  1. When I saw my electrophysiologist (cardiologist) last week, I told him I was fibrillating for 3 hours the night before. I stayed up till it slowed down so I wouldn’t die in my sleep! Heart rate went up to 143 but mostly around 119-120. He told me I was still fibrillating sitting in his office. My pacemaker told on me. I couldn’t tell because it wasn’t trying to climb out of my chest. My Xarelto is to keep me from having a stroke, so I wasn’t worried about that. Long term, though, it will weaken the heart, so I hope your doctor’s on it.
  2. We have never sailed on an MSC ship, but are thinking maybe in February. I know nothing about them except that they added cruising to their repertoire a few years ago. The ships look gorgeous. A friend said there are 2 or 3 Broadway shoes on every sailing. I’ve seen Hairspray, Cats, and Mamma Mia on Royal, but each ship only does one. Does MSC actually do 2 or 3? Which shows do they do? I was also told they honor other cruise line loyalty programs. Sounds expensive. Is that true? It could clinch it for us, for sure. How’s the food? Royal has made changes to the MDR I’m not happy with. I’ve sailed on just about every line, and food is one of my reasons for sailing. Any great things I haven’t heard about? Any info you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated.
  3. I know that you will face this challenge and keep strong as you fight hard. The medical world makes strides every day in treating what was untreatable. Our prayers and well wishes will be ongoing.
  4. There were some I didn’t bother with. I just reinstalled the apps I actually use. And then moved them all around to get them in approximately the same place they were.
  5. I have the recorder app. I wish to heck I’d have thought of recording Bill’s voicemail. Thanks for reminding me. I reinstalled all of my apps I could think of. A little while ago I needed the flashlight and realized I didn’t think of it. I’m sure there will be more to come!
  6. The thing is, everything transferred beautifully…totally seamless. it is when I went into the Find My app that I screwed up. I will never touch it again!
  7. Have you called Amazon? Or emailed? I’ve gotten help in the past from them and they were able and willing. I don’t remember which phone number, but wouldn’t hurt to try both. The email address is helpful, too. I just read you got the help you needed. That’s great. I only read in my Kindle, so I would have been tearing my hair out!
  8. I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend. Traditionally our parochial schools had Easter Monday off, extending the weekend. So I still think of the week as starting on Tuesday. I had a pretty disastrous weekend, at least Friday and Saturday. I got an iPhone 14 Pro, and Dick inherited my 8 Plus. Not being very brave about transferring data, we went to an Xfinity store for the afternoon Friday. David, a very patient guy, moved my data to the new phone and moved Dick’s to my old phone. it took forever, but worked beautifully. So Saturday mornin I was fiddling with my lovely new phone and looked at the Find My app. Saw that it said 8 Plus. So I clicked on it, and the next thing I knew “phone locked”. I couldn’t get into it. After at least 30 minutes I got “erase phone”. Not being more then .02% tech savvy I clicked on it and factory reset my new iPhone. My phone was blank! Dick was waiting for an AC repairman because our air went out. I flew past him and out the door like the devil was after me. I made myself drive the speed limit back to Xfinity, where I clutched David around the knees and begged for a miracle. He told me I had cleared it of everything. After I got up off the floor I asked if some of it was in the Cloud. He asked if I had backed my phone up. I don’t think he thought a lot of my intelligence! Long story short, he got it started uploading and sent me home. Got home and I couldn’t get into it. Back to Xfinity, and David did some more magic ; I had to sign in with my very ancient password I hadn’t used in 20 years, but it worked. When I got home, I went into the App Store and started reinstalling my apps as I thought of them. Then I started putting them in folders again, like Restaurants, Medical, Finance and Sports. Last was having to log back into each and every one. What I permanently lost: A Voicemail from my brother Bill who died Dec 3…that is crushing. My Kindle Store App that let me buy Kindle books on my phone. Kindle eliminated the app. My Jaguars emoji keyboard. Also no longer exists. I got everything else back except my phone records. Lessons learned: Keep everything backed up. Do not touch the Find My app. Ever! My heart is way stronger than my cardiologist thinks it is.
  9. @dani negreanu You and your family and all of the people of Israel are in my heart and my prayers. May wiser heads prevail!
  10. The most painfully exquisite moments of my life were when driving down from Taormina at dusk. We went around curves below walls loaded with blooming bougainvillea, and below the outer side of the road we looked down at the coast with little lights starting to come on. Then it was dark, and our driver put in a tape of Pavarotti dining Nessun Dorma. We burst into tears, because our hearts were squeezed so tight.
  11. I don’t remember the name. Some kind of possum, I think. Scary looking, though, but too little to do much damage! I know computer savvy people can post a picture and get details on it. I got an iPhone 14 Pro yesterday and spent the first half hour trying to get into it after transferring everything from my 8 Plus.
  12. The WGHOF is still open. Evidently it’s not cut and dried that it will close. Maybe just part will move to Pinehurst.
  13. I had not heard that. The latest thing I read was that everything donated or lent by the golfers would be returned to them. I haven’t been in half a dozen years, but back when I was there we had putting contests and a golf simulator, and revolving special exhibits like Ben Hogan’s life. I went to a driving range once, on a first date. I never heard from him again. I’m just about as good putting. But I love to watch…loved my 18 years of leaderboard, scorer, and marshal.
  14. I remember Montauk Point being about the farthest you could drive and still make it home by bedtime. back then, the closer you got the more sand dunes and open spaces. I can’t imagine what it would be like now.
