  1. Is this 2/9/23 ABC itinerary on Equinox? We booked a Celebrity excursion in Bonaire…a Viator excursion in Curaçao and will get to a beach in Aruba. I thought it’s odd also since excursions are available for all ports for December, 2023.
  2. We sailed on Reflection in January. No more individual bottles of shampoo/conditioner in the shower…only larger bottles mounted on the wall.
  3. My first cruise on Celebrity was in concierge because of a last minute upgrade...I didn't see the benefit. I'm also not a foodie so Blu would not be important to me; I am usually happy with the MDR or OVC! I am happy to spend a little more money to get a Sunset Verandah to enjoy the views of the wake. I am also a non-drinker so that perk doesn't benefit me.
  4. Our group did it on Jewel a few years back. The murder took place in a lounge; we were then moved into a space for the dinner and clues to try to solve the mystery (sorry, can't remember the names of the venues). The crowd quickly became disinterested and very loud. I was trying to follow along but couldn't hear anything. Pretty disappointed. At least the dinner was good!
  5. I'll be following along...I have twice sailed on Edge, both times in a SV...and have Apex booked for December, 2023, also in a SV. Can't lie...that's the only way to go! Also not a suite person; a "regular" cabin in just fine for this "regular" girl. We also got to meet Captain Kate on Edge...what a rock star! My friend and I brought little gifts for both her and Bug; she actually sent a gift to my cabin along with a handwritten thank you note. I remember thinking what a great job her parents did with her!!! Maybe I'll be sailing on Beyond someday! Susan
  6. Thanks! I should have just flown the day before the cruise and had a test here at home where I usually do!!!
  7. I'm still doing some research and have contacted by TA for a recommendation. eMed will help my friends as there are two of them (hubby & wife)...but as a solo, I would be paying $70 for two tests when I only need one.
  8. I have twice sailed on Edge…both times in a SV…deck 9 and then deck 10. I have a SV on deck 9 booked on Apex for next year. I agree with Germancruiser. SV is the only way to go. Amazing views of the wake; a true balcony and the extra steps to the aft of the ship are welcome.
  9. I just found Daislyn's email address: dsharpe@carambolabeachclub.com
  10. Carambola Beach Club is beautiful. We found it by mistake a few years back and now try to return on each visit to St. Kitts. I typically book ahead of time: www.carambolabeachclub.com. I have dealt with Daisylyn who is very helpful. We pre-book loungers and umbrellas. There are multiple taxis/vans at the port that can take you there for about $4pp (at least that's what it was pre-covid). They will also return for you at whatever time you request. There is a very nice restaurant as part of the resort, but we like to wander down the beach (I am directionally challenged on vacation...if you are on the beach and face the ocean, you will walk to the left) to a beach shack for a great, casual lunch. Restrooms are clean and well-maintained. We also love a beach massage...think ocean breeze and the sound of the waves as you relax. I'm not sure if that is still available due to covid; but the massage therapists are wonderful. Unfortunately, the club was closed for a private party this past January when we were there (another cruise ship booked the entire club 😥). I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
  11. Congratulations on your good health! Best advise: sit back, relax and enjoy your cruise. You will be visiting some of our favorite ports. If you enjoy a catamarran, the absolute best in Barbados is Calabaza. And we love a relaxing beach day at Carambola Beach Club in St. Kitts. P.S. Every cruise is the best cruise 😎
  12. A friend of mine and I usually share a cabin when her husband doesn't sail with us (I'm solo when he comes along). We got a great solo deal on Edge shortly after the re-start last September so separate SVs (DUH!!!). We also paid less to have separate cabins than we did on our prior Edge sailing which was pre-covid...also in a SV. She quickly realized the joy of having a cabin to herself! No bathroom sharing; no closet sharing; no sharing of any kind. We always make it work when we share, but each having our own space was great.
  13. I found the reduced price online; my TA contacted Celebrity to confirm the lower price (lower than I expected). I got my revised invoice within 45 minutes after sending the original email to my TA.
  14. Picture me bouncing off the walls...my savings with this promotion is actually about $1100 😉 Thank you mahdnc for the great news!!! Susan
  15. My February, 2023, Equinox sailing is on the list...already sent a note to my TA...she got me a great deal to begin with; but it looks like I can save about $400 more with this single supplement pricing! THANK YOU!!!
  16. We have the same challenge flying on Friday for a Sunday cruise. We will have to test in Florida on Saturday…but I will likely test here at home before flying to verify I am negative at that point. I don’t want to pay for a flight and hotel just to get bad news the next day. I know the testing is important, but will be happy when that requirement is lifted…hopefully by February in time for my Equinox adventure 😎
  17. I’m spending my time on the treadmill this morning looking at Equinox on the Port Everglades webcam and wishing I was boarding with you! Hope you have a wonderful cruise 😎⚓️
  18. Agree with ipeeinthepools regarding Calabaza in Barbados. It is the best catamaran in the Caribbean. in St. Kitts, we love a beach day at Carambola Beach Club.
  19. I sailed in 9660 on Jewel a few years ago…rest of our group were in the other aft cabins on deck 9. It was”deeper” than a normal balcony…lots of space! I typically sail in a Sunset Verandah on both S and E class on Celebrity (sorry, not familiar with Sweet 16 description). Go for it!
  20. Looking forward to your Equinox solo review. I booked Equinox for next February as a solo; but as with the last four or five solo cruises that I booked, I had friends/family decide to come along which has been great! So it will be December, 2023, before I sail solo on Apex. I'm sure you'll have a blast...as usual!!! Susan
  21. What began as a review of Bx's Reflection cruise has morphed into a discussion of school holidays dates! More review please.......
  22. While I would never book a cruise based on who the CD might be, I have had several that were fabulous...and one that left me cold! Best: Richard Spacey on Oasis of the Seas; Sue Denning on Celebrity Reflection; Luigi DelMar on Celebrity Edge (this past January); Juan & Beverly (husband/wife) on Cunard Countess Yuck: I can picture him but can't remember his name (Welsh guy...just didn't get his sense of humor or lack thereof!) on Celebrity Edge in December, 2019.
