  1. We just book Speciality dining for the restaurants we want so as to get when we want. Done LPC once and Wouldn’t bother again. But nice as a novelty. Food wasn’t great we didn’t think.
  2. 2 lines DCL Celebrity Have a Regent cruise booked Due to health I can no longer fly long haul so most of our cruises are in Europe. Still trying to persuade dh for a QM transatlantic. Those who have sailed Celestyal/Louis (sp?) what did you think please? @Essiesmom and @Izzywiz We are often in Cyprus and have never thought of them!
  3. We have our first Regent cruise on Splendor booked in October next year. What time are the theatre shows roughly please?
  4. Thank you @Veinless. We had looked at swapping our June cruise to Princess but had a family clash so had to stick with Celebrity. I swapped in the end to an SV from a CS as I couldn’t justify almost £20,000 for a CS. That’s mad money. Now I’m open to trying out other lines I sort of excited doing research!
  5. Or to push people towards speciality dining. Maybe I’m just cynical 😁
  6. Thank you - I’m looking forward to trying it out @PhD-iva. (Great name) We don’t cruise much as others on here as dh isn’t as keen so we/I have to compromise 😁 I love cruising and would be happy (but poor) if I lived on a ship full time!
  7. I’ll just add PH on Constellation was amazing. Omg the balcony. Several years ago but we were told we could have what we wanted within reason. Dcs liked the buffet for lunch, seeing them coming back with their food one day, butler took it off them and brought it in. He then asked every day what they wanted! They didn’t take him up on his kind offer though as they liked going up to choose.
  8. I mainly eat fish. On Apex in Luminae I had to send my fish back so many times as either raw or overcooked. I ended up ordering either the meat or veggie options. Fine but I’m also gluten free. In June we were Aqua. I didn’t need to send my fish back once!
  9. I hope this isn’t the case as I always use the same person at U.K. celebrity. I used a TA for my Regent cruise next year as I wanted advice on different cruise lines that offer similar style service to the Retreat. If I were to book Celebrity again then I would book on board or through Celebrity U.K.
  10. And tbh I think while the ships are sailing full nothing will change for the better. Thank you @Dolebludger for posting your Regent experience. We May like it, we may not but X has pushed us into trying elsewhere. We will be trying Oceania and MSC YC at some point in 2025/6. Dh isn’t a great fan of cruising so we do a few on the trot then have a break for a few years til l I can persuade him again 😁
  11. We’ve just got back from Cyprus but were staying in our house. Gorgeous weather so imagine Turkey is similar.
  12. And that in essence is why we book suites at times. Our cruise in June next year I’ve changed from a CS to a SV. Too much ££ and not a lot in return at the moment. We will do speciality dining. With the change of cabin I had extra so booked a concierge cabin on Regent.
  13. Ahh thank you. I know I’m my own worst enemy. I use a walking stick and have done for 20+ years so it’s probably pretty obvious when you see me. At least as I’m approaching 60 years old people aren’t so surprised as they were when I was in my 30’s :))
  14. What a shame can’t recommend TAs on here! That’s a good saving. Just booked my first Regent cruise so just reading around the posts:))
  15. For us it’s the fact that it finishes at 10am. I’m not keen on OV for breakfast and Luminae finishes at 9am. On a sea day 😬😁
  16. For me my favourite thing on Apex in a CS last year (med cruise) was coming back to a tray of fruit. I’m limited mobility and after a day out to go to the lounge to get a drink or a bit to eat is sometimes too exhausting. I’ll probably do what I did on Silhouette in May (Aqua) and either stop off at cafe al bacio or go straight back to my room depending on how I am. It’s fine but it’s not what I paid for at the time of booking. And I’ll be making it known on the survey. And it’s why my booking I just made is on Regent.
  17. It’s this cruise - I have to say I’m very pleased with the price. https://www.rssc.com/cruises/SPL241024/summary?source=CruiseSearch&r=EURMD&m=2024-10&sh=SPL I also have a suite guarantee for my upcoming Beyond so I’m not going to be too disappointed with the lack of butler as I paid just under £7800 for 10 nights which at current X prices isn’t too bad.
  18. We’ve also booked a Regent cruise for next year. Went for a concierge suite so no butler. Looking forward to trying it.
  19. On E class the only option for a real balcony is an SV (hen’s teeth) or a suite.
  20. Zach was fairly damming of his retreat experience. I wonder whether Celebrity are taking note. If not, they should be.
  21. For the two of us. I thought it was too good a price to miss! £3225pp for 7 nights. A discount as well from agent so was £6272.
  22. At the end of the day loyalty is a two way street. We have 2 upcoming X cruises. One in a suite, one in a SV. Last week I booked a third. With Regent. If we like it great. If not will look around again. It also was a good price. Just over £6000 (7 nights) for a concierge cabin so includes flights and pre night stay as well as drinks and excursions.
  23. Our upcoming Beyond cruise is almost sold out. Imo I don’t think Celebrity will be changing any of their policies anytime soon if ships are sailing full, unless the cruise surveys are scathing then it may give them pause to reflect. Personally I don’t see that happening unless ships are regularly not selling.
