  1. I went back to look and it was posted twice in error, I was having trouble posing it and must have hit post twice. Pardon the error. But I have also posted two different questions about boarding. I’m a grandma and don’t usually board with teenagers and I’m trying to be informed sorry.
  2. Leaving from Seattle round trip to Alaska in a couple weeks and my daughter and grandkids ages 18 and 16 are also going. My grandson had his drivers license but my grand daughter does not have a state ID SHE IS STILL IN DRIVERS ED. Anyway Holland says you need a birth certificate and a state picture ID. do you think she can board with just a birth certificate? Has anyone done this before?
  3. Do I have to print out the boarding pass for each of us going on this cruise? New to Holland America boarding, on celebrity we took our own security picture, we also could send our boarding pass to our wallet in our smart phone. I see no option for that with HAL. I don’t think the pass is complete yet as it does not have our arrival time yet. I really don’t want to print that out for all 6 of us.
  4. Hope the cruise on Westerdam got better, I am boarding june18 with my family, have been reading nothing but bad posts. Hope to read something positive soon.
  5. I can not even find where to upload a picture. All checked in they say but no,place for that.
  6. This is very disheartening as I board her on June 18. From Hanks review and now yours I’m not very excited about having an enjoyable cruise, should have stuck with celebrity I guess but my last two cruises on them also left a lot to be desired, so I switched to HAL. This is a graduation gift cruise to my grandson and to say I’m apprehensive is an understatement.
  7. Glacier view cabins are the best!
  8. Does HAL let you make regular dining room reservations before you get on the ship? Main dining?
  9. I am so nervous about having an Alaskan cruise booked in June on the Westerdam. It sounds so awful for everything but some service. Do they only do the rooms once a day on Hal? I don’t want to be checking my bill everyday, I really want to enjoy food, my husband eats pizza so much how sad it is lousy. I don’t know, too late to back out now but what a wasted trip for our family if things do not change between now and then. I am so angry about that charge for more than one appetizer, and…a salad or soup should not be included with the appetizers. Just moronic.
  10. That was a good idea but trip is fully paid for.
  11. Thank you everyone, at least I know I can try, if not I will board with them.
  12. That’s what I will do if boarding with me is not permitted. I just wondered if anyone has ever been in a Neptune and done this before. My first time. thank you for all your reply’s
  13. I understand about the Neptune lounge and we get a special menu they do not but all I’m really concerned about is boarding. This is a present from us to my grandson for his high school graduation. I would just like to board together, after that I know I get some perks that my daughter doesn’t. Since there is no suite dining room on this ship I am hoping the 6 of us can dine together and they are fine with not getting the suite menu, I just hope it can be done when we are on board. I would have reserved a table for 6 but early dining is filled and no waiting list.
  14. Me my husband and grandson are in a Neptune suite, my daughter her husband and my grandaughter are in a VA balcony. Can they board when I board so we can all stay together? This is in Seattle on the Westerdam.
  15. Th e first time we did this before Covid the menu was surf and turf, excellent food! great service it was just so fun. we did it this year in January and got short ribs I did not enjoy the menu at all, it was so overpriced. Like stew meat. the show is fun, I did enjoy that as it was different then our first, the service was great but until they get back to a menu worth the money I will not partake again.
  16. I am elite plus on celebrity and I can tell you honestly that their cruise line is in decline, I take a cruise with them once or twice a year. It’s true their ships are beautiful and upkeep is very good on the ship. However, the food has declined immensely they too run out of things. On our last cruise in January and again in February of this year no salt or pepper shakers, service is not what it once was and trying to get butter was next to impossible. Drinks were hit and miss. The prices for their specialty restaurants continue to climb and now room service other than continental breakfast is no longer a perk, you pay for it. They were almost out of bottled water on our last day. It is not exclusive to Holland, the grass is not always greener. On both our cruises one a 10 day, the other a two week, we were not served a steak one time in the main dining room other than their everyday sirloin. There was no prime rib. I heard on the next cruise after ours, prime rib was back. I hope so. anyway, I am cruising on the Westerdam to Alaska in June and I will not be expecting much, but at least their specialty dinners are still priced reasonable and their room service is still a free perk. Also, celebrity’s European crew is no longer. Very few and far between, not that that should decide your cruise I say that because someone mentioned that celebrity has a mostly Eastern European crew, not true since Covid things are not what it use to be on their cruise line. just saying…….
  17. Is breakfast in the pinnacle grill open to all club orange or just Neptune and pinnacle suites? I am finding more info here then talking with a Holland rep.
  18. So is it more beneficial to book club orange than a Neptune suite? There are no perks for a suite except laundry. Do you feel club orange is more beneficial? Does club orange get more priority over suites?
  19. Is it worth it to purchase wi fi while on Alaska cruise? How is HAL wi fi?
  20. I’m not sure, I think I might be, it has been very confusing booking. Maybe you can tell me though why a military veteran would be denied no matter what the rate? I’m having a hard time understanding.
  21. They will not honor my husbands military with 100 OBC because they say it’s not combinable with my room rate. First time on 30 cruises anybody has ever said that
  22. Just wondering? Trying to find out what to expect once on board
  23. What cruise terminal in Seattle does Holland use for their Alaska trips? I see there are too, 66 or 91?
