certain that the Miami bean counters will recommend changes in approach if their current strategy isn't working. Whether formerly loyal cruisers will return to me is questionable.
  20. You get to wave at people as they leave the ship.
  21. Sorry,! Must have read title of the thread and reacted to post without fully understanding.
  22. They are not employees of Celebrity, but work for a company that is involved with port shopping on many lines. One once told me that he was going to Princess next. You can check the next time you are on a Celebrity ship since my information was before Covid.
  23. So sorry for your loss. Don was a wonderful person. He enriched the life of everyone he met.
  24. I also know Arno and totally agree with your post. Looking forward to seeing you and Iain.
  25. Did you notice the tags? They list if the crystal has been replaced and I’ve never seen one where it wasn’t. A replaced crystal significantly affects the price. To me, the prices were crazy high.
