  1. As long as you have booked ‘flexible’ rate fare. 45 days is calculated by flight date or cruise sail date, which ever is sooner/earlier as many passengers elect to fly in many days before sail date.
  2. IIRC, Celebrity tried this a few years ago and all their fares included a drinks package, etc. Even though we have heard a large percentage of passengers elect to get at least the Plus package, Celebrity had to bring back ‘standard’ fares, so it would surprise me if Princess drops the option for a ‘no frills’ fare. It appears that percentage of passengers who would not use all the included amenities, was a large enough group for Celebrity to not want to lose, so no frills fares were again offered.
  3. Yes, to both questions. IIRC, in the changing rooms on most Royal class ships, there are 2 showers, one for accessibility needs. I believe the lockers work by keyless self set combination locks. I have not seen key on a wristband on Princess for many years, especially on Royal class, since fitness center is not by Spa, so no reception to get a locker key.
  4. There is an earlier thread titled ‘Is upgrading to Reserve Collection mini suite worth the additional charges?’ Currently on page 3 that you should probably review.
  5. Full suite get complimentary 1st night(embarkation) in a Specialty Restaurant . Some ships allow them to switch it to another night. You can have Concierge in lounge change if your ship has lounge, else call dine line or go to Specialty venue on embarkation to confirm or change if possible/allowed.
  6. If you are trying to use the coupon in the Princess book, you only need to ‘play’ $20, whether you win or lose is not the point of qualifying for the coupon. Sometimes the cashier will not even check if you have gambled at least $20, but you are mistaken believing you need to lose $20 before you can get the $10 free play coupon added .
  7. At some ports for various reasons, if you do not have your medallion and it was to be shipped to you, you may be issued a cruise card to be exchanged at guest services for your medallion, which can entail a long line on the first day.
  8. Are you all in the same cabin with one booking number? If so, then probably yes. If they are in an adjacent cabin with a separate booking number then , no if they are on standard fare.
  9. I did Syd to La on the Majestic and the on board currency was the USD so assume your Syd to YVR sailing is when the on board currency will change over to USD.
  10. @cruise_critical, thank you for your reply. You would think they would allow request for California roll which is basically the Spicy tuna roll without the added toppings. When I was on the Sapphire earlier this month, I asked if I could get all Ebi nigiri and was told No. On Sapphire the sushi is probably made in the kitchen for Vivaldi, whereas on most Royal class ships, made in front of you at Ocean Terrace. On Discovery late October, they allowed all Ebi and allowed request for California roll, another passenger reported they would also do veggie roll request for plus or premier package use.
  11. Is the Royal allowing substitution/customization as in can you request all Ebi nigiri and or California roll instead of the spicy tuna roll?
  12. @john5325, have you called in again to check if you were initially given incorrect amount to add passenger2 to your solo booking. My experience with Princess solo bookings where I paid a 100% solo supplement, adding passenger2 only incurred the additional amount of the taxes and fees. As a solo you also paid ‘double’ the amount for your upgrade bid, so it does not make sense why you were quoted more to add passenger2 than just the taxes and fees. Having a successful upgrade bid might have complicated your fare, so your situation probably requires special handling as @wen_c82has commented.
  13. Maki refers to the ‘type’ of sushi and translates to ‘roll’. Just like nigiri is the type of sushi where you have a rice ball with usually some sort of protein on top. For reference see post #2 which was the original Ocean Terrace menu which allowed more customization but seems Princess has transitioned to a ‘set’ menu and your ‘maki’ is the spicy tuna roll. The new menu does not mention you have a choice for your ‘maki’, where the first rollout you had a choice of 4 pieces of up to 2 different maki choices for a total of 8 roll pieces. @Cruise Raiderhas reported being able to custom order on the Discovery from a few weeks ago. California roll is tradionally made with crab(usually imitation on Princess), avocado and cucumber. She mentioned hers might have been custom made with shrimp, or she mistook the imitation crab for shrimp?
  14. Captains Club is the name of the loyalty program for Celebrity cruises. Princess is Captains Circle. There have been past threads regarding this issue and Princess has no incentive to do this at this time. Many thought a new tier would have been introduced with the restart.
  15. It appears for the ‘set’ if you are using a package, it is a fixed menu but on the Discovery in October, they let my customize as I was able to request my nigiri to be all ebi(shrimp) and my maki roll to be California roll which is basically, avocado, cucumber and crab(imitation), so no ‘raw’ per se. If you are ordering ala carte, there are non raw items, veggie rolls, etc.
  16. Go to princess.com/giftcard and scroll down which will have link where you can enter the gift card number and pin and the gift card balance will be shown. The link will go to wbiprod.storedvalue.com.
  17. @Snaxmuppet, I hope you did not misunderstand and think the sushi menu was cut down to ONLY the nigiri. You now get 4 not 5 pieces of nigiri AND the 8 pieces of maki roll, being the spicy tuna roll, so the cutback is the loss of 1 piece of nigiri, as shown in post #10. Post #15 from November Discovery shows 5 pieces of nigiri.
  18. @gvre, thank you for the photo, I believe the menu has been updated to only 4 pieces of nigiri being 2 salmon, 1 tuna and I ebi(shrimp). Was the Discovery still allowing substitutions ? In Oct, I was able to request all Ebi nigiri and California roll instead of the Spicy Tuna roll.
  19. Yes, appears most ships have changed to his ‘lunch’ menu with only a few items changing. I did see recently from a live, a ship was using the old menus, but I know Sapphire, Emerald and Discovery have switched. I agree, I looked forward to certain lunch menus in the past. On my recent 18 day Sapphire down to So. America, I did not go to MDR lunch on sea days as much, having Premier helped as I would do Alfredo’s and Sushi instead.
  20. So as to not get any crew in trouble, I will not name the ships, I know of at least 2 ships recently that allowed sharing of the sushi, so one person would order the ‘set’ menu and another passenger would be able to sit and share the meal. One even allowed you to get the sushi platter to go, hope this policy (sharing and Togo) will be adopted on the other ships.
  21. One deck below is Savoy and Vivaldi, the only difference is the decor. You might find waitstaff/decor to your liking in one of the dining rooms, which would sway your preference.
  22. Since you have a TA, on board, Princess can not help you since your TA owns the booking now.
  23. It validity of Princess FCD’s has not been 4 years for quite some time. It has been 2 years and was recently reduced to 1 year as of early April 2023. FCD’s purchased before the April 2023 date will still have the 2 yr expiration. Unless you call to have the expiration extended, the refund should be automatic to the credit card used to purchase the FCD, so if you think you will still possibly cruise, you can have it extended instead of refunded. I do not believe the OBC earned from using a FCD has changed.
  24. The $15 upcharge is if you want the pre fixe 3 course menu. With Standard cruise fare, a visit to Alfredo’s, you can choose to order the $15 menu or ala carte where the non specialty pizzas should run $8.5 and I believe as of Dec 1, 2023 will also have an 18% gratuity added. Some Alfredo’s/Gigi’s have a few specialty pizzas priced at $12. Ordering a pizza on Ocean Now previously was ‘free’, but I believe after August 2023, will show a fee of $8.50 plus gratuity.
  25. In my experience with a SD gift/promo, you are given the ‘experience’ not the value/OBC to be used. Please report back if you experience otherwise. It can get confusing with the different package limits, so I can see where you might think you were given a limit of up to $29 to spend on a SD. I think a similar situation is the 2 SD with the Premier package. Your travel summary will show a reference ‘value’, but you are not awarded/posted this amount as OBC if you did not reserve in the APP pre cruise.
