  1. You CAN select seats prior to check in, and there are several ways to do it. One requires the record locator number (some may require the PNR number instead) while the other does not. With Record Locator: Some airlines will not allow you to see the flight information even if you have a record locator number (looking at you American Airlines) when booked with a third party consolidator like FbC, but there are several hacks by using partner airlines websites to do so. We fly exclusively One World partner airlines so once I have the record locator, I head on over to the Royal Jordanian Airlines website and insert my records locator number in the Manage My Booking page. From there, I can see the seat map (also availability) and our assigned seats for each flight. If the seats automatically assigned are acceptable, I move on with my life. If not, I jot down the seats I would like and then call FbC with my preferred seat selection. They usually make the changes while I am still on the phone with them. Without Record Locator: I use Expert Flyer to check each's flight seat map and availability. With my preferred seats in hand, I call FbC and have them assign those seats to us and then ask them for the record locator. I then verify that the seats were correctly assigned to us by using said record locator on the airline's website (or partner site). It's been awhile since I have used FbC, so some of the above methods may have changed. I know there are quite a few fellow CC'rs that use hacks like I have described above, so I am sure they'll chime in with any updated information. Hope that helps.
  2. Yup. Aboard the Summit. You're welcome.
  3. One of the online cruise sites is showing availability on the 4 night and allowing you to chose a stateroom You saw the 5 night on the Summit for the 28th, I presume?
  4. Loved both reviews. Thank you for sharing. Is there anything in particular that surprised you about the Beyond (service, food, the ship)? We'll be on her next week.
  5. Agreed, but my point was that there can be coverage available and not to just discount that there isn't.
  6. It's up for me and the only change I see is that they released May 2025 Hawaiian to Vancouver cruise on the Edge
  7. Pretty impressive if that's with one hand on the walker 🤣
  8. Some plans DO cover pre-existing conditions for non travelling family members. I know for a fact that IMG iTravelinsured plans do. Might want to look into them.
  9. For us, this is not worth it. I just deal with the insurance issue twice: once when we book and once when we make the final payment. By that time, I usually have the trip nailed down (ie flights, private tours, pre and post hotels) so I have a pretty good handle on what final coverage needs will be.
  10. It really depends on your needs. We purchase our plans within 14-21 days of initial booking, but we only purchase the plan to cover the initial amount at risk (deposit). Once we make final payment, we increase the amount of coverage for the full trip cost, including flights, tours, stays, etc. This allows us to get coverage for pre-existing conditions while not having to layout all the funds for the full cost of coverage. The folks at tripinsurancestore.com (Steve) are very knowledgeable and handle all of our trip insurance needs.
  11. We usually book the cabin we want and wait until the next day to call. They'll credit the price difference between your chosen cabin level and the next lowest level within the same category.
  12. Hands down, Rome in Limo! Their tour guides are very good. Might want to check the roll call for your cruise and see if you can join someone that has a tour booked already.
  13. We're also on Suez cruise and booked early as we wanted an SV.
  14. Baltic for sure. We did it awhile back on the Silhouette and is one of our favorite cruises. St Petersburg was amazing. Too bad Russia had to go mental earlier this year...
  15. Lobster tails.....and to think they were once considered as slop and fed to prisoners and the poor. We've come a long way.
  16. I just booked a New Zealand cruise and AI came up for me. Try clearing your browser cache.
  17. I do not know about RCL's transfers, but here's the information of the Ravenna port to city bus shuttle service. https://www.turismo.ra.it/en/shuttle-bus-ravenna-porto-corsini-cruise-terminal/
