Good, detailed review, thank you. Still not been on her!

On the gravlax of salmon debate - I tried it on Ventura last year as I wondered what it was like (but didn’t want to risk paying for it on land!) I didn’t like it 😆

Thank you both

My husband’s friend is going on his first cruise in May on Iona. He wants to know how you pay for the casino. I have no idea as we never use it.
Does it just go on your cruise card or do people use cash?
Thanks for any help.

Hi Avril, just back from hospital now. Yesterday she was no way at all, in bed and sent us home because she didn’t want visitors. Today when I got there she was sat in a chair at the side of the bed. Drs say she can come home but there is no way she could manage at home. She has told them she doesn’t need a care package she can manage herself, in reality she can’t get across the ward to the bathroom without a nurse helping her. We have an appointment to see the Dr tomorrow afternoon. The other concern is she won’t eat, only having porridge and ice cream and is refusing any other food. I don’t know what to think really.
Michelle
That must be such a worry for you Michelle. Sounds like this has knocked her confidence. I hope things settle down soon.- 6

Afternoon all. Was a lovely sunny day yesterday but lots and lots of rain today.
Milder down South as there’s lots of daffodils out here including a few in my front garden.
John and I went to Bluewater yesterday and had lunch out. The shopping centre was very busy when we left about 2pm.
I hope Michelle’s mum is getting stronger xx

Thanks again Selbourne, loved the excitement of the Panama Canal. I saw a time lapse video from someone on your cruise elsewhere and it looked amazing. Fascinating.

I’ve cancelled a couple of excursions before, just sign in your cruise Personaliser and cancel them before you cancel the cruise if you have to. The refund is almost immediate.
Good luck!

@Peanut006 good new about your mum, hope she recovers well. Don’t forget to get her wound check booked up!

Some sad news just announced by the BBC, DJ Steve Wright has sadly died at age of 69. RIP.
I was really shocked to hear that, seems it was very sudden and he was no age really.- 2

I was in the wide awake club eventually managed to nod off about 3.30am .
Regarding travel insurance I called All clear for a quote as online I was getting told no offers available husband has been diagnosed with advanced prostrate cancer and we were feeling very down and really wanted a cruise. Hold on to your seats I could have cover for the sum of £3190.00 they came down to £2985.02 remember the 2p 😂 got to laugh or I'd cry! Anyway we're going to wait until until he's been on his treatment a bit longer to see if that will make any difference.
Sorry to hear this, hope you can manage to get a much needed break.- 3

The area on deck 18 near to the Beachcomber bar is adult only, so no screaming kids.👍🏻
Then again, there may be one or two yawping suvverners within earshot (ooh, light blue touch paper! 🤭)

I’ve seen recent YouTube videos where 99% of toilets seem to take cards now in Norway (obviously this thread was started in 2019) However there was one trip someone went on where they only took cash! A boat trip I think it was.

Re the milk ...I loved my daily milk ...came in little bottles then a certain Margaret Thatcher got rid of it. Thatcher the Snatcher I think she was nick named then. Am not being political... it makes me smile that it took me so long to work out when they called her that!!!
Sorry Presto but 🤢!I was given a white coffee at my mum’s Home the other day when I clearly asked for black! It went down the sink!

Still free school milk for all Foundation Phase pupils in Wales (4-7 year olds) and the Tory opposition are actually pressing for it to be provided for older primary pupils too. Local primary schools have milk fridges to keep it cold.
Ugh, my poor mum would have been writing notes until I was 7 then 😆My sister doesn’t like milk now because they would put the school milk near the radiators !

Thankyou again Selbourne for your reports. Loved the photo of your wife with the monkey.
I don’t find most of the lunch menus that interesting. We tend to have a ham salad or similar in the buffet for lunch, suits us. Or the glasshouse on a sea day!
Hope your poorly passenger will be ok and your sore throat gets better very soon.

You probably fell into the school years where they thought that children needed milk because following the war years a lot of children had various deficiencies due to rationing. I was born unable to tolerate milk or any other dairy products and 70 years later I still have really bad Indigestion if I have anything milky.
It wasn’t that soon after the war about 1970! 😏- 3

Had a good meal out last night with my lovely friends I met in the early 90’s while working Saturdays in Sainsbury’s when our children with small! Now 3 of us are 60 this year and all but one have grandchildren!
We were the loudest group in the restaurant and the only ones there at 10.30pm! 🤭

Hmm perhaps I’ll have to get some probiotic tablets. I was born not liking milk - honestly! Milky things make me heave! My mum had to write me a note every year excusing me from the school milk …

We're both fine thank you Sue. Frank had a quick check up on Tuesday and 'everything is satisfactory' (to use the doctor's words), so we're happy with that👍
Avril

I would be absolutely spitting if I lost Bermuda for Le Havre! Oh heck no. I could most definitely get to Paris with less fuss from my own doorstep than Le Havre.
Thank you I'll look into it. We have a 4yr old so always need to find something he will enjoy as well as us.
Even if you are happy with the change its really not on that they aren't letting people know. You might have booked a private tour for the port and need to know to cancel it. On our upcoming RC cruise they cancelled a port but let us know immediately.
Re your child, we went to some sort of flower/greenhouse at Honfleur that had loads of butterflies flying round, my son was about 16 at the time but he enjoyed watching them!

Josy, after your post I decided to have a little look at my NHS app and would you believe I should have had a phone consultation yesterday at 2pm!! I knew nothing about this! I am having a blood test next week ready for my annual review. Now I’m waiting a call back from the surgery as I didn’t get the call anyway! Let’s hope someone phones before I start work at 1pm.
