  1. It's ridiculous isn't it that after everything we have gone through over the last few years people still need to be 'told' to wash their hands but a combination of hand washing/sanitising together with Dr Cocktails recommendations would reduce ship transmission rates significantly (and coughing and sneezing into the elbow rather than the hands 😜)
  2. Sensible advice but mouths and hands will often make contact inadvertently and yes I have seen people pick up food with their hands and put it back on the display stand (though not on the last cruise fortunately 😜)
  3. Having just got off the Navigator we initially found that the service in Compass Rose was a bit too quick! We arrive at 8pm and like to linger over our meal, enjoying each course with a break in between and we are happy to spend 1.5 hours doing so, catching up with the show part way through. A quiet word with our waiter brought the food delivery down to perfection for us. Your waiters are not mind readers, so unless you tell them, they won't know your preference for speed of service. As far as food is concerned we found the chicken a bit on the tough side but the fish was lovely and OH enjoyed his fillet mignon and we did not notice a lack of anything we wanted.
  4. Hope everyone in the US is keeping safe and warm during the 'weather bomb' you are experiencing. I loved our recent Regent cruise (service by British Airways excluded) and have just posted the middle two paragraphs as part of a reply on another forum which must not be named on this one 😜 and just wondered what other people's thoughts are. As a retired nurse and Biology teacher it does concern me and I have some suggestions in the last paragraph that Regent could possibly consider. We have just got off the Navigator and on the whole had a wonderful cruise. However, what really concerned me were hygiene issues linked to other passengers and I have raised this on the post cruise survey as I feel Regent could be more proactive in addressing this particularly in the areas where passengers serve themselves such as La Veranda and Coffee Connection. I followed a lady from the bathroom to La Veranda. She neither washed nor sanitised her hands from leaving the cubicle to picking up the serving tongs at the buffet. The hand sanitising station at La Veranda seemed to bypass quite a few passengers and there were also a number of people coughing over the food as they were serving themselves (Thank goodness for the sneeze guards and the fact the food is replenished frequently😜) I also saw someone blow their nose on a large hanky, put it in his pocket and then continue serving his food again without sanitising first. This is not specifically a concern about Covid (although it's still out there) there are many other highly contagious diseases (like norovirus) that could rip through a small ship like Navigator ruining the cruise for everyone and it is up to us all to maintain good hygiene measures to protect ourselves and more importantly others. On a Disney cruise, my sister (young children) was amazed to see a member of staff in the washrooms reminding passengers to wash their hands! As adults I am sure it was drummed into us all to wash our hands before eating and after certain other activities but even if we wash our hands in the suite, on the way to the dining room it is likely we have touched door handles, elevator buttons, hand rails etc which have been touched by those who are less fastidious and so having a cheery member of staff at the entrance to La Veranda suggesting guests sanitise their hands and something prominently in the suite/passages of the importance of this prior to touching shared utensils . Just my thoughts 😁
  5. If the feedback from many British passengers just disembarking the navigator today BA stands for B!00dy Awful. Missed flights, missed cruise and having to board at first port stop, no luggage for 4 days (and even no luggage at all), BA ground crew telling passengers at Manchester that their missed flights were not their problem, standing in a queue at Manchester for 1.5 hours just to drop bags off (and that included first and business class passengers) - the list goes on. The people who flew Virgin were however fine and now we have the passport control strike to face in the morning 😒
  6. Ray is onboard for another 3 weeks (not that he is counting😜😜) just got off her this morning and now sitting in Miami airport. Have a great trip.
  7. We were lucky on our current cruise. The luggage was put into a van at the hotel and delivered to the port in Miami so no-one with palm outstretched or threats of suitcase destruction 😜
  8. As someone from the UK who also struggles with the tip everyone concept I also prefer to pay more upfront and not have to worry about who I should tip and how much. I know every country has a different take on this but people should not have to rely on tips so they earn a living wage - their employer should be paying them that and tips should be for excellent service. We do tip for good service but if the service is not good we don't tip.
  9. And 2 hours ago the BBC report this https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-63855508 have Regent acted a bit too soon?

  11. We left it to the end of 2023 for the same reason but maybe things might have improved by the time your's comes round 🀞🏻🀞🏻I don't thing the issues with Taiwan are helping things either
  12. Email sent out yesterday to say this one and the one following it (HK round trip) have been cancelled as we were on the back to back. They are putting some alternatives on that avoid Chinese ports but we really wanted to visit HK before it completely loses everything that made it different to the mainland. Dear Valued Guest and Travel Partner: In light of the uncertainty around China ports we have had to modify the course of a number of 2023 voyages aboard Seven Seas Explorer to allow an unrivaled experience of the incredible region of South-East Asia. To accommodate this, we regret to inform you that your 10-night Adventure in Asia voyage departing on October 31, 2023, has been canceled. We recognize this news will cause disappointment and we want to provide flexibility for you to decide how to proceed with your travel plans.
  13. Make sure you ask them to boil it. You know what some nationalities are like making tea in the microwave πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜œπŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜œ
  14. I'm glad we aren't the only ones πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Scooby comes on all our holidays and our room steward on our first Regent cruise used to leave him in some unusual positions 😜
  15. We are also 21 (plus 39) and whilst not too bothered about the night life we do like active daytimes. Our upcoming Caribbean cruise has us doing horse riding, kayaking, hiking in the rain forest, river tubing, ATV riding. There was also an America's cup excursion and zip lining on offer. My husband likes to take his mountain bike on our cruises so he can do a quick 40 or 50 km ride before lunch but not this time πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ we always look for the excursions with at least 2 (moderate) but preferably 3 (strenuous) walking people on each trip description.
  16. No - that is definitely an open neck shirt with no bow tie 😜 her LBD is very smart though. That glass of champagne looks particularly welcoming πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ My OH is taking a linen jacket but we are back before Christmas and no formal nights on the itinerary. Hope you have a fab cruise.
  17. We are doing the Caribbean on Navigator so no pre cruise but a night in Miami (if passport control aren't on strike and we get there🀞🏻🀞🏻 😜) and yes it will be lovely to be back onboard again 😁
  18. I was in the post office this morning and next strike day is Friday so 🀞🏻 You get before then. Our tags came direct from Regent
  19. You are on the same cruise as us and we have the same as Boatman'sLady (just deck 7) - maybe they are the UK version?
  20. GeorgiaPeach51 you have hit the nail on the head there. We should all thank whichever deity we worship that despite some of the difficulties we are all experiencing and the very minor blips which those of us fortunate enough to cruise on a Regent ship might experience, there are people in this world who are fighting for their freedom πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’• πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦
  21. Well instead of the Regent White Glove treatment, I hope the selfish pair got the Border Force rubber glove treatment - that would have knocked the smirk off their faces 😜😠
  22. 23. Ours arrived for our Navigator cruise direct from Regent before I checked us in so might be worth a check with your TA so they can chase Regent 😁
  24. You are very welcome vegasdriven - glad it worked for you 😁
