I was curious what passengers thought about the table games offered in this casino. Any craps tables ? Are the craps dealers good, bad, average?

Those answering - could you include your thoughts on the slots too?:o

Every ship HAL ship I've ever been on has had a craps table, Poker (Stud/Texas Holdem), BlackJack and a smattering of the other card games (Let it Ride and others).

I've found the craps dealers to be all across the spectrum. I suspect its because they don't get a constant work out at the tables. Payouts can sometimes take a while when there are lots of players and you do sometimes need to stay on top of them to insure you get your pay out and that its right.

One thing about the craps table, its either single or double odds max. I can't remember which right now.

Double odds on the other Holland ships, and two of the newest ships DO NOT have craps, only roulette with "0" & "00"....not the European "0" only

Totally forgot about roulette, as Blackjack and Craps are my games. I miss the days they used to have 7-card Stud instead of Texas Holdem.

I take the 2 ships without Craps would be the Neiuw Amsterdam and K-Dam. As I've been on the Eurodam and it had a craps table.

The Nieuw Amsterdam, 2nd newest ship, has a craps table.

I was on the Eurodam and we played craps every night. We always had great dealers. I made the most money on 3-card and Black Jack. I lost the most on roulette. The slots weren't so kind to us!

There are craps on the Maasdam and slots as well (for the person that asked).

Your people vary on the ships but the casino person on the Maasdam seemed to be involved with the guests.

Slots are slots. ;). Odds are not good of course, but I still play them like a fool ;)

There are all kinds from pennies, to quarters, $1's, etc.

Casino is not huge - but neither is the ship.

About the only time we do slots is as a group pool set up with our Roll Call group (if we can). Get 20-25 people to chip in $5 or $10 each and play a $1 machine - taking turns pulling and recording wins. When the original stake is played through vote to divide the remainder (if any :( ) or play on. Any big jackpot triggers immediate split the pot. Sometimes a cooperative Casino Manager will donate some logo trinkets as prizes for the people who had the most winning spins. Never have had a net profit but it is worth the $5 or $10 for entertainment. Usually draws a crowd of onlookers which makes the Casino Manager happy.

We did this on one of our cruises. Had about 15 players show up @$10 each, didn't win anything made just enough to get our $10 back, like you said for the fun of it.

I did it for the first time last cruise too. $15. It was fun. We didn't lose much at all and I hear sometimes there can be wins. :)
