cruisebore Posted November 16, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted November 16, 2017 On checking our flight tickets it appears that we folk traveling in economy have 10Kg hand baggage allowance as opposed to the 5Kg on Thomson and Thos Cook's P&O Caribbean flights

jody75 Posted November 17, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 17, 2017 Don't forget the food is crap on both - take sandwiches is the best advice.
wowzz Posted November 17, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 17, 2017 Actually the last flights we took with Virgin in PE we found the food to be pretty good for airline food. We especially like the choc ices served mid flight! Sent from my SM-T700 using Forums mobile app
cruisebore Posted November 18, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted November 18, 2017 Adonia in Barbados yesterday. Hope we dont have to queue in the sun for immigration
Nauti Buoy Posted November 18, 2017 #9 Share Posted November 18, 2017 Arrived on Friday from Manchester, straight from the plane onto a bus to the port, cold water on arrival and cold towels after check in. On a previous cruise we did immigration on the ship on the last day. The food was perfectly acceptable for what it is and the service was excellent, although it tailed of a bit towards the end as the cabin crew had to deal with two medical emergencies. I’ll post the menu up when I master how to do it....

marylizcat Posted November 19, 2017 #12 Share Posted November 19, 2017 Yes, Virgin flight for Adonia. That was good then! I didn't know if they would do the 'straight on to a bus' thing like they do with Thomson and Thomas Cook flights.
Nauti Buoy Posted November 19, 2017 #13 Share Posted November 19, 2017 Yes, exactly the same as when we flew Thomson from Birmingham for Brittania a couple of years ago.

dsrdsrdsr Posted November 20, 2017 #20 Share Posted November 20, 2017 If you were on BA you’d have 23kg Not hand baggage, I wouldn't have thought. Good luck lifting that onto the rack! ;)
wowzz Posted November 20, 2017 #21 Share Posted November 20, 2017 Not hand baggage, I wouldn't have thought. Good luck lifting that onto the rack! ;)BA allow 23 kg in hand luggage, but the case must be of the approved size, so in reality it would be impossible to achieve the allowed allowance, unless you were packing gold bars! annieuk Posted November 20, 2017 #22 Share Posted November 20, 2017 That's right, 23kg for hand luggage but you must be able to lift it into the overhead locker. You can also carry a handbag or laptop bag. The dimensions of these are listed on the BA site - they changed earlier this year I think, smaller than they were so worth checking. I must admit having more than 5kg hand luggage was a great help.
