NOW I have a problem with the new Suite policies
wineoclock replied to sixpackeddie's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Our cabin steward (Aqua) on Silhouette in June was a gem! If I had a ‘host’ like him I’d be happy. Boarding Beyond in 2 days - magic carpet suite. So let’s see! m Edit: I intend to have a great cruise. Butler or not! -
I’m gluten free but not coeliac. I don’t eat gluten as it affects my rheumatoid arthritis. Eating it means I can’t walk for a week or more and I’m in severe pain with swollen joints. This was all done under hospital supervision. There was a study at my consulting hospital and it was found that over half the rheumatoid patients reacted badly to eating gluten. Some were also diagnosed with coeliac- unsurprisingly as both are autoimmune conditions.

We sail Friday on Beyond in a Magic Carpet Suite. We have been in an SS, PH CS and Aqua before. I’ll be comparing the service we get. If it’s more similar to the Aqua, then I’ll be making it known on my return by filling in the survey and emailing head office. But I still intend to have a great cruise!

Regent - Unreasonable Air Itineraries - Never Again
wineoclock replied to Golfess's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
How on Earth is this in any way acceptable? Insurers having to make up for a mistake that was most likely foreseeable. We’ve booked our first regent cruise (concierge) next year and I’ve sold it to my husband as a wonderful experience from start to finish. If it isn’t great I’ll be miffed. -
NOW I have a problem with the new Suite policies
wineoclock replied to sixpackeddie's topic in Celebrity Cruises
It’s a small reason but I downgraded our CS next June to an SV. £20,000 for a CS. No minibar and no guarantee that the suite experience won’t degrade any further. With the saving I’ve booked a cruise on Regent Splendor to try next October. -

Mind you for the amount a CS costs it’s a little cheap to not include at least some soft drinks imo. -

We were in a CS last October. Our mini bar was stocked with beers (including gluten free beer), water and soft drinks of our choice. The stock was replenished as required. -
Liveish trip report - Celebrity Silhouette - 11.10.23
wineoclock replied to rwright261's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We found this on our cruise on Silhouette in May/June. It was half term so I thought that may have had something to do with it. So many times ended up going back to our balcony as nowhere to sit before dinner or after. OVC was always packed! It was hunt the table. -
Barcelona or Rome options for start of cruise?
wineoclock replied to davide2002 's topic in Ask a Cruise Question
Personally if you have never been you can’t beat Rome with all the history. However Barcelona has an added buzz and closer to the port. Have you thought of starting in one of the ports and finishing in the other? (I know not what you asked) and then can experience both of them? If so I’d start with Barcelona, less frantic imo and I think easier to get over the jet lag, then end the cruise with a few days in Rome. -
@Tampa Girl We used PK travel. Were excellent.

Enjoy. Happy anniversary. Was onSilhoutte in June and loved her. Sad we’ve got Apex in exchange! -

We will be on Beyond in the 20th 🤞in a MCSuite. I’ll try and remember to post and to give an accurate account as to what I think. Silhouette In June was a bit of mess service wise, (Aqua) as it was U.K. half term, so absolutely packed to the rafters, but we still had a great cruise. If we couldn’t get a drink in one bar we just tried another or took back to our balcony. Cafe al bacio was awful but a lot of staff were sick. So excusable -
Dh got a blue chip offer on our last cruise for an inside. As we usually sail suites and it wasn’t a time we could go we passed. However if we get another offer and we can take it we will. Inside or not 😁 a cruise is a cruise!

We also always stay at the Hotel des Artes - fabulous hotel.

Most amazing ship you have ever cruised on?

My very first cruise on Celebrity Galaxy. Blew me away. Then Disney Wonder - just loved the art deco theme. Beautiful. -

Thank you @DaKahuna and @Cap_D I really like Paul Bembridge but hadn’t seen his latest video regarding Celebrity. I now have. So thank you I’ll look out for the travelling gamblers. Am on steroids at the moment and been awake since 2.30am it’s now 3.45 so May see if I can while away my time 😁 -
I have a destroyed nerve in my inner ear. (Since 1988 & finally diagnosed 1992). I regularly do the Cooksey Cawthorne exercises but doesn’t always help on the sea hence the cinnnarizine. I also always take lemon and ginger tea with me and ask for a kettle in the room so I can make it myself as needed.

Well done. At some point Celebrity will need to start listening.
