Cruise Cash

Had a quick question on Cruise Cash. We currently have $50 dollars of OBC. I was thinking of buying some Cruise Cash to add to our account. Reading the description, it says that Cruise Cash is not refundable, if not used it is forfeited. I wanted to see if anyone knew if the Cruise Cash would be used up first, before the OBC. That way I would be able to cash in my OBC at the end of the cruise, if not used. Thanks!

There is no advantage to cruise cash - For us we added $450 to our upcoming Nov Cruise from Carnival GCs that we had. This way there is no waiting, kiosks, etc. to add the GC to our account. We know we are going to use it so why not.

And like the other poster said - if you have anything left - go to the casino, add it to a slot machine and then cash out and your done.

The advantage to Cruise Cash is that if you don't want to spend the $100 on a Carnival gift card, you can just do increments of $25 for the Cruise Cash. Most all places i've seen the Carnival gift cards sold, are only for $100 (or $90 with 10% discounts) and not everyone may want to buy that much at once.

I have $160 in OBC and i'm throwing another $50 in Cruise Cash onto it to make it over $200. I honestly don't know why some people seem to be so against Cruise Cash or say it has no advantages, because for some of us it does. :)

The big and only advantage of cruise cash is once you are done with the physical check-in it is applied to your S&S account through no additional action on the passenger's part.

So for those doing a cash or gift card based S&S account it gives them time before having to go to GS or the kiosks to put a base amount in their account.

TO THE OP

YES the cruise cash and any non-refundable OBC (like booking promo) will be used first before and refundable method of payment.

The full order of use is as follows:

Non-refundable on board credits

Cruise Cash department specific cruise cash will be applied first if on account and qualified purchase made

Refundable OBC

Carnival Gift cards

Cash or cash equivalents like Traveler's Cheques

Credit or Debit cards (This will have no order to it if you use multiple cards on one account. If you wish to dictate a specific amount off a certain card the transaction will be handled as a cash advance and conveniences fee charge.)

Is all cruise cash the same? Cruise cash- Cruise cash bar- Cruise cash photo

Do they really separate what you buy or is it like OBC

Photo Cruise Cash will only be applied against purchases from the Pixel Gallery

Bar Cruise Cash is only applied to purchases processed through the beverage department.

General Cruise Cash can be applied to any on board expense (including the auto-gratuities), with the exception the West Park Auctions and Future Cruise Bookings, as they must be made with a refundable method in case of cancellation or damage during shipping.
