HAL's Amsterdam at Portside, Brisbane today (22/11) - a long day visit

HAL's Amsterdam is at Portside, Brisbane today (22/11). A nice long day 8 - 23 hours. Pity more cruise lines don't spend longer in port.

Was hoping to see her go past work this morning but she came in early. Good times really - cruisers don't have to rush back from Lone Pine or wherever like they would normally have to.

They have 2 days in Sydney as well.

Yes great planning, Amsterdam is on a Grand Circle Pacific Cruise. She remains one of my most favourite ships. She was specially designed and built for doing the World Cruises , and was (still is???) the flagship for the Holland America fleet.

I was surprised to see that she was berthed at Portside. I would have thought she was too big to sail up the river and turn. I think Amsterdam is the size a cruise ship should be ..at least a ship that is a ship and not a floating block of apartments with an amusement or theme park attached,
