The Grand Princess had a tropical themed party last night with a live band and cocktails.

Have you tried clearing the cache on your browser (ie all the cookies relating to carnival) , or even better, using a different one (eg mozilla) that you have never accessed carnival from before (maybe even a different computer)? It's a long shot but worth a try.

Yes you can, as long as at least one person in the second cabin has a VIFP number. If you do not put a VIFP number, it reverts to standard prices. I am not sure if it is targeted at specific VIFP numbers though. I tried my partner's number and it worked. YMMV. Also, cannot use the same VIFP number twice.

You haven't posted what passports you are holding. Here is the link for Australia. Follow the steps and it will tell you what visa you need. For New Zealand, if you are from a visa waiver country, you'll only need a New Zealand travel authority (NZeTA).

You can order a Happy card from amazon which gives you 60 min free local calls and 12gb data. I have used simdirect before, which uses separate sims for each country, but you get unlimited calls to the US.

I made a bid to upgrade from regular balcony, to premium balcony on the Grand Princess sailing Nov. Then I found out that there are twelve premium cabins that are twin bed only. I don't want to risk getting twin beds so I cancelled the bid. Is my reasoning correct? If so, maybe it could be something others might consider before bidding as well.

P&O are having a "buy 2 get 2 free" sale on selected sailings. Eg if four adults share a cabin on an 11 nighter to Vanuatu ex Sydney, it works out around $46 pp/day. Perfect for large groups or fans of Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice.

I had a fantastic cruise on this beautiful ship last month. Can confirm that the ship never feels crowded and the crew are great. Even though she is getting on in years, she is well maintained and a pleasure to sail on. There are a lot of informative posts in the Australia & New Zealanders thread about this ship. My choice would be Southbank ( Langham , Mercure Crown Towers) . Close to everything and away from the current Metro construction in the central business district. A couple of days in Melbourne is plenty. There is a fantastic zoo at Healesville, which is definitely worth the trip if you want to see all the amazing native Australian animals.
