  1. agree Sheraton is a great location. Spent many a night there back in the 1990's.
  2. If you take the Regent hotel - as part of the cruise fare, e.g. Penthouse - but not the air they do not arrange for transport from the airport to the hotel, is my understanding correct?
  3. The Sheraton is indeed in a great location, having stayed there many times in a former life when I was in Stockholm multiple times a year on business. Near Central Station and Gamla Stan.
  4. We too now live in Las Vegas, actually Henderson, and are not on the included cities. What Regent offered was totally unacceptable from Lisbon. As it turns out we are on a non-Regent TA in October and booked our own R/T LIS / LAS so with the "arrange your own airfare" money back and the TA actually much better to do on our own. But was really disappointed with the flights Regent countered us with when we sent our request. Talk about PAINFUL flights.
  5. Time will tell with pricing given they have yet to sail. We got at the time a very reasonable price for a cruise in 2024, if booked today might pass given no experience with the product. But with all the new ships coming on-line there is going to be increasing competition.
  6. Totally agree. Will be trying Ponant this year, but also sailed on Scenic that was great, and better than some of the other lines. Many, many days on Seabourn, Scenic service was what Seabourn used to be.
  7. Looks like you got some great stops, even accounting for the less than ideal weather. We were on the same cruise w/ Fletcher and simply sailed past Elephant Island, there never was a plan to explore it. Plus you had the possibility of multiple landings per day. That was a great cruise for many reasons but when we return to the Antarctica it will be on a smaller ship than the Quest. So many more choices now with all the expedition ships released and yet to come on-line. Glad we started in Santiago instead of travelling on that worse for the wear plane.
  8. On our last 2 Seabourn cruises we arrived before our assigned times, 1st only about 20 minutes not knowing if they were enforcing the boarding time or not, but since we were boarding in Miami for a TA had to sit in the terminal past the assigned time and then stand in a queue in the gangway for another 20 minutes while people fumbled with their phones to find the Seabourn source "pass" when 300 people ran to join the ship. Last cruise we arrived early and walked on to the ship.
  9. No I can take my own quite well, rather by his lack of interaction in general. Many years ago Nick Hale, IMO one of the top 4 Seabourn CD's, took great photos sailing into Maui on the SYD -> LA cruise and did send them to us the same day he promised them
  10. sailed with him twice and was not impressed.
  11. On the 2 cruises we have done on Seabourn this year: Ovation and Sojourn I thought the food was very good, better than some cruises in the past. Staffing issues another story, however.
  12. Problem is the on-board folks don't always bother to update the data the app uses. On our last cruise in November the day we embarked it had the prior night's menu's. And that was not uncommon, glad to know the people who disembarked when I boarded had the choice of X Y and Z but no use to me knowing where we want to dine. Multiple days the menus were not updated. Some days the app simply did not work. Also the internet was up and down despite us being in the Caribbean, not a distant location.
  13. Currently on Sojourn, today is a sea day and MDR open for both lunch and breakfast.
  14. I prefer mid ship deck 9 for convenience, like 8 on O class ships.
  15. We submitted a request for AA flights back from Lisbon. 2 weeks later were instead offered flights on Air Canada. Totally not close to what we requested, will take the credit and book our own. First time sailing Regent and totally not impressed with the air department nor assigned hotel included with penthouse booking.
  16. That is disappointing as we have done quite a few trans Ocean cruises over the last 10 years and the MDR was always open on every sea day for lunch and usually for breakfast, but we usually do not eat breakfast.
  17. I always wondered why certain CD's would make a comment about filling up a suitcase with Molton Brown products during the crew farewell. And people really do that? We can barely fit what we brought in the suitcase, last thing we need to do is add liquids.
  18. I would not go near this company from all the above. Despite my never contacting them I get emails everyday day from them. Wasting time sending them to me. So many options why risk your money with this company?
  19. Hopefully that will be the case when we join the Sojourn in a few weeks as we enjoy lunch in the MDR.
  20. Canadian friends who were on a Regent cruise that was going to ports in India were told they couldn't get off the ship since India requires physical passport for a visa and long lead time. Stop spending tourist dollars in a country that makes it hard to visit and undercuts jobs in the tech and other industries by offering cheap wage offshoring. JMO working in tech and seeing people lose jobs to Indian companies.
  21. I agree about Explora Journey, seems although wish the pax load was 200 smaller, like it could be a great experience. We are giving it a try also.
  22. And why many left for other lines, WindStar and especially Scenic where 80% of the hotel crew on our June cruise were ex-Seabourn
