  1. The OP did not correct you, but if you read and looked at a few previous posts and pictures, you probably would not have used ‘wife’. Since the OP ‘liked’ your post, and did not comment about ‘wife’, will assume he had a nice giggle.
  2. @jaycruising, the reason you would not be able to use a FCD bought on cruise #1 on cruise #2 is your ‘acquired’ date of the FCD will be ‘after’ your booking/deposit date of cruise #2. A long time ago, Princess would ‘backdate’ a FCD so you would be able to use in your case, but they no longer will do this. So, you will need to cancel cruise #2 and rebook in order to use your new FCD, but of course if the fare has changed or a promo has been dropped, it might not make sense to rebook just to get the OBC with using a FCD. Get a FCD anyways, since they are fully refundable if you do not use. If you know someone currently on a Princess ship they can purchase a FCD now, which you will reimburse them, for you. They will need your Captain circle number and other ID info like your birthdate , or address on file to verify your Captain circle number is correct.
  3. Pretty much most drinks will be covered under Plus. Unless you want better whiskey, wine or real Champagne, practically every other mixed, frozen, martini drink is covered under plus being priced at under or $15. Also try to think how many times you will order a drink over $15 as you can just pay the difference and the service charge. If the Premier extras work as you would be doing 2 SD anyway, and more than 2 casual dining, then the math is a little tougher.
  4. @Robkat, even if u are able to talk to EZAir I am not sure what you think you can accomplish? @Steelers36response in post #11 pretty much explains your situation and options. ITA /Alitalia does not allow seat assignment till you are ticketed, EZAir normally does not ticket till 45 days before flight or saildate, and even sometimes later, you can request early ticketing but lose possible refare with fare drops. It appears ITA is the only option for the nonstop, so are you so concerned about your seat assignment to do early ticketing or just wait till ticketed when EZAir makes payment?
  5. @Itried4498, Emerald Princess at full double occupancy is 3,080 passengers, so you likely have a few families and solo’s. I encountered running out of Diet Coke in cans on the Emerald in July and August of last year too.
  6. Do you know what the ratio is of bet to casino point is on slots? I did not say you put $10,000 of your own $ into the casino. I assume when you hit your jackpots, you played thru with thier(casino$)/winnings, so yes with free play and jackpot wins, the amount of your own $ put into the machine would be less than $10,000, but even at 1 point per $1 bet, you have to ‘play’ /bet $10,000. So for your example as I am sure you had other smaller wins, you had 3 x $800 wins, plus let’s say $1,000 free play and a total of $1,500 smaller wins, so yes, you will not have needed to insert $10,000 of your own $ , but gained points playing with your winnings. My comment was to @Snaxmuppet, to give them an ideal of how much ‘play’ is needed to earn those 10,000 casino points.
  7. @Dinglebert, you need to consider which ship you will be sailing on as it varies on which ‘casual dining’ venue will be available and if these venues you would be interested in enjoying. Premier gives you unlimited casual dining visits opposed to only 2 with Plus. I personally do not care for Prosecco if I can have real ‘Champagne’. I believe Prosecco is $11 and the Champagne offered with the premier package is $19. Princess offers even higher priced options if you desire. Try to estimate how many over Plus drinks you might order, if casual dining is available on your ship and it matters to you. Do you care about fitness classes or the premium desserts having unlimited with Premier and limited with Plus. Princess prizes is a game, and the odds of winning a prize can be found on the website.
  8. @Snaxmuppet, I believe the ratio of amount of bet to points has been adjusted from years ago when I used to play in the casino. I think at one time it was every $3 or $5 played on a slot, you received 1 casino point. Let’s just say for fun it is only $1.50 bet for 1 point. At that ratio, to earn 10,000 casino points you churned thru $15,000. Remember you gain a casino point for betting which will not necessarily mean you ‘lost’ all that $. Even if you got 1 point for betting $1, you would need to churn/bet a total $10,000! to gain 10,000 casino points. I believe video poker earns the least points per play and it is different between slots and table games. The casino host in the casino will be happy to explain it all. @memoakgets ‘free’ cruise offers for their play besides other bennies(specialty dinners, etc.) and it works for them.
  9. Just off 18 days on Sapphire and we had 11 Sea days. Actually the lunch menu DOES change, slightly. You have to pay attention. I believe 1 starter and 2 mains will change, for the new ‘mains’ they will usually be the bottom two items on the right side, because everything else is the same, it is easy to conclude it is the same menu everyday. I still prefer the old sea day lunch menus that offered chimichangas, albondigas soup, beef satays, Frito Misto platter, tuna melt, eclairs , etc. on a rotating basis.
  10. Yes, I believe Emerald or Discovery last August or October, the ship towards the last couple days of a 7 day sailing ran out of Diet Coke, but they did have caffeine free Diet Coke. Was in the buffet and requested Diet Coke in a can, server brought back caffeine free Diet Coke and I thought he made a mistake and asked if they had regular Diet Coke and he went back to the bar and was told the ship was out of regular Diet Coke. You will find it can be location specific as later that day I was able to secure cans of regular Diet Coke at Good spirits, but eventually their supply was gone before the end of the cruise.
