  1. I stand corrected, we were only Elite a few cruises prior to Covid and we always had a drink package so I didn't realize this......
  2. Most experts would agree that the in room coffee maker is one of the LEAST cleaned items in the room. They may wipe down the exterior but you have NO IDEA what others have put inside of it. I would never use one. Now I would use a kettle for water because I can clean that one myself.
  3. That was pre-covid.....where the ONLY place to get a happy hour drink was at the Elite Happy Hour. Lots of changes once sailing resumed in 2021.
  4. Now I stack and save miles because I can no longer fly coach longer than 4 hours (unless they let me buy the middle seat so the two of us can have our own row). It's not that we don't fit in the seats comfortably but I hate rubbing shoulders for 12 hours with ANYONE!
  5. There is no difference between the price of these suites and the cost of first/business class airfare. Most of us would find it absurd to pay $10-$15K roundtrip from the US to Europe/Asia/Australia but people will pay for the space and exclusivity of the experience. The same holds true for cruise cabins across all of the major lines. When people stop paying rack rates....the prices may start to come down...but I doubt it.
  6. Wow.....huge benefit upgrade....Oh wait, it's just happy hour with the same Happy Hour drinks. An upgraded benefit would be allowing Elite and higher guests to order any drink versus a $10 or less well drink.
  7. I took my nephew on a Royal Cruise in early '22 and they had about 3 queues for different time slots. We unfortunately got there early because I am used to Celebrity and we were forced to wait outside for almost 2 hours.....it sucked Royally.....pun intended!
  8. Check in earlier next time and not 17 days after check in began. The only person to blame for this late time is you. Sorry if that hurts but it's also the truth. All of that being said, I haven't seen Celebrity check anyone's time in my dozen or so cruises in the last two years so show up when you want and roll the dice. I booked a super last minute cruise last year and when I checked in, the only time available was 2-2:30. When I checked again at 1am the day of boarding, I saw an 11-11:30 available and just changed it via the app.
  9. I am usually booking the Uber as I am walking off the ship or I may just head to the taxi stand. I have never waited more than 1 minute for a taxi at either of the South Florida ports. It also helps that I have a ticket that I can do same day changes on for free so I have that option in my back pocket if necessary.
  10. Our waiter in Luminae last month was and Indian chef and he would make special vegetarian dishes for my wife when she didn't like the fish or veggie option on the menu.
  11. I've made a 9:40 with enough time to visit the lounge first. As long as there are no issues with the ship getting into the port, you can walk off first thing and be there with 2 hours to spare.
  12. Why would you have to track down your passports?
  13. Your apple watch is typically blue-toothed to your phone so if the WIFI is on your phone, the watch will work as normal as long as the phone is in range.
  14. Pro Tip here........get Covid the last 5 days of your cruise and they walk you out the back door, hand you your luggage, you stroll past customs by waving your passport and viola.....get in a cab. It took less than 1 minute.
  15. The charges were more annoying to me than anything because I was trying (actually it became quite comical every morning when I checked my previous days charges) to whittle down my last $200 in OBC to zero out my account. Scrolling through all those extra charges just ended up wasting more of my time, especially when I had to head to the Retreat Lounge or Customer Service to deal with it.
  16. I have never found a public area of the ship or a cabin that was too cold. They tend to keep it a bit warm in my opinion. If you find yourself cold before others, take another layer with you to fight off the chill you experience.
  17. I had multiple conversations with the Retreat staff and customer service. They said this had been happening quite a bit on this cruise. From what I can gather, the bartenders were just asking if people had packages and ringing stuff up en mass later using one room number. I wasn’t the only one this happened to. I tried to address it via the survey but they did t ask for any explanations on negatively review items. To be honest, the survey is a joke. Perhaps it’s time for Celebrity to join the 21st century and use medallions or wristbands……for everyone. I also emailed the head office with my comments as it pertained to this issue and the ridiculous survey; I have yet to see a response.
  18. If there is no additional amount due because the package covers it, there is never a receipt to sign and then give a tip. Hopefully whoever was drinking on my dime, tipped in cash!
  19. I’ve eaten there once and although my steak looked good, it had zero seasoning and was tasteless. This was only my experience and I know others love it there so go and form your own opinion. I believe in giving all restaurants at least two chances.
  20. I am pretty sure it’s just a lazy server punching in a room number that they know has a premium drink package or a mistake. The frequency that it happened to us last cruise makes me lean towards option #1. As I mentioned, all but one was a zero charge.
  21. Plenty of less than scrupulous restaurants around the world actually serve Chuck Eye steaks and call them ribeyes. Why.....because it's half the cost and most people can't tell the difference. I'm not saying Celebrity does this but it does happen. I could also simply be the fact the cooks on Celebrity didn't season or cook it very well. On our last cruise in Luminae a few weeks ago, the steaks were all pretty tasty and with the exception of a dry filet.
  22. We just came off a 14 day cruise on the Millennium and our cards were charged for drinks almost every day in the theatre (we never ordered a drink there) and the MDR (we dined in Luminae). The other funny one was the 26 consecutive charges on the same afternoon from the Sky Lounge. Only one of the over 50+ incorrect charges actually cost money as most were a $0 charge since we had a premium drink package but it was super annoying. Guest relations was quick to refund the charge and told us there were dozens of passengers complaining about the same thing.
  23. Just came off a 14 day cruise where we gambled almost daily (I'm not sure what we risked overall but we left a slight winner) and I have seen two Blue Chip offers for the same thing.
