  1. Sproket Just curious how it turned out. Did the Medallion continue showing you had the Premier package once you boarded the ship or did it revert back to Plus? B
  2. Martini, Shrimp Cocktail, Beef Tenderloin, Apple Pie.... Cappuccino with a side of Baileys. Dreaming..... B
  3. I thought the same thing. ☺️ Lisa, I hope you and Tom have a wonderful, relaxing cruise. B
  4. For this very reason, I keep the credit card I provided for the "Shipboard Payment Method" locked. If there is something pre-cruise I acknowledge needs to be charged, I unlock the card before making the purchase. Otherwise, the charges will be rejected by the credit card issuer. I, too, attempted to make a specialty dining reservation using dining credits. Princess attempted to charge my credit card. The charge was rejected. Will call the Dine Line to make the booking. I will unlock the card about a week before the cruise for the customary pre-cruise daily hold for miscellaneous expenses. BTW. It's a card I rarely use. Will switch cards closer to the cruise if I decide to B
  5. I like to cruise for relaxation. The current issues are frustrating. Trying to let it go and see what happens. Not working for me so far. 😁 B
  6. Have you considered booking a spot in the Sanctuary? I traveled solo several times when my DH couldn't get away from work. I usually booked the Sanctuary so that I would have a specific place to relax outside of my cabin. B
  7. I paid for Plus, but the app shows Premier. I will be lucky (and satisfied) if Plus is provided once I board. Not looking for something for nothing. Just don't like irritations and stress.
  8. I am having the same issue. So much for easy and uneventful. B
  9. Have sailed with Princess many times, but my December sailing will be the first MedallionClass, post pandemic cruise. Hoping things will be easy and uneventful.
  10. With all the MedallionClass hype, I assumed all of the information would be on the app. It seems like some of it is on the app, some of it is on the web site. Lots of room for confusion and errors.
  11. A friend's sister lives in Lahaina. Her sister was in the process of evacuating last night. Cell phones and internet are now down. Waiting for word from her. B
  12. My brother and sister-in-law are on the Regatta. Looks like a nice day.
  13. I had the opposite experience this week. Admittedly, it's a 7 day out of Galveston between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Off season. However, I noticed a price drop and called my TA. She was able to get a substantial fare decrease and an increase in OBC for a Reserve Collection Mini. No solo sailing issue. A couple of hundred less than the 200% single occupancy fare (not including port and tax). B
  14. Me, too. I hope my anxiety turns into excitement. B
  15. Wishing you comfort during this difficult time. My sister's partner just lost his mother and father in a three-week period. He is really struggling. Thinking of you. B
  16. What a wonderful attitude and tribute to your partner. I'm still struggling but have that first cruise booked for May. Will take the information you provided and do some research. I see #2 on the horizon. B
  17. I heard he had passed. Hope his family is doing well. It is a small world. Especially here on Cruise Critic. Most of the members try to find things we have in common and support each other. B
  18. Pickalily You live in a very beautiful area. Years ago, a friend's daughter married a young man that lived in Allington, near Salisbury. We went to the engagement party and stayed with his family in The Old Rectory. Wonderful memories. B
  19. My husband of 25 years passed away suddenly and unexpectedly just over 2 years ago. We loved cruising together...especially to Alaska. I have traveled alone extensively in the past for business. As did he. But it's very different to travel knowing someone is at home waiting for you or will be there in the event of an emergency while away. We both took a few cruises by ourselves when the other didn't have time off from work. Texting and calling each other quite often. I had a difficult time deciding to take that first solo cruise, but am booked on an Alaskan R/T out of Vancouver in May. Hoping for the best. My siblings don't want to cruise and our couples cruising partners currently have health issues. One of the couples has volunteered to take care of my dog while I'm away...much comfort for me. B
