  1. Does anyone know where I can get help? Is it possible to get internet access on a ship without the navigator app installed?
  2. I wiped out everything - history, data, cached files, etc. Reinstalled the !@#$%& app and nada, white screen. Why can I use banking and airline apps on my new phone but not a cruise line app? I'm royally honked off.
  3. If I only get the white screen when I reinstall, how do I sign in? I'm thoroughly confused.
  4. @terrydtx, are you saying I have to install the nonworking app, clear the cache, and then sign in? If it's not currently installed, what would be in the cache to clear? Excuse my lack of technical knowledge.
  5. Last night I uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice. When I open it, white screen. Tried again this morning. I get the Navigator logo and a message asking me if I'll allow notifications. I click Allow and get the white screen. My phone is a new Samsung Galaxy so an updated app should work on it. No problems with other apps I use that have gone through updates. Suggestions?
  6. @CocoChip, thank you for the detailed, extensive review.
  7. I've only had one B2B experience. It was in Vancouver and was extremely disorganized with next to no information. The passengers knew more about the process than the staff on the ship and in Canada Place.
  8. There are 2 types of transfers offered on the AQ website outside of the 3-day post cruise stay. One is $129 per person and includes a 3 hour tour of Nashville and ends at BNA. The other one doesn't show a price but doesn't include the tour and goes straight to the airport.
  9. Greyhound has service to Nashville from Clarksville as does the Nashville MTA (Express Route #94). There's also Groome Transportation that has transportation between Ft. Campbell and Nashville. I don't know if their schedules would work for you or where they pick up in Clarksville.
  10. @cdcampione, I just checked and saw that the cruise ends in Clarksville, an hour away on I-24. The website I checked had a transfer available from the cruise line for $129. I'll do some more research for you, but that, may be your best bet. What kind of private transfer were you looking at to share with someone? Where in Nashville do you want to go?
  11. Doesn't your cruise end in Nashville? Where are you wanting to transfer to? The airport? Opryland hotel? Other hotel?
  12. I think it has possibilities if the pricing is right. Kind of like visiting Paris in the winter after Christmas. Lower airfares and hotel rates; far fewer crowds and tourists. I did a Christmas cruise with Tauck last year. The weather was miserable in Holland and Belgium but it was one of my best cruises. I've booked it again this year and the New Years cruise after it.
  13. @alyssamma, thank you for a well written, even handed review from a HAL newb.
  14. @pontac, I was referring to something else. I meant accessibility to buildings and transportation when outside the US.
  15. Cruise Critic isn't a court of law or a master's thesis committee. 🤣
  16. Good point. I've encountered a number of people who don't realize the ADA doesn't extend to Europe.
  17. @Got2Cruise, yes, it was Austria Airlines out of Dulles.
  18. I dug through my old records, and I flew from Nashville to Dulles, Dulles to Vienna, and then on to Budapest. I booked through Uniworld, and the fare was far less than booking on my own. Going back from Passau, I flew Munich to EWR, then EWR to Nashville.
  19. @rove312, I've always booked my river cruises over a year in advance for a couple of reasons. Helps me to budget/save for the trip, and I travel solo. Solo fares/spaces are often capacity controlled, so if I really want something, I book it as soon as the solo fares are available.
  20. @CPT Trips, I live in Nashville, so not a major airport like Philly. I think my flight went something like Nashville to Munich or Frankfurt, then Vienna, and finally Budapest. It was not a nonstop from Nashville to Vienna. Anyone flying from the US to Eastern Europe has got to understand it's not like flying to common tourist destination cities in Western Europe such as Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Barcelona, etc.
  21. Now that you mention it, my first river cruise started in Budapest, and I connected through Vienna. In any event, it's not Spain.
  22. I've found the best and most numerous connections from the US to Eastern Europe are thru Germany, not Spain, Italy, France, etc.
  23. You wouldn't sail a cruise line just because they don't have room service breakfast on the last morning? How was customer service otherwise?
