Gem 4/28/2018 Semi-Live again, take #3 NY-Port Canaveral-GSC-Nassau, what's new !

AT&T users get a better signal at the ship's berth at the pier over T-Mobile.

 

Ship's regular non-premium WiFi is good with Hangouts, Skype and Ooma (VoiP) using home # on the ship this morning while at sea. They use the same Cisco-Lucient-Altel hardware & wifi routers in the hallways, very good dual band coverage.

 

LG TV used an ethernet cable for input signal. Was able to plug in HDMI cable but port is blocked, sorry to share this w hopeful ones.

 

TV channels ... very limited. PPV is offered.

Apparently, there is a good # of crew returning to the ship today from leaves & vacations, not just time off for a few hours w luggage & bags in tow, using crew entrance on other side of fenced gate.

 

Watching them coming back for the last hour, should see some new & happy faces ...

Update by the Captain on the bridge, ship could run tender today at GSC due to wind from the northeast at 25 knots. Conditions remain for tomorrow worsen with adverse conditions so plan to visit cancelled for safety. Will sail direct to Nassau, arrive at 1 pm tomorrow & stay overnight till Wed.

I can chime in here (sailed 3/27) with a little info in case OP isn't a casino person. Bartop games are limited to Blackjack and Keno. There are Lock it links machines (someone hit 14K our cruise), lots of quick hits (1 and 2 cent). The $3 wheel machines are gone, replaced with $5 and $7 (maybe 10) min bets for wheel.

Blazing Boots still on. Great show last night by Nicola Ward from UK, vocalist.

 

Waves at 5' but wind at 22+ knots, bypassing but near GSC now, oh well.

Here's a secret tip, plenty of Specialty Dining time slots open, except Teppanyaki to book on board, unlike mega ships.

NCL misses GSC enough that they do have the backup plan ready at hand.

 

Depending on what is available in Nassau, they will either slowly sail there and get in after other ships have left or in the case of MKing and a cruise or two the last month they got into Nassau around 1 p.m.

Day 5 already & last day in Nassau. Code Barvo drill only for crew on deck 5.
