Dhodgson-6 Posted April 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2018 I know this has been addressed in previous posts but there is so much to look through! Can we bring wine on board when we get back on the ship from a port?
sail7seas Posted April 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2018 Yes, you can pay a corkage fee and bring wine aboard the ship in port.s
catl331 Posted April 18, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2018 And if you buy it at a winery while on a HAL excursion there is no corkage - for 1 bottle per person, for in-room consumption only.
VennDiagram Posted April 18, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 18, 2018 If you buy wine that you want to take home with you, NOT to drink on the ship, HAL will hold it for you (no fee required).

Yes, they will hold and return it last day/night of your cruise. OR you have the choicce to pay a corkage fee and enjoy your wine on the ship. Last May when we were on Koningsdam we took a HAL excursion to a Tuscan winery. We purchased wine to take back with us to drink in our cabin (no corkage fee). At dinner that night, our wine steward asked about our day and we told her about our trip. She went away and then came back shortly to tell us that we could bring our bottles to the MDR and we would not be charged corkage fee. Apparently everyone on our excursion were told the same thing, if they inquired. We did indeed bring the wine the next night and for the next two nights and we were not charged at all. Same thing happened with us on Prinsendam - it's well worth checking with the shore excursion desk!

Dhodgson-6 Posted April 18, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted April 18, 2018 Thank you! You all are so kind and full of information :) And corkage fee is $18.00 right?
sail7seas Posted April 18, 2018 #10 Share Posted April 18, 2018 By all m eans, ask. HAL is not always the best in t erms of consistency. What happens on one ship on one cruise may not be the same on ano ther ship, another cruise.