  11. I suggest checking your pictures everyday about mid morning the day after you take photos as they should be uploaded by then. When you login to your pictures, you have the ability to ‘like’ specific ones so in future viewings, you will have narrowed down your choices to your ‘liked’ photos, saving time for final review of which 3 you will finally choose to ‘print’. The system will allow you to just display your ‘liked’ choices, which should make final selection easier. Checking frequently will also insure all your photos are ‘found’ as sometimes the photo studio needs to manually ‘add’ photos to your portfolio. I have friends currently on the Sapphire and they are finding the system is not loading all of the previous nights photos into their profile, so it is easier to remember the next day hey that ‘xxx’ background photos we took are missing. Remember to ask the photographers for advice about customization you can do to the photos such as rotating, cropping, zooming in, filters , etc. You are not limited to the framing as presented and there is no additional charge to customize.
  12. I believe the Discovery switched to the ‘new’ lunch menus late October. Have you sailed since your October Regal?
  13. Princess on most ships have changed to a ‘new’ standard sea day lunch menu. A few items (maybe 3) change, but the majority is the same. An example is in the currentl live thread on the Emerald. There is no ‘brunch’ section as the new menu is separated by Appetizer and Mains. JB French toast is not listed but possibly may be requested?
  14. With the $80 Premier package, you can have unlimited ‘Virgin’ drinks and or soda. If you are not a big alcohol drinker, does it make sense to have the $80 premier instead of the $60 Plus? Will you get enough value paying $20/day more? Yes, with Premier you get the 2 specialty Dinners so for short cruises it usually makes sense if you were planning on going to Specialty dining. Do you think you will order many alcohol drinks over the $15 limit for plus? There is the possibility of winning a Princess prize having Premier, but you can decide if this is an amenity of value. I believe the photo studio on Royal class ships (I believe you will be on the Regal? )no longer print photos for viewing. You can view your photos thru the Medallion APP on your own device or go to the photo studio and use one of the monitors there to view your photos. You can also do some customization like cropping, rotating, different filters, etc. ask one of the photographers to show you the various options. There is no charge for customizing. You can then select 3 pictures to be printed as part of the package and of course have additional photos printed for a fee. You will also be able to get a digital download of every photo. Some ships will supply a flash/usb drive and some ships will ask you to purchase a flash drive. You can also download to a phone or tablet which is what most of the ship’s photographers will suggest, on the Discovery and Emerald last year, they provided a complimentary flash drive. Last month on the Sapphire, I was told if I wanted my pictures downloaded to a flash drive, I would need to purchase one, I had the premier package in all of these cases.
  15. Review the ships deck plans. Regal is a Royal class ship and on deck 5 midship you will find the Gelato bar next to Vines. Gelato and Ice Cream are similar but google what is the difference between Gelato and Ice Cream for more detailed info.
  16. Yes, the respective dining room will be listed on the event listing/patter. Go to Guest services to ask for copy as usually you do not have access to your cabin yet or your steward has not delivered yet. Many Royal class ships and the Sapphire, uses the dining room on deck 6 aft for Embarkation/sea day lunch and breakfast. Some crew when asked, will tell you no dining room open for Embarkation lunch, just check the patter/event listing. There have been a few rare cases where embarkation lunch was not being offered in a dining room.
  17. This was how the Royal class cabins were originally setup , with using your cruise card to be inserted in the associated slot to activate the lights, etc. The slot is still there, but the cabins were revised so a card insertion is no longer required. My last MSC ship required your key card to activate the cabin, on some cruiselines, you used to be able to insert ‘any’ card or even heavy paper into the slot. MSC’s cards have a chip, so any other card like from another Cruiseline will not work.
  18. No 18% charge for ‘free’/included meals, example the 2 SD meals that come with Premier pkg. I also was gifted a SD from my travel agent and again no 18% charge. This was on Sapphire after December 1, when the 18% went into effect.
  19. On the Emerald and Discovery last year and the photo department gave me a complimentary usb/flash drive with all my photos, last month on the Sapphire with the premier package, the photo department said if I wanted a flash drive, I would have to purchase one. So they are not being consistent.
  20. Yes, see my post #9, your cruise is ONE segment as you can also verify in your cruise history, unless you are sailing in a suite or solo, which would give you additional cruise credits. So only 1 elite mini bar set up and only 2 casual dining credits for the whole 54 days.
  21. No, crab shack is not considered casual dining option.
  22. When u use your 2 casual meals with plus, you do not have to order all 3 courses. You will not be charged any ‘service(18%)’ fees. Your specialty dining at Sabatini’s will incur an 18% service charge if booked after Dec 1, 2023.
  23. Yes, the embarkation lunch menu is still offered. The ‘new’ lunch menu does have a few items that change, but mostly the same. I much prefer the old rotating lunch menus where each menu was totally different from the previous.
  24. Yes, on Discovery earlier, Oct 2023, could get unlimited any flavor gelato at the Gelato bar. On Emerald in August and told no, only included gelato available was on lido deck where they made the Premium Sundaes. So it depends on ship.
  25. @cruzrbachouahave you gone to the next step like @_rusty_shacklefordhas reported at check out the price corrects to the current rates, so the initial price shown is most likely an error? Currently the new APP does not show all bookings and access is only via booking number for now to see you other bookings.
