Oh sure Joelle! You and I did plenty of crazy antics on our cruises, and always got into trouble. Trouble that I certainly could never, ever write about!

Both Jerome and Eric always just looked at us shaking their heads. Unfortunately, there is lots of picture evidence that I cannot share either.

Great to hear from you!

Oh yes...motorboats come to mind among other girl gone wild moments. ;)

But Jerome and I had some trouble moments to as Nachi Cocum comes to mind.

We miss you guys! xoox

Well, maybe not you exactly, but you may be in there somewhere.

I'm heading out on Ecstasy soon so I'm enjoying your review. As it happens, I was on the RCI Enchantment when you were heading out.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/hck0aq29v9u9flg/DSCN0069.JPG is your ship at 4:26pm on 9/23 in the rain.

Looking forward to more of your adventure.

How fabulous you got this shot... Yes it was pouring rain, but then, once we got away from Florida, it was perfect cruising weather for the entire 5 days until we pulled back into Port Canaveral.

I also think its funny that now looking at the Ecstasy, those add-on balcony cabins really do look like over the door hanging shoe storage bags.

Thank you so much for posting this pic!

The Meanest, Rudest, Nastiest, Bartender in the whole wide world.

All four of us, Jerome, Chris, Jeff and I decided to venture to the Society Bar which is in the Aft of the Ecstasy, just outside the Starlight Lounge. We were interested in seeing if there was any turnout for the GLBT or Friends of Dorothy Meet and Greet. Newsflash, none, except us, but there were two groups of guys on each side that I almost went up to and had some fun with.

See, it was Monday night, after 9PM and all the televisions on both sides of the Society Bar had Monday Night Football showing, quite loudly. So that alone was not conducive for a GLBT meet up at the bar. I mean, in all of my years, I can count on one hand the number gay guys I know that actually went nuts for football. Common, we are more the Will and Grace, 2 Broke Girls, Project Runway types. Certainly not Monday Night Football.

Chris dared me to go over to one of the groups of guys and since it was the GLBT Friends of Dorothy meet up, well, they must be “Friends of Dorothy”. And any Friend of Dorothy is a Friend of Mine. Chris dared me to go and try to pick one of the guys up. Gutsy I am, outright crazy, I am not. It would not have been pleasant or fun to write about it later with a broken nose. Realistically though, I have found that in today's world, they probably would have been flattered.

So, that idea squashed, we moseyed up to the bar and there were two bartenders. The first, a darling gal, her name was Marina. Later in the week I called her Marina Martini Master as she is the ultimate best at making a perfect Martini with the most creative Martini shake and always offers a dynamite smile. Marina hails from one of the Baltic States, and one thing I have learned about women from the Baltic States. Never, ever get on their bad side. Their country’s hard fought life for pride and independence took a toll on these fine ladies and they are amazingly strong, kind hearted, genuine, hard working, focused and fierce. But gosh forbid if I were to ever get on their bad side. Just saying.

I bring this up as what happened next, left all of us and Marina totally speechless.

The four of us approached the bar and there was another male bartender there, who point blank, refused to tell us his name after repeatedly asking him for it. I spoke up first, saying. “Good Evening!” The male bartender looked at me, with the other female bartender standing nearby, which we later found out how fabulous she was and her name, Marina. “What’s good about it?” The male bartender replied. Jerome, Chris, Jeff, Marina and I, all looked at him with a shocked look. “What kind of a response is that?” Chris said. Marina was still in shock, with a look like “What’s wrong with this guy?”

The male bartender continued with a barrage of unsolicited and unprofessional phrases with such force and such inappropriate language, it was revolting. I will have to censor the actual words, and will not even use words with certain letters missing, but will use blankadeeblank instead. You fill in the blanks.

