pklein9747 Posted March 27, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2018 While on the Ruby Princess earlier this month, we spent the day in Monterey. We wanted to view the 17-mile drive and stop at Pebble Beach. Rented a car from Enterprise that was within walking distance of the pier. Took about 15-20 minutes to walk there (There was a shuttle bus from the pier to the office...we just weren't aware of it.). The people in the office couldn't have been nicer. Everyone had a smile and a welcome for us. There were at least 5-7 people in the office. We were offered an upgrade and were able to negotiate the cost of filling the tank. The car was immaculate and upon returning the car to the office, they promptly settled the rental and drove us back to the pier. It was easy to get to the 17-mile Drive and follow the road. Even though the weather did not cooperate...it was rainy and windy...it was still beautiful. It was a joy to drive it ourselves and stop wherever we wanted. Since we wanted to see the aquarium also, we drove there, toured the aquarium and then returned the car. Would definitely rent from Enterprise again. vplsh Posted March 28, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 28, 2018 Thanks for the review. We are on the Ruby next week and have a car reserved with Enterprise to do the exact same thing! I'll remember to look for the shuttle from the pier!

vplsh Posted April 17, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 17, 2018 We had an excellent experience renting with Enterprise in Monterey as well. We walked to their office (it's about a mile and a half, but an easy walk) and got our car. When we returned, the agent drove us right back to the tender area. Very easy. We opted to pre-pay for gas, $20, but ended up wishing we had not. We drove the 17mile drive but didn't use that much gas. Not a problem but just an fyi. casandbliz Posted July 29, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 29, 2018 What is the name of the location where to pick up the car? We booked our car through Enterprise Rent a Car, 1178 Del Monte Ave., Monterey
LHARTWICK Posted August 7, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 7, 2018 Thanks for this review. Is Enterprise the only rental company near port? Not that we would mind using them at all, but just want to make a note of the options. We'll be visiting Monterey for the first time on September 26 via Ruby. Monterey and Astoria are a big reason we chose this route - both new ports for us.
Cruisin Kay D Posted October 19, 2018 #10 Share Posted October 19, 2018 Looking forward to using an Enterprise rental car at Monterey in November. Thinking I should call the office on DelMonte to communicate that we are on the cruise ship & inquire about pickup at the tender pier.
Podie Posted October 20, 2018 #11 Share Posted October 20, 2018 I rented from them last week. It's a tender port so I called them as soon as we were on Fisherman's Wharf, and they picked me up in 5 minutes.
