The Wood Duck Posted July 13, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2018 My TA had to buy casino credits separate from our OBC. :ship:
lola2013 Posted July 13, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 13, 2018 Yes. I inserted my seapass card into the slot machine on Caribbean Princess. The amount I used (LOST!!!) showed up as a debit on the statement I printed from the kiosk next to Guest Services desk.
Thrak Posted July 13, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2018 I'm always a bit boggled by the "casino credit" thing. If I want to gamble (not often) I just stick my Cruise Card into a slot machine, create an account, transfer as much of my OBC onto the account as I like, and play. On our last cruise I ended up with a bunch of OBC due to various things and had about $200 "extra" that was going to just be a loss. I put it all on my casino account, played a little here and there going up and down and on the next to last day of the cruise I played until I had managed to turn the $200 into $150 (yep, that's how I gamble). I cashed out and put the $150 into my wallet.
skynight Posted July 13, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 13, 2018 Yes, but. You don't actually designate that you want to use OBC. You charge an amount, for example $100, in the slots or at the tables to your on board account. If your account has a credit balance from OBC then it will net against it. neverbeenhere Posted July 13, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 13, 2018 As long as OBC stands for something like onboard credit then, yes you can use it in the casino or even the shops. If it stands for Outrageously Bad Chicken, it would be best not to attempt to use it on a ship. But, sometimes the ship creates enough OBC themselves. Roses2 Posted July 14, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 14, 2018 OBC is a credit on your shipboard account. Spending anywhere on the ship, including the casino is a debit on the account. That is all you have to know. P&J
