What happened to captain Stig Nielsen, Per Kristoffersen & Erik Standal?

If I remember correctly, Captain Stig left the Jewel and is now with either Celebrity or Azamara.

Capt. Per Kristopphersen was supposed to be on the TA last November, but Capt. Flemming came back early. I heard Capt. Per had surgery (maybe leg).

What happened to captain Stig Nielsen, Per Kristoffersen & Erik Standal?

 

He is one of the few captains that I can actually remember. When we sailed Serenade from San Juan he made our last day at sea so memorable providing a narration as we sailed past various islands on our way from Barbados back to San Juan. He also made our departure from St. Lucia very memorable. He is one of the very few captains who had a direct impact on our cruise. He is my idea of a great captain.

Tomorrow in St Maarten is the captain rotation on Brilliance.

Why Did Thore switch from Oasis to the Jewel? Does RCCL just move Captains around on Random, or can the more Senior Captains choose to move to smaller ships If one comes open, or If there Is a more Junior Captain that wants to experience a larger vessel can the Senior Captains choose to switch with them? Please explain, as I am new to learning all this. Some ships keep the same Captains for a while, like Captain Remo on the Independence? Look at Captain Wright the boss of all Captains Is on the Radiance, whats up with that, or does he just fill In wherever? Where Did Captain Zini go?

He decided to go back to sea in order to spend more time with his family - especially his grandchildren. He selected Radiance and it was basically Capt. Claus's time to move on. Most captains aren't with a ship much more than 3 years. So Capt. Bill has a ship he loves...for now. :) and he gets to spend every other 10 weeks or so in Norway with his family rather than being stuck in S FL most of the year.

While on Liberty in December we heard that Capt Per Kristoffersen would be transferring from Mariner to Liberty. Does anyone know if/when this will happen?

I could be wrong but the last I heard there was no one in that exact position. The duties were taken over by others which may or may not be a temporary change.

And now that this is "out", I will confirm that the dominoes do ripple down the line... and that I heard from top sources on Enchantment this week that Captain Anders will not be returning to relieve Captain Gus when he starts his 10 weeks "off" on February 16th.

 

The replacement for Captain Anders on Enchantment is known, but has not yet been announced.

And I'm at liberty to say that Captain Per Kristoffersen indeed had surgery, for a torn ligament in his leg.

 

He is home recovering, and hopefully will be fully recovered either late next month or early March.

 

Where Royal Caribbean places him, when he returns, is not yet known.

 

I believe that someone else has covered the other captains. I do know that Captain Stig is very happy with Azamara!

Any speculation as to which Captain will bring out the Sunshine class? I know It's to early to really speculate, but any thoughts at all would be nice.

:) You probably won't have to ask, they usually hand you a paper which lists all the senior officers for your sailing.

 

I would suspect that they will be talking about it by the later parts of the previous cruise. But who knows for sure.
