  1. Good ole Celebrity IT. Was treated the same as a RS in November but wouldnā€™t be surprised to see that change. Wonā€™t book again since the forward location made me seasick in rough seas. The suite is absolutely gorgeous. The high ceilings are remarkable. Lots of glass made the interior very bright. Loved the quiet private hallway. But seemed the shower/tub (with a shower curtain!) was trying to kill me. Very high-sided tub. If it werenā€™t for the seasick issue I would book again even with reduced amenities. Too bad.
  2. Jim, I remember your empty RS report. Crazy! My ā€œGet lost loser!ā€ notifications are always 48 hrs prior. Have never won a bid.
  3. I learned the correct spelling of Silhouette when I started booking cruises on her. We need a Sapphire ship. Canā€™t spell that without looking it up.
  4. For me a Millenium class PH is the best suite in the X fleet because of the awesome balcony. I would love to sail in a PH one more time. Iā€™d be solo, but thatā€™s OK. No more front-of-the-ship cabins for me. Had way too much motion in a very pretty Signature Suite on Reflection.
  5. I take Bonine and wear a Relief Band for any boat ride and flying (and sometimes movies). They usually work well, but ā€œrocking and rollingā€ for a long time could be overwhelming. Wouldnā€™t want to feel sick the entire trip. Is drinking alcohol contraindicated while wearing the patch? That would interfere with my entertainment. šŸ„‚šŸøšŸ» If not, I would consider trying it. No thanks on the weird glasses. And yes, maybe turning 71 has something to do with it. Used to never get seasick.
  6. Thanks, it seems I should limit my Galapagos adventures to virtual, following the outstanding reviews and pictures from my living room.
  7. Does the ship rock much when anchored overnight? Considering Galapagos but worried about getting seasick on a small ship. šŸ¤¢
  8. Thank you for your review. I too miss having a promenade deck, they are pretty rare these days. Way back when we always strolled the promenade deck after dinner, even in formal wear. I also miss formal wear and no weight limit on luggage.šŸ˜Ž
  9. Mega ships are not for me but Iā€™ll still be following your adventures with interest. Our first cruise was on little bitty Grandeur of the Seas. Nice pictures. The Crown Loft is pretty, I like the brightness and view from the tall windows. Donā€™t think Iā€™d like tromping up and down the stairs.
  10. I spend as much time as possible on my balcony but I need shade. No sunbathing for me, just donā€™t like it. Wouldnā€™t mind no deck jacuzzi, Iā€™ve never used it. Guess I would use the sun room if no shade or bad weather. Would rather be outside.
  11. Well, I know the very best cabin, but itā€™s not gonna happen for meā€¦ Our first Celebrity cruise in 2002 was in a Summit Penthouse suiteā€”a special one-time treat. If I had the choice of any cabin in the entire Celebrity fleet (including the fancy-pants Iconic suite) Iā€™d choose a Millenium class PH because of the fabulous balcony. What can I say, Iā€™m a balcony gal. I know I can place a Move-Up bid, but considering my perfect record of never ever winning a bid, not holding my breath.
  12. Iā€™m in 6134. Almost neighbors! If thereā€™s shade on my balcony thatā€™s where Iā€™ll be, with my Trusty Kindle and an adult beverage.šŸø
  13. Once a bartender at the World Class Bar was playing ā€œThe Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.ā€
  14. A shady spot on Deck 4 sounds like a fine idea. I remember nice viewing aft, must have been on Mercury. Iā€™ll be on Summit April 2025 following the shade. Wonder if an umbrella would help. But I think the one provided in the cabin is kinda dinky. Iā€™m packing electrolyte packets.
  15. Iā€™ve maintained a perfect record of never winning a MoveUp bid. Some bids were cheapo, some were (I thought) very generous. Have always received my ā€œGet lost, loser!ā€ emails two days before sailing.
  16. I actually love long cruises with lotsa sea days. (TAs!) And considered adding the next leg or two. Decided that would give my financial guy a frowny face.
  17. Jim, complimenting your gorgeous photos is most certainly not ā€œundeserved praise.ā€ I was taken aback when you decided to walk up the mountain instead of riding on a cart. Please take care of yourself.
  18. Thanks again for your fun, informative review. Exciting that you have so many cruises booked! Iā€™ll follow all your adventures whatever the ship or itinerary. Will be great.
  19. Just found your ā€œLive fromā€ report. Yay! And thanks so much for writing it. I know itā€™s a lot of work and I appreciate it.
