  1. I agree about March. Not here or there but Springtime is magical where I used to live in NY. Trees, bushes, flowers budding, Ramapo Mountains in the background. That's what I miss about NY. To me there is never a good winter, not even here in TX where I wore my down jacket approx. 6 times since 2003. Hard to believe we'll be here 20 years in Oct. I still don't say "y'all", but I've developed a taste for good bbq.
  2. Maryann, congratulations on becoming Diamond! Sounds like you and Jim had a wonderful cruise. We have 2 cruises this year and after our Bella cruise we'll be 11 points away from Diamond. Slowly, slowly we plan on becoming Diamonds late 2024. @NHProudGoodness, that sounds like you took a nasty fall. Heal quickly. Glad nothing was broken.
  3. Thank you both for your help! I sort of understand what to do which in my limited tech knowledge is saying a lot!
  4. Can you please explain wifi calling? I think Brillo posted something on your Live thread, but I need it explained step by step. I'm assuming I have to buy an internet package to text beyond the ship? I know ship texting is free. That's about the only thing I know. Both Jack and I have android phones.
  5. OMG what a story! 🤣Would be funny if you met the geezer along the way who accused you of your phone conversations being transmitted to his hearing aids!
  6. Lenny, I never experienced an ice storm in NY the likes of which cripple all services here in TX. No mail delivery, no trash pick up, schools, businesses, medical offices closed. All roads totally iced like skating rinks. Yesterday, today, probably tomorrow, more of the same. Grocery stores are going to be insanely crowded once we thaw out.
  7. @Ocean Boy OB, your pictures are beautiful. You captured the essence of what you are shooting quite well. Colors are amazing. On a totally different note, our temps here are a high of 27 or 31, depending on weather source, with ice still covering every surface outside. Another day to stay indoors.
  8. Manhattan gets way more foot and vehicle traffic which makes for a grey, black, slushy environment. On another note, everything here seems to be iced up. Roofs, grass, etc,, are covered in ice. I'm sure the roads are treacherous by now. Supposed to get worse tomorrow. Thanks, Debbie. We already hung the clothes we're taking in our closet in one spot, ready to fold and place in our suitcases.
  9. Thank you! Something just not right about NY temps being warmer than Dallas. I remember snow in April in NY. At least NY plows quickly. When I lived in Manhattan, I never saw white snow for more than one day. It always turned to slush hours later. Rockland County was magical when it snowed. Your trip, except for your fall, sounds delightful. Just what you and your step-daughter needed.
  10. Nasty weather here in the Dallas area. Winter storm warning until Wednesday 6am. Today, tomorrow in the 20s, rain, sleet, icy. We're staying in with the hopes we don't have another famous Texas ice storm. Some schools are closed! Good weather returns by Sunday, the day we head down to Galveston for our first cruise on Monday in 5 years. 5 night, Adventure OTS. George, @George C Bethany @TravelGirlinDallasand whoever else will be impacted, stay safe.
  11. Wishing you and Jim the most wonderful cruise with smooth sails and sunshine. @Momof3gurlzDeb same to you and Andy. I'll be curious what you think of NCL. @dani negreanuDani, what can I say? Your grandsons are totally matoke (sweet). @Ocean BoyOB, keep enjoying your cruise. Did you ask for the footstool or was it on your balcony?
  12. I only read page 1 of this thread. I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She led a long life well lived, I am sure. You were an exceptional daughter. I hope your arm heals quickly.
  13. It was a pleasure reading about your antics. Pictures exceptional. @Ozark_KidJohn, safe travels home and @brilloheadDebbi, have an enjoyable 3rd leg. Will you continue to post in here? hint...hint.
  14. Jerusalem and Old Jaffa came to my mind as well. I've visited both places on every one of our trips to Israel. Even living in Israel, you give excellent advice!
  15. Is OB a Podiatrist? JK, I think. 🤔 Israel has wonderful produce. Strawberries are as red inside as they are outside. Juicy, sweet and yes, big.
