  1. Usually on the 1st Formal Night on a Princess Cruise they offered Escargot on the MDR Menu. Do they still offer them or ... gawd forbid ... are they (yukkie) "Mushroom Escargot"??? I can't eat dirt, and mushrooms taste like dirt to me. Just asking?
  2. Thank you dreaminofcruisin. I phones Princess here in Australia this afternoon and after much tooing and froing, the operator suggested I wait until the end of the week and check again. LMFO, obviously no-one knows what it going on post pandemic. Anyhow I'll wait and keep checking. Thank you again.
  3. Can anyone advise approximately when Princess actually pays the airline. I booked EZAir 'flexible' and of course have made full payment. My cruise is 33 days away and the airline won't let me choose seats until payment is made.
  4. Thank you for your prompt response yes!yes!yes! Much appreciated. Depending on the fee, they would be very helpful for us now that we are not as young and fit as we used to be LOL. E.T.A. If anyone is interested in this, the company is called OACIS and I think it costs $35 per bag?
  5. Pre Covid if you were flying Virgin there was a service set up in the OPT and White Bay that, for a fee, would check you in and they would transport your checked in luggage to the airport so it could be loaded on your flight. Did you notice if they were at the OPT when you disembarked the Coral Princess this morning? I can't remember their name I'm afraid but they were mentioned here on CC a couple of times pre covid. Can anyone recall what their name was?
  6. Ah yes, but do they still have those speshul Princess PENS in the cabin??? I hope so, I'm down to my last 2! 😟
  7. Well, I know what to do with cheques but .... if all the banks and ATMs have closed in your area, you're stuffed. DH and I have a joint cheque account from the olden days and that bank hasn't issued cheque books for over 10 years. Just saying.
  8. They looked grey to me too. Yuk! Whoever cooked them needs to go back to cooking school and relearn the proper way to hardboil eggs! My tip (for what it's worth). Place room temperature eggs in saucepan. Cover with cold water from the tap. Bring to the boil and lightly boil for 6 minutes (7 minutes if they're large eggs). Drain and fill saucepan with cold water. Drain again then plunge eggs into an ice water bath to cool down. Once cooled peel them immediately. Place on plate and cover with cling wrap and place in fridge until ready to use. Simple really.
  9. Thanks for your response Sinbad. Sounds good for our round Oz Oct/Nov 22 cruise ... well, assuming the itinerary isn't butchered.
  10. Sinbad, you are using the internet to post on cruise critic, how is it? Slow and glitchy or not too bad?
  11. Thanks for the heads up portcbob. Yes, just checked and my Emerald deck aft BE cabin has be altered to Aloha deck BC category ... and I did state "no upgrade" at time of booking. At least we are still port side. Not a deal breaker for us fortunately.
  12. Thank you so much OzKiwiJJ for taking the time out of your cruise to discuss this issue with management. It's very much appreciated and hopefully, as you stated, this will be sent up the line to those who do the sourcing and buying of beveridges.
  13. Sincerest condolences Possum52. Sorry for your loss. It's hard to loose your Mum. Best wishes to you.
  14. Good thoughts OzKiwiJJ ... you go girl!!!! Yep, ooodles of cocktails and we drink what we like and leave what we don't. LOL that should put a bit of a deficit into their booze balance sheet. Hee hee!
  15. All I can suggest is to complain LOUDLY ON BOARD about the crappy wine offerings. I won't be boarding until October but I really hope those offerings have been replaced by then ... well, I "bought" the plus package before they decided to serve crap. So complain ... complain and even more ... COMPLAIN!!! Things just might get back to normal if you do. Good luck current cruisers.
  16. In that case I bow to your wisdom and experience. 😀
  17. Platinum Elite Suites evening lounge from approx 4.30-5.30PM each evening where a selection of nibbles are offered (F.O.C.) and they have a menu of special cocktails which aren't free of course. I did a couple of cruises on the Golden Princess where it was held in Skywalkers. It wasn't offered on the Sun class ships. They have a "bouncer" on the door so only those "speshul" people are allowed in. 🙄 Maybe Princess has done away with this like they have with pillow chocolates, tote bags and those tub chairs in the cabins. Ozwoody I'm probably older and even fuddier duddier that you are LOL.
  18. Just wondering if they have the PES lounge on these short getaways and if so, where do they hold it?
  19. You have excellent taste in errr mouthwash and hand sanitiser Uncle Les. Could you spare a dram or 2 to help me keep the germs away????
  20. Excellent news arxcards. Have a wonderful cruise and enjoy! 😀
  21. Interesting. As an example, Singapore Marina Bay cruise terminal has had free wifi from at least 2016 (probably earlier?). I know 'cause I used it. Yep, it was slow because many crew members were using it as well as passengers. LOL.
  22. If you are going to book the Rock Star suite I hope you enjoy the amenity kit with included condoms. 😂😂😂
  23. Thanks Leigh & Julie ... got it! As that meerkat says "Simples"! Yes Julie, I've bought the plus package so all good there. I would hope that the O.P.T. has dragged itself into the 21st century had free wifi installed during the cruise ban ... airports have free wifi as do shopping centres, libraries, etc. It's the norm these days and to not have it would seem like the "olden days".