He started with “The only thing good about tonight is that I only have four days left on my contract”. “Carnival Sucks Blankadeeblank bigtime.” “Carnival Blankadeeblank mistreats its employees”. “Carnival is the biggest Blankadeeblank Blankadeeblank Blank Liar and Cheat.” “I can’t wait to get off this piece of Blankadeeblank, old, Blankadeeblank ship”. “In four days I won’t have to deal with anymore Blankadeeblank Fat American Cows.”

Okay, so maybe I have put on a little weight and I do wear expanding waste band pants that come up to my ankles, but really, Fat American Cow? Who is he talking about?

This guy spoke perfect English, with only a slight accent. Jerome spoke up first, and said to him “So I guess this means that you are not going to renew your contract.” “Blankadeeblank Right it does” The male bartender answered back. Then Chris says to him “Hey look buddy, we just want to order a couple of drinks here without all that language.” “These Blankadeeblank Fat American Cows” he said, “I hate them all.” Marina just stood there dumfounded, I mean, what was she supposed to do? She was a scared and annoyed as we were. I turned to Jerome and we backed away from the bar, turning around we looked up at the ceiling in the rotunda that surrounds the stairway going down to the Wind Star Aft Dining Room. I said to Jerome “Look at this incredible hand painted fresco ceiling!” I continued, “Wow this offsets all that nastiness we just heard from that guy” “Can you believe it?” Jerome answered back and went on, saying “Geez, someone should get him off this ship, he scares me”, "I don't want to order a drink from him, he might put something in it to make me sick." It was then my I Love Lucy eyes opened wide, and I turned and looked at Jerome. He said, “Trouble, what are you up too?” I just shrugged, but I was up to something indeed. Yessiree!

Chris was able to get a glass of wine from Marina, but Jerome and I ended up not wanting to order anything from this bar. Carnival just lost revenue from us and we were made to feel badly, by this, excuse me for saying this, Jerk, that we even felt bad that we spent our hard earned money to come on this sailing. I felt mistreated and the anger started to boil up inside of me. Jerome could see that I was about to boil over, and though not often, it would be better to remove me from the situation before someone was going overboard!

As we were about to leave, this mean, vile, male bartender, was issuing another barrage of filthy language and his disdain for Carnival comments to another couple that just arrived at the bar. I interrupted him by asking “Excuse me, what is your name?” “None of your Blankadeeblank business”, was his reply, as he first covered up his name tag like he was saying the pledge of allegiance, then removing it. I asked again “No really, what is your name?” The Jerk turned and walked away, ignoring my question. Well, I thought to myself “I am going to fix your little fanny and click my heels and march right down to Guest Services!” But I stopped short of doing that, because I did not want to go to Guest Services huffing and puffing. Been there and done that before, and that usually ended up making me look like the Jerk instead of the employee. I needed to go to Guest Services composed, professional and calm. That would take some time. Perhaps first thing in the morning. The Jerk probably thought that someone would be going to Guest Services that night, but I wanted to surprise him and go the next day.

So, Jerome and I went to the Casino instead, I let off some steam there, won a nice jackpot, then after several libations, went back to our cabin to get some sleep. As I lay Driftily Dreaming I said to myself “I’ll get you my pretty, first thing in the morning.”

Oh my Gosh JW, I can't believe him saying that to you!!!! I can't wait to hear what Guest Services says about him. I would be reporting him to. Good for you to wait until you had cooled down. How many times do you hear someone yelling and screaming at the front desk and they being totally ignored as they are being obnoxious! Continue on please.

Awesome review so far!

I can't remember which night it was but I met you at that exact bar and you were with the three other guys. It was right before a comedy show. So I guess this means you did go back to that bar... The female bartender there was super sweet. You are totally right!

Yes I remember you and your husband. That was the third night. Marina, the bartender, was a doll baby. Yes she was.

Three days between post! Put down the Mistletoe and compose! Talk about bad customer service!

Ok, I have a past with JW too so I'm allowed...

First time I met him he grabbed me and two minutes later introduced me to some lady passing by as his husband to test me...She left, I laughed.
