  1. If you have the Plus or Premium can you order any drink in there? Attending just for the view or company. TIA
  2. Thanks for your info and opinion. I never considered this as a perk! $1 off a drink is somewhat cheap for a perk. Other lines did much more and gave free drinks for a couple of hours plus food each evening. We don't cruise for the perks, but if they are supposed to be perks, show some value. JMHO!
  3. Doesn't sound like it is of any value except a place to sit. So, why check to see if you are authorized to be in there? What are they giving you? Another perk gone away.
  4. What is the Elite HH now since Princess has the Plus and Prenium?
  5. Did you buy the package? Did you pay for the extras you don't need? So, I agree with you. Pay for what you want and need. You are not justifying the additional cost and why the cruise lines are increasing the costs.
  6. Who of you now work for the Cruise line? It sounds that many of you do when you try to justify the price increase, cutback in perks, etc. Example: 'But do you understand that, based on the current dynamic, you're the least attractive type of passenger to any cruise line? "Cruise fare" now means less to the cruise lines than "revenue per guest." It's the entry point vs. the final outcome in terms of what they make per sailing. And clearly they are focused on doing everything they can to elevate revenue per guest. Even if it throws loyalty members and frugal cruisers under the bus. Princess could easily have said "Platinum's and Elite's are grandfathered" and instead chose to accept the consequences of their ire.' Personally I do NOT cruise to increase any Cruise Lines profit!! I cruise to enjoy my remaining years with the best value for the $. You may cruise for other reasons. Good for you! Pay for the extras that you don't need and trying to justify why Cruise Lines are raising prices. Example Celebrity now charging $2.00 for a Cookie. JMHO! .
  7. I looked at the Princess wine lists posted. Seen what is sold by the glass. Then saw the price of the bottle. That is what I consider the premium. Any glass over $15.
  8. Stayed there 3 times and going back in Oct 23. Best value for the $. Close to everything. I found out over the years when you drink the expensive or cheap it all comes out the same way. LOL
  9. I didn't say you went in the cruise for the food experience. However, your do eat on a cruise. I just asked what cruise lines do you like the food?
  10. Have you check the wine list and see that they sell many premium wines by the glass. Some more expensive than others and some they sell by the glass and some they don't. I would say based on popularity of the wine, not always by price.
  11. So, are you saying that this does not apply to the Plus selection? How many glasses in a 750 bottle, 4?
  12. Food is very subjective. What cruise line do you consider that has the best food in your opinion? Our experience is you can go to a restaurant at home one day and it is great. Go the next day and order the same food and it may be OK.
  13. Why is that? If it is in the bottle and you can buy it, with the 25% off, why can't you get a glass if you have the package? Another way of generating more revenue. You paid for a package that includes wine and then you have to buy it by the bottle? LOL
  14. MKAH Thank you very much for taking the time to provide many of us the details. People like you make these forums valuable sources of information. Again, thank you and happy Cruising!
  15. Thank you for all the info. The one important thing is which Terminal in Barcelona does Princess Enchanted dock at? TIA
  16. Sorry. Never meant to imply that was only an Elite benefit. We have 58 Princess cruises. Have attended the two functions many times and have been 1, 2 and 3 MT many times, too. Happy Cruising!
  17. I am not a Princess Cheerleader. I'm providing this information as FYI to compare Cruise Lines increasing costs to recover losses during Covid 19. I have the link to the article if interested and may post it on here, if allowed. I am posting this as it maybe of interest to many, not all, who cruise Princess and other lines. If you are interested in comparing costs, read further. If not, just move to the next posting. Playmakers: Entrees increased 33% to $11.99 from $9 while the price of wings went up 40% to $13.99 a dozen from $10. Appetizer prices were all raised by at least $1.99 while the Poke Nachos saw a $4.99, or 63%, increase to $12.99 from $8. Portside Barbecue: A restaurant unique to Oasis of the Seas, Portside Barbecue, raised prices across the board as well. "The Signature combo went from 2 cuts for $12.49 and 3 cuts for $15.39 to $16.99 and $21.99, respectively," Royal Caribbean Blog reported. Those increases are 36% and 43%. "The Pitmaster Special price was changed from $9.99 to $14.99." That's up 50%. Prices were also raised on single cuts, sides, and desserts. These are just two examples from another line to show that many lines are increasing food costs.
  18. MT luncheon on some ships, MT Evening Drinking Party on others. Unless they changed that, too?
  19. We are Platinum on Princess, Elite Plus on X, Diamond+ on RCI, SAPPHIRE on NCL, Copper on HAL and Diamond on MSC. Why do you consider Princess buffet inferior?
  20. Fully agree. Since we are paying the extra $ per day, the meals should be based on a 7 day sailing.
  21. Thanks for all your info and details. One thing I would like to clarify is how Princess excels in the MDR with their menus. You stated: 'I did notice the second week the same items as in the first week reappearing. This is my only negative comment.' On NCL they are using the same menu each night without any changes on the Prima, their new ship. So, just hope that Princess does not follow NCL and use one menu, the same menu, each night. As for the $39 for the Specialty Restaurants. That is very reasonable. The other lines are charging $50 and above. If you visited Ruth's Chris Steak House today, you could expect to pay a minimum of around $61 for a 16 ounce New York Strip. Ribeye would run close to $69. From the cruise lines we have cruised on the past 2 years, Princess is the most reasonable. Happy Cruising!
