Has anyone cruised on the Dawn recently?

Our Aug. 24th. board is quiet as well. I did look at that other site and our trip isn't there. The last Dawn trip is and with roll call pictures fun to see.

Love this trip from home port of Boston we live on the N.H. border so this is an easy port for us. Been on the Dawn before and to Bermuda as well and have always liked both. The staff has always been nice on the Dawn and so far our cabins have been perfect for our needs. This will be the furthest forward ever for us and in a mini this time verses a suite but we will have a great cruise. Looking forward to going to a show this trip missed it last time as we had the whole family and other things were done together. Our Grandson loves cruising and he will want to go to a show he missed this last time as well.

If your going with children they have plenty to do as a family group and the staff take good care of the kids throughout the ship. If your adults only plenty of quiet areas to relax in away from kids, think this may have a few as it is the last week of summer for our trip.

Food is subject to tastes we don't care for the buffet due to food temps never really correct. You know hot foods cold cold foods warm. Always enjoyed MDR but Cagney's is still a favorite, though last trip O'Sheenan's was right up there. I like lattes and the coffee bar was hit or miss for service, but that changes with each trip. I like a cocktail or glass of wine never an issue getting either anyplace on board. My husband doesn't drink but suffers through with Pepsi products :). The pools again kids but timing helps as the pool is not as crowded early in the day or while in port. They have an adult pool area but this is also a smoking area so if you don't care for this stay away. I know it isn't a full smoking area but that isn't enforced. My sister and her friends made this a meeting place every day and they are all smokers they loved the freedom they had to drink, sun bath, and swim in peace. We don't care either way so not an issue for us, well me anyway. Can't think of anything I missed, haven't used the spa but have friends who swear by this place and always get a spa pass for the week. Music again according to your tastes to loud for me but easy to avoid. Lovely library Logan and I sit there sometimes and read. This trip I hope he is at the kids club even though I love having him whisper Nana what's this word mean :).

Enjoy your cruise on the Dawn and if you enjoy Bermuda look at the Gem next year you will love this ship as well.

I think the Book of Faces is rapidly taking on this duty, unfortunately. I see a LOT of traffic on the FB pages for all kinds of NCL cruises. Sigh.

I was on the Dawn in May and am cruising on the Dawn again in Sept. I loved Manilla Soul and am hoping they will still be onboard. I think Jose and Patti will be back onboard in late August. Luz the CD at the time did a great Tina Turner Tribute.

I'm afraid Manilla Soul left the ship yesterday when we did. Don't know who was coming onboard to replace them. Luz the Assistant Cruise Director still does the Tina Turner Tribute.

Kkate- Just off the Dawn? Hope you had a great time!

Can you tell us how you liked the ship? We will be on the Dawn in a few weeks and I just can't wait!

Hello, we just sailed on the August 3 voyage of the Dawn. She looks great. Service was outstanding. Cagney's was perfect, best meal I've had in a long time. We had my Mom with us and the waiters, bartenders and room stewards went out of their way to be so nice to her. I loved that! We preferred Aqua over Venetian (there were ten of us on the cruise) and we all thought the food was better which is crazy because it's the same galley that services both restaurants. We finally wondered if it came out faster and was hotter? Bar service was great, we enjoyed Gatsby's bar the best, the late 20s drink specialists thought they mixed the best drinks there. CD was CJ Sanchez and we liked him a lot. Only complaints were just that there were so many guests on board being summer vacation and the pool areas and casino were insanely busy. I'll be writing a review later, but wanted to let you know that I thought all was well on board. Hope you have a wonderful cruise.

The Dawn is my favorite ship. The entertainment was really good. There was always something going on every evening in the Bliss lounge. The people working on the ship were awesome. We really enjoyed breakfast at O'Sheehans in the morning. Marie & Racquel really looked after us there. Have a great cruise!

Was wondering if anyone has cruised on the Dawn the last few weeks this summer? I haven't seen many posts about people's experiences on the ship and was hoping to hear everyone's thoughts. We are cruising on her in a couple of weeks and hope it is as great for us this time as it has been in the past. Thanks.

Thanks all for the updates! We had previously sailed on the Dawn out of New Orleans and loved her then. We have our reservations set at Cagneys, Los Lobos, Le Bistro & La Cucina. Also looking forward to some relaxed meals in O'Sheehans. Nice to hear good reviews on the staff.....that makes for a happy ship!

We will be staying two nights prior in Boston in the Seaport area and it's our first visit to Boston so very excited for that.

Can't wait to start our packing soon:cool:

What did you eat at Cagney's?

Do you know if JC Sanchez will still be on for the Oct 26 cruise to the Carribean?

Thanks!

Just off this morning. This was our 20th cruise. We we're really impressed with the Element show ( the best we've seen in a LONG TIME!) The majic show and comedian also were very good! So do try to watch them! Also not sure how you plan on getting around but if considering a scooter you may want to rethink it! My husband has driven motorcycles since about 7 (52 now) but it was nerve wracking having to watch out for other people and some drove kind of crazy! We also talked to another couple their parents hit bad rain and lost control. The dad got pretty banged up. We also learned a couple days later on of the other cruisers had a fatal accident! I want to find out for positive. Any ? I'll try to help
